SSS-Class Summoner: I only Summon Primordial Spirits
Chapter 4 — Clarifications
Sweat began forming on Laden’s back since he didn’t know what he was supposed to do now that he suddenly heard the voice in his head.
"Don’t be too tense; I won’t stay here for long. I just have something to tell you before I head over to somewhere for a while," the voice instructed.
Despite clearly hearing that he should try to relax and not attract attention, Laden still found it quite difficult to do in such a situation.
"The first and most pressing thing right now will be about the aftereffects of this summoning ceremony that will take place."
"You will need to be absolutely prepared," the voice said in a slightly fearful tone.
"But why can’t you just take care of the chaos yourself, you seem to have a lot of power," Laden said.
Everywhere grew quiet for a bit. "I can’t directly interact with the lower worlds, and that’s why I need you; if not for that, you would be dead," the voice said in a slightly helpless, slightly commanding tone.
"Okay, but how exactly am I supposed to stop the chaos? I was almost instantly killed the last time I was there," Laden said.
"That was because you were sent to the wrong area; the next time you enter things will be much different, but don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean it won’t be dangerous."
Laden instantly heaved a sigh of relief when he heard those words.
"The spirit world would always be a dangerous place," the voice said in a stern voice.
"So when exactly will the problem begin? don’t tell me it’s tonight," Laden asked.
"Time in the Spirit World, flows differently from how it does here, so no, it won’t be tonight, but it will soon, and you need to be prepared."
"That is, I have to get a summon first," Laden finished.
"Exactly," the voice said.
"My time is up now; I only came here to give you a warning," the voice said as it slowly faded.
"Wait," Laden suddenly shouted.
"Is there a particular Spirit beast you would recommend?" he asked.
The moment the question was asked, Laden’s mind grew extremely quiet, as if the voice were hesitating to respond.
"Once spirit beasts are up to fate, the only thing I can tell you is try to find the Sapphire tree the next time you are in the spirit world," the voice said before the voice completely faded.
"Sapphire tree, uhhh, now I have a lead," laden muttered.
"I wonder what Spirit beast I would get for the first time," he continued with a slightly excited tone.
Roooaaarrrrrr!!!!
Before he could let his imagination go wild, he was immediately snapped out of his mind by the world-shaking roar that just pervaded everywhere.
The roar was so loud, Laden started feeling a stinging pain in his eardrums.
"What the hell," he cursed before opening his eyes to check what was going on since he didn’t actually have anything he was doing.
Laden was immediately taken aback by what he saw, as directly in front of him was a translucent beast, but that wasn’t the main shocking point. What shocked Laden was that the beast looked extremely similar to what he had seen before back on earth while he was still a student.
"Is that a freaking flood dragon?" he said in shock, but when his eyes moved towards the person that had successfully summoned it, his eyelids twitched slightly.
"Why does it have to be him," he said frustratedly.
The previous owner of this body couldn’t be said to have many enemies since he tried to be easygoing, but there was the particular school bully that always tried to make things difficult.
It might be to just inflate his ego or something, but he always seemed to prey on Laden every single chance he got.
"And now, he had contracted a flood dragon as his first summon," Laden said dejectedly.
Most teachers and even the principal were all around the boy, fawning over him as best as they could, with the sole exception of the woman that had caught Laden’s eyes earlier that day.
After the first person successfully summoned his Spirit beast, others followed suit, summoning various spirits from fiery birds to Lightning snakes.
One of the summons even released a large spray of fire, causing the hall to go into chaos for a bit. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
The presence of such a vast array of Summons bathed the Summoner hall in the resplendent glow that even made Laden himself display a slight look of awe.
After a bit later, most students had successfully contracted a summon, leaving only a few students that failed to find a summon and Laden.
Laden was just about to stand up and pretend to look helpless and dejected when he suddenly noticed a shadow tower over him.
"Why are you here, Maxwell?" Laden said in a low voice.
"It seems that low-lifes will always be low-lifes; you even failed to find a summon, tsk," the boy called Maxwell said in a disgusted tone.
"I, on the other hand, didn’t just find some trashy summon like most people; I contracted a dragon," he continued.
"Hmph, Dragon? Since when are flood dragons true dragons?" he muttered under his breath.
Though he said it in a low voice, it was still loud enough for Maxwell and the people around them to hear.
Maxwell’s face immediately turned red in embarrassment and anger as he raised his fist, ready to strike Laden in the face, but just as the fist was about to land, a loud shout suddenly rang out.
"Enough."
The two boys looked to the side to see the woman walking over while maintaining her confident stride.
"Stupid brawls like this are allowed between summoners and normal humans, unless the normal human particularly initiated it or consented to it," she said.
"Do you want to get arrested?"
Immediately after he heard her words, Maxwell quickly shuffled backwards in fear of getting arrested, but from his face it was obvious he was still annoyed by the way Laden embarrassed him.
The woman finally got close enough, and she turned to Maxwell and said,
"Since he hadn’t consented, back off."
"Who said I didn’t consent?" Laden’s voice suddenly rang out in the mostly silent hall, attracting everyone’s attention.
