Stanley looked outside at the world that was covered in a veil of rain. Then he looked inside at the metal contraption that was keeping him caged.

There was a shield in between him and the front two people that were most likely Defenders.

’No, they use some other words, right? What was it? Cop? Police? That’s it,’ Stanley thought. Assuming that they were the same as Sheila, it he would no longer have any reason to worry about her.

They could take care of her.

He finally relaxed and felt hot air blow out from the side of the metal, which surprised him. It made him feel a little better after running in the rain for a long time.

He relaxed and slumped on the seat a little, breathing in and out slowly. He turned his head towards the splattering sounds of the rain on the window and wondered what was going to happen to him now.

They thought he was a criminal. He wondered why they would think that.

He understood that this world was a little different than what he was used to, so he couldn’t rule out anything that he felt was out there.

At the same time, he also couldn’t rule in anything he felt was common sense in his mind.

The answer was easy for him at the moment. They thought he had hurt Sheila most likely. It wasn’t true, but those people had no way of knowing that, so it was obvious that they would take him.

So he started wondering how he could tell them that he wasn’t a criminal. Could he even? They didn’t understand his words at all.

He wondered if Sheila could tell them once she was up. He wondered how long it would take for her to heal if she could even be healed.

If she was up, they would most likely be able to tell that he was innocent. If she never woke up after this then... he would once again have to run away from another place.

Stanley looked down at the glowing metal rope that had him constricted. Could he get out of this if he needed to? He remembered that there was a way to tell. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶

His future sight activated as the two worlds layered over each other, moving on their own. One world was a reflection of the other one, which Stanley was now able to tell was constantly changing based on his own perception and intent.

He thought and even attempted to break out of the metal wire. Time had slowed down to a crawl when he thought of doing so, so he could see the flickering light on the metal rope’s shield as well.

When timed right, he could break the whole thing. It took him a couple of tries to find a successful future vision, whereas the other ones ended up a failure with his hands burning most of the other times.

He looked toward the shield in front of him as well, and that too blinked in and out at a slow rate. That would be a bit harder to get through by himself, however.

He finally stopped his future sight and time stop and looked outside at the world and the many passing hollow flying metal carts that went past their own.

The glowing power poles made a pathway in the rain that for some reason everyone was sticking to. He wondered why that was, but asking was not a choice that he had.

A few minutes later, the land around them started glowing as Stanley realized that he was getting closer and closer to the city.

He crept close to the window and looked down in awe.

The bustling city down below was a marvel of technology and architecture that was devoid in his previous town. The cityscape was full of vibrant and vivid light, all from multiple glowing objects in the city.

Stanley could see tall buildings and in some of those tall buildings, he could see some illusory women dancing around, some of which were so skimpily clad that it made Stanley embarrassed just by looking at them.

What surprised Stanley more than the size, the technology, or even the number of everything in this place was the sheer number of buildings.

Buildings that were as large as the veil themselves seemed to be constructed in each and every location around the city, surprising him so very much.

If the buildings were so large, then how rich were the people that lived there? And... just how many did?

He looked around, trying to see if the dulls were kept to the edge of the city here as well, but the thick rain made it really impossible to see the ground. After a few minutes, they flew into an open side of a building, the shield of which opened to allow them to enter.

Stanley turned around and saw the shield reappear after they were through. His face held awe and surprise until the very end when they stopped and the doors opened for the man and woman to walk out.

There were people already waiting there and they quickly took Sheila away.

"Where is she going?" he asked the man while pointing toward Sheila.

The man turned and said something, of which Stanley could make out a ’treat’. He understood that they were going to treat her and sat back.

He wondered why they weren’t taking him out at all when the two police got back in and flew away. He looked around and asked, "Where are we going?"

However, none of the 3 words that Stanley heard meant anything to him. Not being able to communicate was really annoying, so much so that he wondered how Sheila was even doing so when she was not from there at all.

Has she learned perhaps? That probably wasn’t true. She must have had something that helped her. He stopped thinking about it for now and only looked forward to where he was now being taken.

At the very least, he hoped where ever it was, they would soon figure out that he wasn’t a criminal.
