The opulent spacious interior of the Guildmasterโ€™s office did nothing to soothe the Guildmaster.

If anything, it aggravated him as he wanted nothing more than to battle the Hoarder. Sitting down in his office made him feel useless. ๐Ÿ๐š›๐•–๐šŽ๐•จ๐—ฒ๐›๐š—๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐•.๐œ๐—ผ๐—บ

He was currently alone as he had sent Lilith away so that he could think clearly.

He didnโ€™t particularly care for her advice as she was bound to tell him to take it easy and not let the Hoarder get to him.

He had scared off Tia earlier on too when he had gone berserk for the second time. The girl had ran off to avoid getting caught up in the destruction he had rained on the area when they couldnโ€™t find the Hoarder.

No doubt by now, she had told the other team leaders of how unhinged he was but he didnโ€™t particularly care.

Whatever semblance of control he had over the situation was now lost. He was at his wits end.

He needed nothing short of a divine intervention to know how to outwit the Hoarder.

His desire to kill Jeremy was so strong that he could feel it in his chest.

At that same moment, his environment changed and he found himself in a sparkling white corridor.

Strange enough, he found himself on his knees with his head bowed.

The overwhelming pressure he felt on his being was so great that he couldnโ€™t move a limb or look up.

He had a good idea where he was though as it was the only place that could give off such a powerful aura to make him quake in his boots.

Namely the corridor of the council of the Gods.

A clear voice rang out suddenly. It sounded like a waterfall of many voices in unison and the effect nearly drove him mad.

"Paul Lockerman, you have been bestowed with great power and chosen to wipe out the singularity named Jeremy Lewis but you have failed so far. Plead your case."

There was silence as Paulโ€™s mind raced as he wondered how best to explain the problem to the gods. At the end, he decided to tell them exactly how he felt.

"He is way smarter than me."

It was a shame to admit it but that was exactly how he felt. How else could he describe everything that had happened so far?

The Supreme beings were surprised at his response as they had expected something different.

Humans after all were fond of making a list of excuses to explain why they were inept at something.

The single statement from the Pawn didnโ€™t seem like an excuse and it rang true given what they themselves had witnessed over the days.

They wanted to hear more from their pawn before they could give a verdict.

"Plead your case."

"The Hoarder is tricky, manipulative and extremely evil. Because of his Alignment, he can go any length to win no matter how shady it is. He had always been steps ahead of me. I feel he has help from an otherworldly being. He simultaneously killed the General team and defeated the Boss of this week before we could get to it. It means he has also grown insanely strong too. Please, I need your help to defeat him. I canโ€™t do it alone."

There was silence after that as the Supreme beings conversed with each other.

The events of the past days had caused a pandemonium amongst their circle.

It was an irregularity because few things had disturbed the normal flow of events in the stream of time.

They had considered the job all but done when they had sent three Archangels to wipe out the singularity.

It was all going according to the plan until the table suddenly turned on them.

The singularity had not only escaped death but had beaten the archangels to a pulp before throwing them into his unique system. Once again, the systemโ€™s loophole had worked wonders.

Apparently the Archangel Sariel was now his ally and even helped him defeat her own kind.

As a reward, he had incorporated their essence into her and she was now a Celestial Archangel.

Never had this happened in any timeline and the upcoming consequences were damning.

They could only come to one conclusion.

The Supreme being A-67 was behind it all!

They couldnโ€™t explain how he went about it but the sudden newfound strength from the singularity when he was at the threshold of death spoke volumes about an interference of some sorts.

They had already made plans on how to deal with Supreme being A-67 when they proved their suspicions. For now, the eradication of the singularity came first.

Done with their council meeting, they addressed the pawn bowing in reverence before them.

"It is against our jurisdiction to be directly involved in these affairs but we would make an exception for this. The Singularity is already breaking so many rules at this point that we have to amend our rules if we are to win. Brace yourself as you receive knowledge that would put you ahead of the singularity."

Paul felt a warm glow in his heart as he heard the words of the gods. As usual they wanted to assist him again and he planned not to let them down.

"Thank you all so much. Iโ€™m honoured and ready to receive what you have to share."

Suddenly, images flashed in his head and blinding pain shot up his skull.

He fell on the ground whimpering as his mind was invaded by new sceneries.

The secrets of the Second Wave of the Apocalypse; the Mysteries that need to be challenged, the locations of each of the Bosses all flashed through his mind and were seared into his memory.

He now understood why he was told to brace himself.

He should have known better than to expect the gods to have a long chat with him.

It was the best way to transmit information if only it wasnโ€™t so painful.

When it was done, he was left cowering like a helpless child. He remained in the fetus position as the gods prepared to give him more instructions.
