Chapter 73: Chapter 73 Dual Synchronization

Oliver jumped down from Nyx’s shoulder. His eyes had become completely serious as he stared at Helton and the Chimera before him.

’This battle has dragged on for too long already. It’s better if I end it now.’ Oliver thought. He then summoned Husk from the system.

The moment Husk appeared, Helton instinctively stepped backward as cold sweat immediately formed across his forehead. The sheer size and overwhelming aura radiating from Husk caused his entire body to shudder.

"One after another, you just keep summoning monstrous beasts from your possession. It truly intrigues me how a youngster like you can tame monsters of this level. May I know your name? Are you perhaps the hidden son of some noble family I’ve never heard about?" Helton asked.

He possessed detailed knowledge of nearly every noble house within the duchy, including the monsters inherited through their bloodlines. There was no way monsters this powerful could exist without attracting attention.

Meanwhile, behind his back, Helton was secretly gathering dark energy within his hand, preparing to cast a spell at any moment.

"You don’t need to know my name. I’m just a commoner from an ordinary town. But I’m the one who’s going to kick your ass!" Oliver replied.

"Huh! Such vulgar words from someone who’s about to die! Dark Orb!" He immediately hurled a sphere of pulsating dark energy directly toward Oliver.

However, Oliver did not react at all. Instead, he smirked. Because he had already decided what he needed to do.

"Dual Synchronization!" Oliver shouted.

Immediately, both Husk and Nyx transformed into brilliant lights before dissolving into countless particles and merging directly into Oliver’s body. A violent burst of crimson and emerald aura exploded outward, illuminating the entire underground area with blinding radiance.

Helton instinctively raised his arm to shield his eyes from the intense light. Fear slowly crept into his heart from the sudden change. Without hesitation, he immediately ordered the Chimera to attack before Oliver could fully finish whatever transformation he was undergoing.

"ROOOARRR!!"

The Chimera roared furiously and charged straight toward Oliver. However, a gigantic crimson claw suddenly emerged from within the light and grabbed the Chimera mid-charge before violently slamming it against the nearby wall.

BOOM!!

"What?!" Helton was shocked after seeing the Chimera get overpowered so easily.

Suddenly, a violent burst of energy exploded outward and blew away the surrounding dust and debris. From within the light, Oliver slowly revealed himself. His body now carried both crimson and emerald colors.

His hair contained streaks of red and green, while his eyes had become heterochromatic, one glowing red and the other green. His attire had transformed into a battle form combining both colors as powerful aura continuously leaked from his body into the surroundings.

Oliver’s gaze had become extremely sharp. His right arm had transformed into a gigantic crimson claw, while his left arm had become a large cannon fitted with multiple calibers. A massive pair of emerald carapace wings slowly unfolded from Oliver’s back. At the same time, a long crimson tail emerged behind him and swaying through the air.

Oliver slowly raised the cannon.

"Homing Bullets."

Five gigantic bullets instantly launched toward Helton. Helton immediately transformed into a swarm of cicadas and tried to flee. However, the bullets chased after him through the darkness.

Explosions erupted continuously as more and more cicadas were destroyed midair. Soon, over half of the swarm had been wiped out and forcing Helton to return to his normal form. He crashed onto the ground headfirst before slowly raising himself up and saw blood trickled down from his forehead.

"Bastard!" he roared furiously.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the Chimera struggled violently against the giant claw restraining it. It immediately activated Frostrix’s ice abilities, freezing the claw all the way up to Oliver’s shoulder.

The frozen arm shattered apart as the Chimera broke free before charging directly toward Oliver. It raised its massive arm and smashed Oliver downward with tremendous force, causing a violent explosion of ice and debris.

BOOM!!

Suddenly, Oliver appeared above the Chimera. His right arm had already regenerated back to normal. Without hesitation, Oliver swung downward, grabbed the Chimera by the head, and violently slammed it into the ground.

BOOM!!

Oliver continued pushing the Chimera across the ground before suddenly extending his arm unnaturally far. The gigantic claw stretched forward and slammed the Chimera directly into a nearby wall.

After that, Oliver slowly pulled his arm back to normal length. As he landed softly on the ground, he stared at his own hands in fascination.

"So this... is the power of Synchronization? Why does this feel completely different?" Oliver muttered.

[Dual Synchronization allows all monsters involved to release a significantly larger amount of mana. This is possible because the mana from multiple monsters can stabilize and balance one another. Unlike standard Synchronization, where only a single monster must balance its mana output to prevent excessive mana overload and harmful side effects to the user.]

(Nyx... is... strong!) Nyx shouted inside Oliver’s mind.

(Don’t shout in here!) Husk immediately bickered back.

Oliver could not help but smile faintly after hearing the two monsters arguing inside his head. Right now, his stats had reached an overwhelming level. Just the total ATK from combining himself with both monsters had already reached nearly 300. An endless stream of power continuously surged throughout his body.

The Chimera slowly shook its head as it emerged from the fallen debris. Its sharp eyes immediately locked onto Oliver standing before it. Then, it aggressively flapped its icy wings while gathering an enormous amount of energy around its body.

It intended to finish Oliver with a single attack.

Coincidentally, Oliver was thinking the exact same thing. He began charging his cannon to the limit before suddenly dashing forward at incredible speed. His figure shot through the air like a crimson-green comet.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Helton was slowly recovering as the number of cicadas around him began regenerating once more. He watched the incoming clash with widened eyes.

The Chimera’s hands became covered in freezing aura before it thrust its hand toward Oliver. At the same moment, Oliver pushed forward his gigantic crimson claw.

The two attacks collided directly in the middle, creating a massive explosion that shook the underground world. However, Oliver was not finished yet.

Just as the Chimera prepared to swing its other arm, Oliver had already activated Quickstep and instantly appeared directly beneath it. His cannon was already fully charged to the absolute maximum.

"DIE!!"

A gigantic explosion instantly engulfed the entire area in blinding white light. The entire dungeon trembled violently from the impact.

Helton could not even maintain his footing anymore. In panic, he immediately transformed into a swarm of cicadas and fled upward toward the higher floors.

"Damn it!!" Helton screamed furiously while escaping. "Everything I’ve worked on for years was ruined!! Damn it!!"

On the upper floor, Aria and Ingram could clearly feel the violent shaking spreading throughout the dungeon.

"Oliver..." Aria muttered worriedly.

Suddenly, a swarm of cicadas burst out from the massive hole and rapidly fled across the boss room.

"He’s escaping!" Ingram shouted while pointing toward the swarm.

However, before they could react further, a blinding light suddenly erupted upward from deep within the hole and a catastrophic explosion followed immediately after.

Aria and Ingram desperately grabbed onto nearby rocks and debris to avoid being blown away. The entire dungeon trembled violently for several minutes before the shaking slowly stopped.

Ingram cautiously stepped toward the edge of the hole and looked downward. The moment he saw what was below, his face turned completely pale in shock.

"Ohh my Lord..."
