Legendary Beast Tamer: Starting With Legendary Rank Sword
Chapter 125: Summoning Elves
The Hill Family, Doctor Eleanor, Sky Marshal Kaelor, and the mayor and his daughter was now traveling to the airport inside the mayor’s personal stretch limousine.
The atmosphere was gentle and lovely. Most of the time, it was Mia, chatting with Krisha, whose voice echoed with countless topics that were almost irrelevant. Krisha enjoyed Mia’s narration, so much that she has replies to every topic.
Sarah and Noah were elated to discover how close Mia and Krisha was.
Felix, on the other hand, were chatting with the mayor in an almost hushed tone. The stretch limousine was spacious to begin with. There were seats on either side. Doctor Eleanor and Sky Marshal Kaelor had their own personal seat and were a bit far from the others.
Felix and mayor’s conversation simply focused on the recent events occurring inside and outside of the Chambers City.
He learned that the beast wave frequency increased every year. Although the quality of the beasts remained the same, the quantity was also something the city worried more.
During the previous meeting the mayor had with the other mayors, he also learned about beast tamer, who summoned humanoid species.
Just yesterday afternoon, during the summoning in the Miller City, a baby elf, was summoned instead.
In the past, a beast tamer would usually summon a half-human and half-beast—they were in the infant form.
Now, after the strange summoning of an old rusty dull sword, there was another beast tamer who summoned a baby elf instead.
For the record, the elf race was only a myth. Their origins were unknown. Hence, after the world was shaken by Felix’s summoning and his growth afterwards, another beast tamer summoned a creature from the myth.
The citizens of the Miller City rejoiced. They believed their beast tamer’s potential was no lesser than Felix.
Like the latter, the beast tamer was also raised by an ordinary couple. Hence, the expectations were higher.
However, for other citizens, inside and outside of the Miller City, they believed otherwise. According to various myth surrounding about the elf race, they were known to be arrogant.
They feared that the beast tamer might fail to tame the elf once it grew up. There were similar instances like that even to the beast pets, until the laws about executing the beasts once it was discovered they betrayed their master was introduced and passed.
The elf was intelligent, as well. Once they developed enough consciousness and learned they were a slave, they would soon find a way to break the soul contract, liberate themselves, and endangered the humanity.
That was the discussion during the mayor’s emergency virtual meeting last night. Felix himself went as far as asking Guide about it.
Guide replied. [It’s indeed foreboding. I don’t have knowledge about the elf’s exact attitude, but the idea of liberating themselves in the future is unsettling.]
Felix trusted Guide’s judgement and relayed it to the mayor. He also expressed his personal opinion.
"However, I believe that once we treat them the same as we do with beats, not treating them merely as pets but as companion, then we can just suppress the rebellion that might occur in a millennia.
We just have to prevent them from developing dangerous ideology."
The mayor admired Felix’s answer. He has a brilliant mind. He thought.
He sighed and shook his head. "It’s like a virus, right? We know it’s already inevitable, but killing and preventing the appearance of the elf is also downright bad. The black obsidian obelisk has always been good to us."
Felix nodded.
Suddenly, his eyes widened.
He asked, trying his best to restrain the volume of his voice, "Did the beast tamer experienced something during the summoning?"
The Miller City’s black obsidian obelisk was the second one after the Clark City’s. However, only the Clark City’s obelisk has constantly provided Echo Resonance.
Felix, for some reason, instantly thought about the possibility of the black obsidian obelisk there to provide a vision or knowledge.
The mayor was silent for a while. Should I tell him? It’s supposed to be confidential.
He swept his gaze around and, even when Doctor Eleanor and Sky Marshal Kaelor tried their best to act as if they weren’t listening, the mayor expended Energy to block off the noise around Felix and him.
He said, "For the first time, she did. It was the vision of the ancient battlefield."
He paused, giving Felix to process what he had said.
Felix’s eyes widened. He replied, "It’s similar to the first Echo Resonance of the First Obelisk."
The mayor nodded. "It was about the ancient battlefield where beasts were fighting a censored enemy in a war, but this time, it was now the elves race."
Felix’s eyes widened. He opened his mouth and was about to ask, but his realization had already answered his question.
He asked Guide what she thought about it and, as expected, she felt the same.
[It’s forbidding indeed. The black obsidian obelisk seems to be giving way for races to prevent their extinction. But the beasts and elves might be facing the common enemy.]
"Do you know which race is it?"
[I don’t know, Host. I apologized.]
"It’s fine."
"I think we’re getting closer to the truth now," said the mayor. His tone was solemn.
Felix glanced at the mayor, having no choice but to tilt his head upward due to how tall he was and massive in size.
He asked, "What truth, Mayor?"
"About the beast wave. About the black obsidian obelisk. About the main enemy we’re about to face." His face turned grave.
Hearing the gravity of his words, Felix’s heart skipped a beat.
The mayor’s words struck a heavy realization to him.
After being silent for a while minute, Felix said, "Don’t worry, Mayor. I’ll do my best to grow stronger and help others grow stronger, too. The sword techniques I have will be our biggest advantage."
The mayor was stunned. Felix’s words were pleasing to his ear.
He beamed a smile. "Please do, Felix. You can also give me a sword technique to practice, too. I’m currently relying on my beasts’ skills that I gained from them."
Felix nodded and beamed a smile. "Don’t worry, Mayor. I will. Give me some time."
Afterwards, Felix questioned the Mayor about his elemental affinity and had Guide to give him an Epic rank sword art for Mayor.
Eventually, they reached the airport and for the first time, Felix gazed at the Obsidian Wing up close, striking him with awe by its elegance.
