Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce
Chapter 202: We Have Grown Accustomed to Each Other
"Walker, are you even listening to me?!"
Infuriated by his dismissive attitude, Chloe grabbed him by the collar, her glistening eyes fixed on his.
Her fury did little to change his expression. He gripped her wrist and said, "I thought about it all night. I still don’t want to divorce you, Chloe. We’re not at that point yet."
Chloe gritted her teeth. "Aren’t you afraid I’ll kill Sunny?"
"Even if you killed her, we wouldn’t get a divorce." Walker’s gaze was exceptionally dark. He pushed her down to sit on the bed, leaning over slightly to look at her pale face. "Chloe, we’ve been together for so many years. We’re used to having each other around. How can we just talk about divorce so easily?"
Chloe wrenched her hand free and said coldly, "I don’t love you anymore."
"It doesn’t matter."
He was unconcerned. "If you could fall in love once, you can fall in love again."
Chloe desperately wanted to slap him, but it would be pointless.
He simply wouldn’t agree to a divorce, and there was nothing she could do about it.
Walker continued, "Is there anything else you want to eat? I’ll go get it for you."
Chloe didn’t answer.
"Don’t even think about a hunger strike. We’re in a hospital. I can just have the doctors put you on an IV drip. That trick is useless," he said calmly.
A suffocating tightness filled Chloe’s chest. She gave him a shove. "I don’t want to see you."
Walker froze for a moment, studying her face as if to determine whether she was telling the truth.
Just then, Madam Grant’s voice echoed from outside the room.
"You have some nerve, daring to block my way? I’m firing you, right now! All of you, get out!"
The old woman’s voice was full of vigor and utterly imperious.
The two bodyguards looked ready to cry but couldn’t shed a tear.
Just then, the room door opened. Walker stepped out, his expression impassive when he saw her. "Grandma, what brings you here?"
Madam Grant snorted. "If I hadn’t come, I’d still be in the dark about everything that’s happened these last few days."
With that, she shoved Walker aside and stormed into the room.
A cold, grim look settled on Walker’s features.
When Madam Grant saw Chloe, she immediately said, "You’ve got some nerve. Your father hits you a few times, and you have the audacity to demand an apology from him? Where in the world do elders apologize to their juniors? Aren’t you afraid of getting struck by lightning for being so disrespectful?!"
"Grandma!" Walker’s voice was dangerously low. "You shouldn’t be interfering in this."
But Madam Grant retorted, "If I don’t get involved, am I supposed to just let you run wild? Making a move against the Reed Group? Do you want the whole world to laugh at the Grant family? That’s your father-in-law’s house! You should be helping and protecting them, not suppressing and targeting them!"
Charles Reed had gone to the Grant residence today and told Madam Grant everything Walker had done. She had been furious ever since she heard!
She couldn’t just sit by, so she had come to the hospital immediately.
She glared at Chloe, her eyes full of displeasure. "You are just so adept at causing trouble. The Grant family has no use for a daughter-in-law who constantly stirs up drama."
Then, she turned to Walker. "Divorce her!"
Madam Grant was imposing, her attitude always condescending.
Chloe had been fuming, but after hearing Madam Grant’s words, she was secretly overjoyed. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
She immediately retorted, "Hah... I don’t just want him to apologize. I want Sunny to kneel before me. Otherwise, I’m going to raise hell!"
