Jeremy saw the corpse of the Tier-5 Lizard. He immediately shifted his gaze to the surroundings. Everyone was fighting a distance away from the current spot.

Boom!

Just as he decided to go help others, his senses screamed at him. He couldn’t ignore it. He moved backwards.

At the same time, the ground in front of him exploded. A crack appeared. A weird mutated beast emerged from the crack.

Jeremy saw the beast. He was stunned. He had not seen a weird beast like this before. He was only familiar with dog-type mutated beasts.

But the beast in front of him was a four-legged one with high shoulders, resembling the twisted frame of a wolf and a reptile. It had a long, whip-like tail behind it that swayed behind the beast.

The pressure coming from the beast was that of a Tier-5 beast. The beast in front of him was clearly the strongest among the Tier-5s.

To think it could move around underground; he didn’t want to underestimate the beast. His gaze moved over the beast’s body.

The color of the beast was black and green. The skin on the body looked slippery. It was disgusting.

Jeremy covered the blade in starlight power. The edge of the blade was stacked with starlight threads in the blink of an eye.

Swoosh!

The mutated beast charged at him. It moved with terrifying speed.

Jeremy Night’s senses were heightened. He was using his eye power as well. He could clearly see every detail of the beast.

The beast appeared before his eyes. He used "Explosive Steps."

Force burst forth from his feet. The force propelled him forward. He evaded the attack. At the same time, he moved the blade in his hand.

Slash!

The blade swept across the side of the body. Upon instant contact, the scales cracked. The blade went in deep.

Roar!

The beast let out a weird roar. The next second, it swept its whip tail at him. It happened fast.

Jeremy withdrew the blade the next moment, by the time the whip tail struck the blade.

Boom!

The force from the Tier-5 beast impacted his body. His body flew backwards before almost crashing into the ground.

He shifted his body weight at the last moment before adjusting his position to avoid a bad landing. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

But he still fell on the ground. His body dragged a few metres away before coming to a halt.

Puchak!

On the other hand, a torrent of blood gushed forth from the blade wound. The mutated beast let out a roar in pain.

The severed blood vessels blocked its mobility. The next second, the beast used an earth ability.

It immediately submerged underground before disappearing from the spot. Seeing that, Jeremy Night was shocked.

He didn’t expect the beast to have this kind of ability. He had thought it would have limitations, but the beast had used it again.

When the beast was gone from the place, he stood up. He kept the blade close to his body. You never know where the beast could come from.

For the first time, he encountered this mutated beast in battle. He then walked around and finally moved deeper.

He was immediately targeted by four-legged Tier-4 beasts. But he quickly ended their lives. His real target was the Tier-5 beasts.

He was wary of the current situation. He didn’t want to repeat the same mistake. In the previous beast tide, he was abducted by the Wind Wolf. He was lucky enough to escape from that place.

Jeremy collected his thoughts and targeted the other corrupted beasts nearby.

Time passed

Nighttime came. Visibility became low. Eventually, everyone began retreating. Some of the Beast Tamers were returning to the city gate.

While the others were still engaging in the fight, there were some beasts which had the ability to fight in the nighttime. The nighttime is an excellent time for them to fight.

Swoosh!

Jeremy, who had slayed the corrupted beasts, decided to return. But his vision picked up an aerial-type beast coming towards him.

He gripped the blade handle tightly. When the beast got closer to him, his eyes caught the details of the beast. He saw the face of a massive bat-type beast.

"It’s a bat beast?" Jeremy moved his blade again. The blade flashed in the air before sweeping across the beast.

Slash!

The blade slash left behind a deep cut. The next moment, blood emerged from the wound. The beast made a weird sound before crashing into the ground.

It happened fast. The beast made a bad landing. Jeremy moved toward the beast and started stabbing at the vital parts.

Stab!

The blade severed the vital parts. Blood started to bleed from the beast’s wound. Seeing that, Jeremy Night left the beast alone on the ground.

He knew the beast would slowly bleed to death. Next, he started going back towards the gate. Though he could still see in this dark night thanks to his eye power, he didn’t want others to know.

Otherwise, he would die fast; he would be targeted by other corrupted beasts.

Swoosh!

He then returned to the side of the city gate. He saw others gathered at the gate as well. But the fight was still active in the wilderness.

Jeremy waited near the gate. He saw that other Beast Tamers were injured and battered. His expression was solemn. He could not judge anything.

The battlefield was still chaotic. The scene at the gate was chaotic as well. As time went on, more and more injured Beast Tamers returned.

As the night got deeper, the chaotic battle scene lessened. The noise of the fighting was reduced as well.

He could see the Tier-5 and Tier-6 Beast Tamers coming back. Seeing that, Jeremy Night sighed in relief. He was worried about them.

If the higher tiers were wiped out, who would protect them? He knew the Human Alliance would support them, but their help and rescue had yet to arrive.

They came last time as well. Because of that, the losses were great in the previous battle. He didn’t want the same thing to occur.
