Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 200: No Sincere Apology, No Entry
Charles Reed sat at the head of the table, his face exceptionally grim as he listened to the heated discussion.
He was furious.
He never imagined that Walker Grant would actually make a move against him!
He was his father-in-law!
How dare he!
His secretary, standing to the side, was still on the phone. Every time they hung up and looked at him, their expression was fraught with anxiety.
The atmosphere in the conference room grew incredibly tense.
Charles Reed impatiently closed his eyes for a moment. "Alright, that’s enough. Let’s adjourn for now. I’ll handle this."
With that, he stood up and walked right out of the conference room.
The secretary followed behind him and said cautiously, "Chairman, a few more of our partners have called. They said they want to wait and see..."
Charles Reed, his face dark, waved a dismissive hand. "Alright, I know."
The secretary had no choice but to leave the office.
Furious, Charles Reed swept everything off his desk and onto the floor. He closed his eyes for a moment, then immediately took out his phone and dialed Walker Grant’s number.
But to his surprise, it was Walker’s special assistant, Dylan Finch, who answered.
"Chairman Reed, how may I help you?" Dylan Finch’s tone was strictly business.
Charles Reed demanded, "Where’s Walker Grant? Put him on the phone!"
Dylan Finch replied, "Mr. Grant is in a meeting. If you have a message, you can give it to me directly, and I will relay it to him."
’So he won’t even see me now!’
’Fine!’
Charles Reed hung up immediately and left the office building.
「The hospital.」
Inside the hospital room, the injury on Chloe Reed’s back wasn’t as painful anymore, but she still couldn’t lie down flat. She wanted to leave, but the bodyguards blocked her way.
Her face was pale, and her lovely brows furrowed. "What right do you have to stop me?"
The bodyguard was extremely diligent. "Mrs. Grant, Mr. Grant has given orders. Until your injury has healed, you are to remain in the hospital. Mr. Grant is only thinking of your health."
Chloe Reed’s hands clenched into fists, filled with a stifled, helpless anger.
Just then, she heard a sound from outside.
She looked toward the door and, through the glass, saw Charles Reed.
His expression was grim.
A bodyguard blocked his path, saying expressionlessly, "Chairman Reed, are you here to apologize to Mrs. Grant?"
A vein throbbed on Charles Reed’s temple. "I’m here to see my daughter! Let me in!"
But the bodyguard continued to block him. "But you don’t look like you’re here to offer a sincere apology. Mr. Grant has instructed us that if you have not come to apologize, we cannot let you in."
Charles Reed nearly coughed up a mouthful of blood in fury!
’These bastards!’
’He was their elder!’
’This is infuriating!’
But right now, with the Reed Group under siege, bankruptcy was only a matter of time if these attacks didn’t stop.
He was also coming to the clear realization of just how ruthless Walker Grant could be!
His previous gentleness and composure had all been a facade!
Charles Reed stood at the door, his expression uglier than ever.
He saw Chloe Reed inside the room. Through the glass, the father and daughter’s eyes met.
But Chloe Reed quickly looked away.
’That animal!’
Charles Reed cursed inwardly, then turned and walked away.
He went to Sunny Reed’s hospital room.
The two of them were on different floors but in the same hospital.
Seeing his dark expression, Autumn Linton asked with concern, "What happened?"
Charles Reed then told her what had happened at the company.
Autumn Linton’s face fell. "How could Walker do this? You’re his father-in-law!"
Sunny Reed was also shocked. "Dad, did Walker really make a move against the Reed Group?"
"Mm."
At Charles Reed’s affirmation, the atmosphere in the room froze.
