Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Chloe, I Was Really Scared

"You already know. I’ve been following you."

Walker’s dark, deep-set eyes regarded her with a flat expression.

’She wouldn’t believe a word he said.’

’Since that was the case, he’d just let her think he was stalking her.’

"You..."

Chloe Reed’s lovely brows furrowed. A flicker of anger surfaced in her clear eyes, but when she remembered he’d just saved her, she couldn’t bring herself to vent it.

Seething with frustration, she pulled out her phone to call a car.

Her actions told him she had no intention of going back to Jardinelle.

However, a hand suddenly appeared and snatched her phone away.

"Give it back!"

Chloe glared at him.

But Walker simply put her phone in his own pocket, then walked over, opened the car door, and bent down to lift her out.

Chloe struggled. "Let me go!"

SMACK!

Walker gave her rear a firm slap, his tone darkening. "Chloe Reed, I’m very angry right now. Don’t provoke me."

’She just had to go to dinner with Preston Vance, and this is the danger she ran into.’

’This was her choice!’

Chloe’s eyes widened in disbelief. "You... you bastard! Let me go!"

Walker simply threw her over his shoulder, making it impossible for her to struggle free.

He strode into the villa’s living room, went straight upstairs, and tossed her onto the soft bed.

Chloe’s body bounced twice on the mattress. She immediately rolled over and tried to run for the door.

But Walker grabbed her by the ankle, yanked her back, and then leaned over, pinning her to the bed.

"Where do you think you’re going? Still trying to find him?"

His hot breath fanned across her ear, his heavy body pressing down on her like a mountain.

"Let me go! It’s none of your business where I go. I just don’t want to be with you!"

Chloe’s eyes reddened as she continued to struggle.

Walker’s brows furrowed tightly. He got onto the bed and wrapped his arms around her completely.

Now, she couldn’t move at all.

"Let me go..."

Chloe was panting from her struggles, a sheen of sweat beading on the tip of her nose.

Walker’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his voice turning husky. "Keep moving."

The two were now pressed tightly together. Chloe felt his reaction, gritted her teeth, and cursed him for a bastard.

But she really didn’t dare to move anymore.

Because she would be the one at a disadvantage.

The woman in his arms finally settled down. Walker’s arm muscles relaxed slightly as he held her, his nose brushing against the side of her face.

"Chloe, I was really scared just now."

He said in a hushed voice, his eyes closed, not daring to think back on the scene from earlier.

’What if he hadn’t gotten there in time? What if she had really been hurt?’

"Stay away from Preston Vance. Why do you think he suddenly came back?" Walker opened his eyes, looked at her, and tried to persuade her in a low voice.

Chloe still paid him no mind, her entire being radiating a cold detachment.

Her attitude was like a sharp thorn, stabbing mercilessly into his heart.

"I believe you didn’t do it."

He added, "Your sister-in-law wouldn’t dare accuse you."

But Chloe closed her eyes and said sarcastically, "Weren’t you the one who told me to confess at the police station? In your heart, you’ve already decided I’m the one who pushed her."

"No."

Walker denied it. "You keep insisting on divorcing me regardless of the danger to yourself. *That’s* what’s wrong."

Hearing this, her eyelashes trembled violently.

Her tone grew even colder. "Walker Grant, you won’t agree to the divorce. I might not have done anything about it before, but I can’t make any promises about the future."
