Chapter 2868: 2868. Encourage The People

Days of following different cultural similarities and how they worked to develop specific aspects of what each race did in their daily life made Walker never wish to pick up a book about culture again. He even believed that he had dissected so much of each race’s culture for the one class being developed that he could teach it almost flawlessly. This wasn’t to say he could call himself an expert.

Some races like the demons had small intricacies to their culture in terms of finding someone to spend their life with.

They would test a partner for their strength. Not by fighting but by seeing how they could hide and provide for a family member. Therefore they would have the partner feign illness to see how the other would respond. Would they gather enough food and herbs to protect the other? Could they hide that ill person from threats?

These things had developed during the long term enslavement of their own people but become shows of care that couldn’t be ignored. They were simply perfect for dedicating their lives to, therefore, it became a staple aspect of their culture in terms of relationships.

While this was a little odd compared to humans or the harpy race, it was just something that developed over time and had a lasting effect. The same things happened to every culture, but it was the fact that this was something that truly showed value to one member of the demon race. It was good to know about the general public of the unified races.

The problems that he faced as they went were mostly due to stereotyping from every other race. Plenty had false assumptions or had interacted with very few of the other races and made grand assumptions.

That proved beyond a doubt that it was just the struggle of new societies coming together. Walker needed to make sure that those he was encouraging to teach were doing their due diligence. That they were making certain there were fair and open examples of what the other races did and excited like. Especially in terms of the core culture they had.

A few mothers had even started to tell their children that if they didn’t sleep at night one of the batmen race might take them away. Another said if they didn’t sleep during the day that a harpy might pluck them from the ground. Both false but enough that it could become a normal turn of phrase if left alone.

Yet, one thing that Walker found amazing were the teachers and how they were planning to teach the history of battles.

While there had been wars and small skirmishes in the past related to territory, farming, and other issues which were mostly political, they existed. There was also the good that came from them.

A small battle had been fought in the open plains between a human group and the demi-humans. Simply because the warrior boar tribe had been struggling for food during a hunting season where the weather had caused many plants and monsters not to thrive.

This led to them trying to make trade deals with human merchants. Not a bad thing.

That was until they stole from them causing the merchants to report back to a noble of the humans. Before long, the entire tribe of demi-humans were fighting with the humans that came to bring justice.

From there it had blown up in to drama related to the honor of the nobles and the beastly qualities of the demi-humans. It led to both kingdoms directly taking control and creating laws about the roaming tribes and how trades needed to be done.

Such as not entering the tribal camping grounds. Not allowing goods to be taken from an open table without the deal finishing. And several other factors that changed the ways that humans and demi-humans traded for the past twenty years.

These factors were enough to allow Walker some time to shape his own ideas about what he had seen while traveling earlier in his career as an adventurer.

As much as he delved in to these things, Walker found himself being taken away here and there. The main academic building would also house the teaching offices. Enough to have at least a staff of two hundred teachers with space for more at a later date.

Those who had already moved in to offices were not surprised. Many were figures of renown from kingdoms who had expertise in certain crafting methods and certain subjects.

Surprisingly, he managed to run in to an elder dragon who looked fairly frail for their race.

The elder dragon was in their dragonkin form so they easily maneuvered the halls, while still unfinished as they were. They also were missing one hand making it clear that they had fought in many battles between other dragons.

Once Walker had spoken with them though, he had found out that they were one of the record keepers who learned from the oldest dragon and would teach a rough history of the dragon race. Specifically going over how dragons used to split territory and create villages. How they naturally remembered the dragon language and how their blood remembered their ancestors.

This would be a brilliant way to show the benefits of bloodlines and how many people within Genesis would awaken certain memories or skills related to their blood and lineage. Especially since the dragons were such a clear cut example of this.

It also allowed for the people to learn more about the benefits of seeing how a long lived race ruled.

Being able to see that a long lived race might struggle to adapt to more modern times was harder to grasp for some but would be important. It would show that to the dragons or elves, a couple of years could feel like a blink of an eye. Meaning that they may take longer to adapt to certain situations or new laws and regulations without the assistance of their dragonkin or others beside them.

It also presents the idea that races like the goblin race might grow faster and be closer to the cutting edge technology within Genesis because they were a shorter lived race. Their lives would move faster making them struggle with those who lived even longer than themselves.

As all of this was just the start, Walker already grasped a great deal of how education would go.

The basic education for the youngest students would happen through the city and kingdoms. Smaller schools to teach basics like laws, writing, reading, and other basics would allow for there to be a general population of smart individuals.

Then there would be those who followed masters of a craft or set of skills. They would learn from them and be apprentices for the most part. Often working within a single business to progress themselves to a higher level of skill.

Sometimes both would lead toward the academy where they would pay a small fee that even the poorest could afford to attend classes. Or they could win advanced competitions to be able to get in for free and learn from stricter classes taught by leading figures within the world. All coming together so that the highest levels of skill were always being taught.

This flow would advance every single one of the people of Genesis while allowing those who wished to pursue greater things to do so. It also would allow for friendly competition to make it in to certain programs.

He was rather proud of who the leaders and the people were working together on this. Some volunteers even arrived to copy notes, finish the woodworking in classrooms, and even a few farmers came on their days off from their own farms to assist in the teaching farms that were being prepared for the next generation of high class farmers.

With the party there, the rumors of how the heroes were supporting the people becoming stronger only grew. It brought many more people to work and assist building the academy within the very first day, let alone days after.

The idea that even the leaders representing races appeared here like Alma when she wished to see the elven cultural section of the school that would be used to show pictures, homes, and other aspects of various elf villages just further increased the rumors.

Su even managed to get a guard company to move in to the school grounds for some preliminary training. Something that brought out some young aspiring guards to view the academy grounds and explore. The demonstration was perfect for sharing the hopes of what everyone was trying to achieve here.

Their actions may not have directly sped up the building, but it had brought those who could speed up the building pushing the entire academy plans ahead by a full two months within a single week.

That was all Walker could hope for, and he knew it would get better as time went on.
