Chapter 113- Invasion (Part 4)

Elio realized instantly that these vampires weren’t merely moving randomly, even though it seemed like they were. Their movements were quite coordinated as they slowly trapped everyone within the area, closing the gaps slowly before anyone could escape.

It took him a second to notice that, but when he did, Elio’s doubts that this was some sort of plan executed by some entity disappeared; he was now certain they weren’t just attacking out of sheer coincidence.

’This is bad. This is really bad.’ He muttered as he tried to think of a way out. Fiona was a good distance away from him, and she could possibly be out of range. He cannot just wait for her to come back for him.

"Let’s go, Grandma! We will go inside that building!" He said as he grabbed her hand and rushed quickly toward the closest building. Since people’s natural instinct was to run out rather than in, it was easily accessible.

"Get in!"

As his grandmother got in, Elio quickly kicked a Vampire that tried to attack them as they were running. The creature screeched in pain as it stumbled down the stairs. Elio then grabbed his sword and looked at his grandmother.

"We will be moving! We can’t stay here."

Emilia, on the other hand, was simply impressed by her grandson. The way he was moving and taking decisive actions without hesitation was so unlike him. The timid and awkward boy who feared everything had disappeared completely, and all she saw was a confident and smart young man.

’This kid....’

As she was in a daze, Elio turned around and scanned the building. It was an office building so there were several floors and many rooms. He was certain there were still people inside and vampires, too.

However, it was at least far more manageable than the chaos outside. The interior was quiet while the outside was a huge mess.

"Fuuuh..." Taking a deep breath, Elio spread his senses far and wide, trying to find all the enemies around. Quickly, he located several vampires within the building, and from what he could feel, they were eating their prey.

"..." Frowning, he signaled for his grandmother to follow him. The two started going upstairs as they kept their steps quiet. Reaching the second floor, Elio peeked up there and immediately located the first vampire, hunched over a dead body as it sucked its blood.

"Dammit..." He felt angry seeing the dead man, but he held his emotions and focused. "Stay here for a second, Grandma. I will kill it."

"Be careful, son..." She said. She didn’t even bother to try to stop him, knowing her grandson had been training under Fiona for a while now, and he was most likely stronger than she would imagine.

Elio continued up to the second floor as he finally stepped into it and faced the monster. Then, without hesitation, he dashed toward it. The creature looked up, all drenched in blood as it tried to jump off its prey and defend itself.

However, by the time it realized Elio was approaching it, it was far too late.

*Swish*

The blade sliced through the monster’s neck like a flash, and it fell to the ground, dead. Elio breathed out as he turned and signaled for his Grandmother to climb the stairs.

However, the woman remained still for a few seconds, completely stunned by how fast Elio moved.

’That little brat... He learned all of that when? It has been barely a few days since he awakened...’ She muttered to herself. ’He really inherited their talents. Such a learning speed reminds me of his parents.’

Staring at her Grandson, for a second, his silhouette mixed with two other silhouettes that she knew and loved dearly. That made her smile without even realizing it. She could see the similarity, that was truly their son, and she felt truly proud of him for reaching the point he reached.

"Grandma?" Elio called for her again, noticing the smile on her face.

As she stood up to approach him, Elio suddenly felt a presence approaching him at top speed from behind. The boy’s entire body shuddered... That aura, it was strong.

Quickly turning around, he saw a vampire dashing toward him. His speed far exceeded that of the rest of the vampires he faced so far.

*BANG*

Reaching him, it swung its leg, kicking at his stomach. The boy instinctively put his sword forward as he fortified it with Blood Energy.

Still, that hit felt like a truck had crashed into him as he was pushed back dozens of feet, sliding on the ground. His feet clenched from the pain. His bones had taken all the hit and it felt awful.

Stabbing his sword into the ground, he finally came to a halt as he looked up. The vampire had disappeared from his vision.

’Where did it go?!’

"Above you, Elio!"

He heard his grandmother yell from behind him, shifting his gaze to the ceiling. There, he saw the monster had somehow latched onto it before it pushed itself down, launching another attack at him.

Without thinking twice, Elio swung his sword to meet the attack. Trying to dodge it or defend against it was simply not going to work; he had to attack back.

*CLING*

The monster’s hand clashed with Elio’s sword in a violent shockwave. The two were pushed back in opposite directions as Elio almost stumbled and fell.

’This bastard!’

Recovering from the hit, he channeled his Blood Energy and attacked. Dashing toward the vampire, he swung his sword, aiming for its neck. The monster, however, was not an easy prey.

With its speed, it grabbed the blade with its bare hand as it opened its mouth to bite him. Elio quickly yanked himself back to avoid it before he punched the monster in the face.

Then, he punched it again with even more force, slamming its head into the ground. Using that opportunity, he tried to finish it off. However, Elio had a glaring mistake... He left his legs exposed.

Quickly, the vampire grabbed one of them and yanked him, making the boy fall on his back.

’Shit!!’ His face paled at the realization of his huge blunder. Falling on his back, the monster lunged at him, trying to press him down. However, Elio was no pushover anymore.

His raw strength alone was that of 4 people or more. Coupled with his Pure Blood Energy, he was easily as strong as 7 average men, a power that is simply unimaginable by the normal human mind.

The vampire grabbed his arms and tried to press him down, but the boy kicked it violently before he released one of his hands and punched it in the face, making it spit blood. Then, he punched again, and again.

"Get... off me!!" One of his punches was charged with a lot of energy before he launched it, sending the monster’s head back from the impact. It felt its head spin, and its balance was destroyed.

Elio took that chance as he kicked it away and grabbed his sword. But that was only enough for the monster to recover from the brutal punches as it lunged at him.

At that moment, Elio activated his rune.

’Blood Momentum’!
