Walker stood next to Remey and saw the thin and larger than he realized saber wasps. They were at least the length of his arm now, before the mana had returned to the world they would be the size of his hand at most. Remey also gave him a small smirking smile, basically telling him that she knew they had become much larger.

This wasn’t the only problem monster that had grown, however, it was one of them that Walker had not realized changed so much in size.

These sorts of things would keep happening here and there as time went on. These monsters could gain mana that they had been lacking to grow to their highest potential. Meaning that they most likely were just following their natural progression and growth over time. It was natural so it wasn’t something that should be resisted or forced to fight.

This wasp is somewhat territorial when predators or nuisances approach their nest. Due to the improved environment, they have been able to grow larger and begin to strengthen their nests to be larger as well.

They are known to produce a very valuable set of crafting materials including their wax, venom, and also their stingers. They also have some usage in their wings for specific forms of glass crafting.

They are known to hunt smaller insect monsters that prey on farmers’ crops making them a welcome nuisance until they grow too large and begin to consume some of the crops or harass the beasts kept as farmed food. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

There is often a singular queen, however, they can have multiple if the nest is left for long enough to develop several. They also have different kinds of saber wasp, those that do not have wings are the builders that focus on growing the nest while the saber wasps with long sharp saber like stingers are the ones seen flying and fighting others.

Due to their larger sizes, they are more dangerous and their venom more potent. If stung and injured by them, it is best to be treated by an anti venom potion sooner than later since the venom can cause nerve damage and weakness in limbs. The threat of these monsters had grown because they had grown. Remey was looking at them and the trees where their nests have been created.

Unlike the honey bees or other related species of monsters, the saber wasps made their nests out in the open between the trees. They used the bark like perfect footholds to latch their nest on to and connect to multiple trees. Therefore causing the fuzzy peach trees to be almost entirely covered in the nest.

At least three fuzzy peach trees with a lot of fruit on them were suffering because they were unable to be harvested. This already caused some broken branches, but most of all it was food that the farmer could not get right now.

Some of the saber wasps were eating at those peaches while even more had begun to eat at the nearby trees to use the broken bark as materials for the nest. This would cause the farmer too much in time costs to repair if left alone. Losing these trees would be a huge downfall for them and most likely negatively affect multiple aspects of their livelihood.

Where Walker and Remey were looking to take the wax and produce a better form of it, they also could help the farmer here and share the experience with others. That way there could be more people that easily dealt with the larger saber wasps in the future.

Ignoring the nest, Walker focused on the saber’s wasps stingers and realized that they were naturally dripping with their venom here and there. It would cause their scent to deter other wasps and troublesome predators. This was similar to the venom wolf that would rub its teeth against trees to mark its territory. It also would kill off the trees in the long term but at least the venom wolf was a creature that traveled to different territories every year.

The saber wasps were just expanding here and would stay in one place building larger and larger hives until they were finally dealt with by a predator or someone like Walker and Remey. Advanturers.

Walker stepped forward and used wind mana to make it seem like he wasn’t stepping anywhere near the wasps. He was basically confusing them using his magical ability as he used the eternal codex to take a sword form.

He somewhat felt it was comical to use a sword to fight them since they were known as the saber wasps. But he also understood that Remey couldn’t use any fire skills because it would damage the nest and the trees. And she didn’t want to do either.

The nest had alchemy uses and the fuzzy peaches were a fruit that she knew Su and Midnight liked. If she damaged them she would get an earful from the two of them.

With swift movements, Walker cut the abdomen of the larger saber wasps off keeping them from being able to do anything against him. Remey on the other hand used her strength to leap forward and crush their heads with her fists. It was the brutality of a brawler but a clear example of her strength and where she started from.

The saber wasps were stirred up by the sudden movements but held nothing compared to the two. If they were intelligent enough they might wish to become half the strength of Remey and Walker, but that just wasn’t possible.

In a matter of a few moments, the attacking saber wasps were handled and the builders left began to retreat within the nest only for the queen to force them outside as well.

She was the queen and she had the control over all of the wasps in the hive. Since she couldn’t fly after taking up residence within the nest for the time being, she would use them as meat shields.

Before Walker worried about that though, he used wind to cut the nest from the trees and saw the queen wasp detaching its abdomen to try and flee. This was how they managed to escape and create a new nest.

While it would weaken them, it could grow back its abdomen and stinger unlike the other wasps in the hive. But Walker was speedy and trapped it in a bubble of wind so that he could hand it off to a tamer that might be able to train it or a few generations later down the line.

If this was possible, then they could secure the unique wasp created wax. Then there would be a better flow of crafting materials. Something that might not really be possible or cost effective, but worth a shot.

On the other hand, Remey pointed out the bodies of the builder wasps and had Walker store them away. With the nest procured, the farmer could handle the damage to his trees and work on improving his farm while the two could take the nest and begin alchemy experiments.

"I want to use a very low heat and salt to extract the moisture from the wax and release the materials used to make it. It should also make the venom bleed out and I can distill that in to a poison for arrows, spears, and darts. Maybe it will be useful in medicines too?"

"You think it might be better for medicines? Have you been speaking with Alice? She is working with the non magical healers who need more medicines, potions, and tools."

"Who do you think has been seeing all the paperwork requesting medicines? They need numbing ones, healing ones, and even some that reduce swelling so that they can deal with certain natural injuries. Most magic can’t heal a finger that grows crooked or teeth that grow in the wrong direction. That’s what those other healers are meant to do in life."

Walker didn’t hide how impressed he was that Remey knew what was going on with everything. She also didn’t show that she was worried about any of that. Most likely because she also understood that there were people within Genesis who needed these things badly.

"Now, I want you to channel manas toward us so we can start working on these things. You have that portable alchemy lab space skill right? Use it and show me what you can do." This was what Remey had wanted all along too. She wanted to see Walker use this skill and try to better gain something like this too.

"Yeah yeah yeah. I will use it and we will figure out your potion." He sighed and started to use his skills.
