Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 1026: She Really Doesn’t Hate Him That Much Anymore
Vanessa Sterling just kept her head down without speaking, and didn’t turn to look at Miles Sterling beside her.
She just felt that Miles Sterling was like a big fireball, and the half of her body next to him seemed to be slowly burning.
Miles Sterling glanced at Vanessa Sterling and noticed her flushed face.
He suddenly thought that perhaps not everything the assistant girl said was untrue.
"Um... I’m not interrupting your dinner, am I?"
Yvonne immediately waved her hand, "Not at all, not at all!"
She said, while nudging Vanessa Sterling, and whispered, "Teacher Sterling, say something, he’s your lifesaver after all, you should thank him properly."
Vanessa Sterling felt like she was sitting on pins and needles, and finally just got up from her seat, shifting her suspicion, saying, "I’ll go check the menu and see if we need to add any dishes."
By the time she said this, Vanessa Sterling was already quite a distance away.
Miles Sterling watched Vanessa Sterling’s departing back, and his initially nervous heart suddenly relaxed a lot.
Even though Vanessa Sterling was still avoiding him, he seemed to really see the shy look on her face because of him.
This time, there was no trace of hatred or dislike on her face.
The awkward look of escape seemed somewhat cute.
Yvonne gave Miles Sterling a naughty smile and whispered, "See, I told you Teacher Sterling is very shy. Her face turned as red as a tomato the moment you arrived."
Miles Sterling didn’t think Vanessa’s shyness necessarily meant she liked him, because she has always been quite introverted and reserved.
He was just a bit surprised by the change in Vanessa Sterling’s attitude towards him.
Just like that night when he didn’t expect Vanessa Sterling to actually come down and open the door for him.
Maybe she really doesn’t hate him that much anymore.
Vanessa Sterling dawdled, not wanting to go back, hiding in the restroom playing on her phone for quite a while.
But she found that even though she was browsing content she normally found interesting, she couldn’t focus on it.
"Dingdong—"
Yvonne sent her a message: Teacher Sterling, where have you run off to? The dishes are being served, hurry up and come eat!
Vanessa Sterling took a deep breath and replied: Coming.
Still not having sorted out her chaotic thoughts, Vanessa Sterling braced herself and returned to her seat.
Throughout the whole time, she didn’t dare look directly at Miles Sterling, and kept her head down, eating the food in her bowl with her chopsticks.
Yvonne said to Miles Sterling, "Our Teacher Sterling loves dumplings the most. Handsome, you’re closer, why don’t you help Teacher Sterling get one?"
Miles Sterling turned and looked at Vanessa Sterling, but before he could react, he saw Vanessa Sterling get up herself, stretch her arm to get a dumpling, and say, "I can reach it myself, don’t worry about me."
Yvonne gave Vanessa Sterling an exasperated glare, while Miles Sterling couldn’t help but chuckle quietly.
Everyone at the table seemed to sense that there was something between the two of them, and besides Yvonne, others started chiming in too.
"Mr. Sterling, I saw you at the art exhibition today. Do you like our Teacher Sterling’s paintings?"
Before Miles Sterling could answer, another voice chimed in, "I don’t think it’s just her paintings you like."
Vanessa Sterling glared at them in embarrassment and annoyance, unable to get angry, her tone was soft even when trying to scold, "Hurry up and eat! Why so much gossip?"
Seeing Vanessa Sterling’s shy expression, everyone at the table couldn’t help but laugh.
In the laughter, Vanessa Sterling buried her head even lower, wishing she could dig a hole and hide in it.
Her mind was in a mess, without even understanding why she was feeling shy.
