Chapter 2896: Second Phase: Nidhogg III

Hou Yiwei is not idle as he checked on his guild members first to make sure that none of them are incapacitated. He might be arrogant but he knows the importance of the guild members staying alive and attacking the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. If he wants his guild to rank first then he needs to have most of them alive and doing damage. ๐‘“๐‘Ÿโ„ฏ๐˜ฆ๐“Œ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฃ๐‘›๐‘œ๐“‹๐‘’๐“.๐‘โ„ด๐“‚

Seeing that Equinox has joined the battle, Hou Yiwei no longer held back as well. He knows how devastating the power of the Demon is. Even if he does not want to admit it, Hou Yiwei knows that the Demon could easily climb the first spot if he does not give it his all. As such, Hou Yiwei poured in half of his divine energy into one of the most powerful skills that he has.

"Celestial Sky Piercing Arrow!" Hou Yiwei stated as a silhouette of a larger more regal version of himself has manifested before him.

The silhouette looked like a godlier version of Hou Yiwei and it used a bow much bigger than it. The silhouette then fired off the large arrow filled to the brim with divine sun energy. The Primordial Beast Nidhogg was still firing off its breath attack which meant that it could not evade in time. A piercing arrow directly hit the back of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg and pierced a hole cleanly.

The Primordial Beast Nidhogg emitted a painful roar as its body was pierced by the powerful skill that Hou Yiwei used. One would think that Hou Yiwei will celebrate but he did not look at the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. Hou Yiwei looked at the ranking board directly to check how much points he contributed.

When Hou Yiwei saw that his name appeared at the first spot with a large gap between the second, he smiled a little and only completed his smile as he saw his guild att he top spot as well. Despite his great performance in dealing great damage to the Primordial Beast Nidhogg, Hou Yiwei actually garnered deadly stares at the players that were at the back of the enemy.

He did not even shout that he will release a powerful attack in that instant. Some of the players would have died if the Valor Guild Master Ain did not save them. Ain managed to recover after destroying the weather but he is still in a state where his movement is not impeded. He is still restoring some of his aura that he used in great number.

Hou Yiwei did not care though as he is not here to help other guilds. He is here to make sure that his guild achieves the number one spot in the contributions for killing the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. Seeing that he managed to make that jump to first place with one attack, Hou Yiwei believed that they would claim that spot starting now.

Hou Yiwei was about to start churning out commands when he noticed that the skeleton giant summoned by the undead player earlier is now hugging the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. He did not think much of it since it might be just a tactic to restrain it as commanded by his guild leader or something. He only found it odd when all of the players that were at the back of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg ran away or were teleported away by the Demon.

"What are they planning?" Hou Yiwei thought as he suddenly felt that the skeleton giantโ€™s miasma skyrocketed instantly.

Just as Hou Yiwei is thinking what they have in plan, the large skeleton giant suddenly exploded. A powerful explosion of miasma and cursed energy engulfed the area. Hou Yiwei clicked his tongue and glared at Adrian as his guild members were not made aware of such a thing. Then again, he did not give any warning to the players earlier when he launched that powerful attack towards the Primordial Beast Nidhogg.

Adrian immediately noticed the large hole of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg and knew that the beast will not be able to move easily with it. He knows that Hou Yiwei is powerful but he actually pierced the body of a High God Level Primordial Beast. Even though Creepysoo, Hexy, and all other debuffers were making sure that the Primordial Beast Nidhogg is weakened, the fact that he can achieve such a thing means he has great firepower.

"The only problem is he is so stuck up and does not even care for other people besides his own. He did not even give a slight warning when he unleashed that arrow. He could have killed some of the players that are hacking at the back of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg." Adrian thought as he suddenly received a message from Creepysoo.

"Big bro! I cannot maintain perfect control over the skeleton giant for long. I will sacrifice it and make it explode so make sure that all of our friends are safe." Creepysoo whispered via the chat.

"Sure. I will make sure that none of our friends become caught up in it. Just do your thing and I shall do the rest." Adrian replied with a wicked grin.

Just as Adrian told Creepysoo, he teleported all of his allies the moment the skeleton giant hugged the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. He did not teleport the Celestial Guild members that were close to the Primordial Beast Nidhogg though. Creepysoo seemed to be conflicted in suddenly making the skeleton explode as there were some players near the Primordial Beast Nidhogg but Adrian told him to just do it.

"Grand Corpse Explosion!" Creepysoo shouted as all of the remaining mana in his body vanished and the large skeleton giantโ€™s soul fire sparked until it exploded.

The powerful explosion created by the skeleton giant made the Primordial Beast Nidhogg wail in pain. The body that should be incredibly durable is suddenly looking scorched or heavily injured while numerous curses are afflicting the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. One could even see that the Primordial Beast Nidhogg is in a state where it could not move because even its legs are destroyed by the explosion.

It is not just the Primordial Beast Nidhogg that is hurt but even the Celestial Guild members that were close got caught up in the blast. Even though no one died, the sight of the Celestial Guild members getting knocked back by the explosion was a refreshing sight to Adrian. He even looked towards Hou Yiwei and grinned in a rather mocking way.

Adrian could feel the glare that Hou Yiwei is giving him but he did not entertain it because he suddenly detected an ominous energy inside of the body of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. He did not detect it before but this energy is not something that should be of this world. As if he knew that something more disastrous would happen, Adrian instantly told the guild alliance to do their best to kill the Primordial Beast Nidhogg while it is weakened.

All of the guilds that are present have seen the weakened body of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. It was basically easy picking from then on as it was not even strong enough to heal itself. Greed finally took over every guild present as they charged towards the weakened Primordial Beast Nidhogg. Even Hou Yiwei used some of his high damaging skills to try and chip more health from the weakened Primordial Beast Nidhogg.

As they were about to move in for the kill, the Primordial Beast Nidhogg suddenly stood up. An ominous energy is suddenly emitted from the body of the Primordial Beast Nidhogg. An energy that most players are familiar with because this is a sign that the Primordial Beast Nidhogg has accepted a deal from a Distorted God.

The Primordial Beast Nidhogg released a cry of pain as a gem that is red in color suddenly surfaced from inside of it. The red gem looked otherworldly as it suddenly released streaks of red strings made of the Primordial Beast Nidhoggโ€™s blood. The blood that should have leaked out of the Primordial Beast Nidhoggโ€™s body suddenly became a way for it to attack.

The unlucky players that were close to the Primordial Beast Nidhogg were all skewered but they were not killed. Instead, the players were sucked of their life force and blood as if the red gem is supplementing the missing components of the Primordial Beast Nidhoggโ€™s body. Some players that were pierced managed to save themselves by destroying the red blood strings but some were not as strong.

The players that were overtaken by greed and did not know their own strength have all died as dried corpses. The number of players that died is sizeable as the number of players got reduced by a quarter of the original number. After the red blood strings absorbed the life force and blood of the fallen players, the Primordial Beast Nidhogg released a powerful scream and pressure that even Adrian could not block or ignore easily. All of the beings that were at least a hundred meters near the Primordial Beast Nidhogg got blown away.
