Chapter 2327: Chapter 659: Her Prestige

A few soldiers snapped to attention, immediately grabbing shovels and starting to dig alongside An Yiqing. In no time, the small opening gradually widened, revealing the situation in the basement.

Two large stones had fallen due to the collapse, forming a triangle area on the ground. Within this small triangle, a boy in his teens was barely breathing. His legs were trapped under the heavy stones, and his blood mixed with dirt, forming a deep red mess. Beside him, a Samoyed dog lay panting weakly, watching them with hopeful eyes. The dog’s white fur was stained deep red, looking particularly tragic.

The soldiers, seeing that the triangular area had not collapsed, breathed a sigh of relief. They crawled into the hole, first rescuing the dog, then began to figure out how to save the boy.

"The kid’s legs are trapped; we have to lift these two stones at the same time to free him." One of the soldiers inspected the stones. Both of the boy’s legs were pinned, necessitating a simultaneous lift for his rescue.

"How about bringing the small crane to try?" suggested one soldier.

The others nodded, signaling the small crane to come over. However, when the crane arrived, another problem arose. The crane could only lift one stone. What about the other one?

Everyone looked at each other, puzzled. Such large stones, could they possibly be lifted manually?

"Let’s all put in some effort and lift it," An Yiqing suddenly spoke. "This kid can’t hold on much longer; we need to act fast. Two people should stay to support the kid while the rest of us lift together."

Saying this, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and bent down again, grabbing a corner of the large stone. Seeing this, the other soldiers quickly assigned two people to hold the boy while the rest joined An Yiqing in gripping the stone.

"We can’t hold it for long. Once the crane lifts the stone, we’ll start lifting. You two must be quick and steady; be careful not to hurt the boy’s legs any further," An Yiqing instructed.

The two soldiers responsible for the boy nodded, gripping the stretcher tightly.

The crane roared to life, the hook and rope descended, binding the stone pressing on the boy’s right leg, and slowly lifted it. Simultaneously, An Yiqing shouted, "Lift!" Everyone worked together, gritting their teeth to lift the hundreds of pounds heavy stone.

"Quick! Now’s the chance!" An Yiqing’s face turned crimson, drenched in sweat, as if fished out from water. Her Inner Breath circulated rapidly, an invisible force lifting the stone, helping her and the soldiers withstand its pressure.

The two soldiers acted swiftly, placing the stretcher on the ground and gently lifting the severely comatose boy. Once they placed him on the stretcher and carried him away, An Yiqing and the others could no longer hold on, and the stone fell with a grunt.

They all plopped down on the ground, panting heavily. They couldn’t believe they had managed to lift those stones themselves!

An Yiqing took a handkerchief from her junior brother to wipe her face, took a breath, and stood up. She walked to the boy’s side, carefully checked him over, and began to insert needles.

The exhausted soldiers sat nearby, watching curiously as An Yiqing deftly wielded silver needles, all wondering who this girl could be. With such impressive medical arts and skills, could she be some hidden master?

The boy’s condition was dire; the two stones, each weighing hundreds of pounds, had broken both his legs. To have saved them was a stroke of luck, but expecting him to walk normally again was impossible. Looking at the boy’s mangled legs, An Yiqing bit her lip, feeling exhausted by her inability to do more.

This sudden disaster had robbed a healthy child of his legs, condemning him to a lifetime in a wheelchair. As a healer, An Yiqing had witnessed many of life’s ups and downs, yet she still found this hard to accept.

With the boy’s condition stabilized, An Yiqing had the soldiers carry him to the makeshift medical station, while she and her junior brother continued onward.

"Sister, don’t be too upset. The boy was lucky to have met you. At least his legs could be saved from amputation," her junior brother consoled, walking alongside An Yiqing.
