Upon hearing this, Madam Grant’s expression hardened. "Walker, did you hear that? She just wants to turn the Grant family upside down so we’ll never have a moment’s peace! Hurry up, you two, go get a divorce right now!"

Chloe Reed struggled to suppress her excitement as she looked at Walker Grant.

Walker Grant was looking right back at her. His eyes were dark and profound, as if he could see right through her.

His tone was as even as ever. "Grandma, Chloe and I have been together for so many years. I’m not going to divorce her. I’ll sort things out between us."

He paused before continuing, "As for the issues the Reed Group is currently facing, they are indeed due to problems within the company itself. I haven’t interfered at all. What my father-in-law should be doing is investigating his own company, rooting out the issues, and fixing them."

Madam Grant’s brow furrowed. "Don’t give me these high-and-mighty excuses. I just want you two to divorce. Will you do it or not?!"

"No."

Walker Grant said grimly, his tone resolute.

Madam Grant’s fingers trembled. "You... You worthless grandson, how dare you defy me! Believe me, I can call a board meeting and have you suspended!"

Walker Grant looked at her wearily. "Grandma, at your age, you shouldn’t be meddling in the Group’s affairs."

Madam Grant felt dismissed. What infuriated her even more was that she had come all this way and accomplished absolutely nothing!

Absolutely furious, Madam Grant raised her hand and slapped Walker Grant across the face.

But the old woman had little strength, and the blow hardly stung.

"Grandma, you’ve hit me. Have you let off enough steam? I’ll have someone take you home," Walker Grant said, his expression unchanged.

Chloe Reed was deeply disappointed. ’Why didn’t it work?’

’Isn’t he afraid that I’ll really turn the Grant family upside down?’ 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

A sense of powerlessness washed over her again.

But Madam Grant dodged Walker Grant’s hand and said coldly, "You dare try to send me away? Walker Grant, don’t think you can just ignore me because you’re the head of the Grant family now. I’m staying right here today. We’ll just see if you listen to me or not!"

With that, she sat down in a chair, her posture making it clear that she wouldn’t leave until they gave in.

Then, she turned to Chloe Reed, her eyes filled with disgust. "How outrageous. You injured your sister, broke her bones, and yet you’re the one demanding an apology from your parents. Your family is truly unlucky to have a daughter like you!"

Chloe Reed gave a humorless smile. "Well, now it’s your family’s turn to be unlucky. I’m the Grant family’s granddaughter-in-law, after all."

Madam Grant: "..."

Chloe Reed continued, "He can’t keep me locked up forever. When I get out, first I’ll kill Sunny Reed. Then I’ll go to the Grant family estate, sell off Noah Grant, and then..."

"Walker, did you hear that!" Madam Grant’s eyes flew wide. "She’s gone too far! She’s completely out of line! She’s insane! She’s threatening murder! A woman like this will only drag you down! Divorce her! Divorce her right now, do you hear me!"

The old woman was completely overwrought. After her outburst, she began clutching her chest, gasping for breath.

It looked as if she was about to have an attack.

Walker Grant pressed the call button to summon a doctor.

But Madam Grant waved him away. "I’m not leaving. If you two don’t get a divorce, I’ll die right here today."

Chloe Reed raised an eyebrow and continued, "Noah Grant is the only male heir of the Grant family, isn’t he? Hmm, where would be a good place to sell him? Best to sell him abroad. If I sell him somewhere in the country, you might still be able to find him."
