Given the amount of experience his skeletons were giving him, Luke assumed that the level of the monsters wasn’t that high. Naturally, the higher level the monsters are, the more mana they take to be created. Despite that, his skeletons only lasted for around two minutes... two thousand of them had been decimated in that short amount of time, and Luke needed many hours to be able to summon such a high number of monsters.
"For some reason, the whole army is moving at the same pace," Rina said while looking around. "The other monsters stopped when they noticed that some of them were fighting."
"They received orders to keep the same pace while maintaining a line..." Luke rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I suppose that they have some reserves behind, but their numbers shouldn’t be that high since they are doing this."
They weren’t being controlled right at the moment... so it means that the overlords were doing something else. Luke had no idea what it was, but it seemed that he would be able to gather a lot of dark elves without letting his enemies realize it. Still, when the monsters got too close, Luke confirmed that half of the people of that camp decided to stay behind and fight. It was madness, but they could do everything they wanted with their lives. Luke wished that he could be more persuasive, or that they could be less stupid since that was a literal waste of manpower.
"Let’s go to the next camp," Luke said.
While Luke was using the red crystal, the others stayed near the border of the fortress and saw those dark elves fighting. In the end, their spells of large scale made them last more than the skeletons, even though they only had five hundred people there, but they only lasted a couple of seconds more. The massive horde of monsters eventually trampled them.
Luke decided to make the fortress fly a bit higher when they were heading toward the next location. Thanks to that, he finally managed to get a good grasp of how wide that line of monsters was. It was at least twenty kilometers wide. As for the other lines, it was impossible to tell due to the dust curtain.
In any case, the evacuation of the other camps went almost perfectly since the horde was relatively far away from them. The only problem was the stubbornness of some dark elves that didn’t want to run away or didn’t believe in Seirion and the others. They assumed that Luke had brainwashed them and the promise of power was just a lie... Even those that came abroad also seemed a bit suspicious since none of them made the oath to become Luke’s followers. For the time being, Luke was fine with that. They will eventually realize that Luke and Seirion were serious.
Regardless, Luke used that chance of flying around to keep training his spells, and trying to make arrows out of fire and wing began to prove to be quite difficult. However, as the levels of the Manipulations began to increase, Luke’s control improved.
"This place is rather simple, don’t you think?" Luke asked.
"Are you talking about the main building as a whole?" Rina asked while frowning.
"Yes, since it is the commanding room of this ship, it has to be more flashy," Luke said. "Let’s make some windows and then a big table with some chairs to have meetings. We also should start to divide the dark elves into squads and put trustworthy people to lead them and make them pass information to us."
"I can see the point of everything you said, aside from the design of this place," Rina said. "We don’t have time to worry about that kind of stuff, right?" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
"I disagree, since Luke is now leading many dark elves, he needs to look imposing or the newcomers will look down on him," Shalia said.
"Speaking of newcomers, where is Danielle?" Luke asked. "I want her to go back to Earth and confirm that things are fine there."
Shalia sent a message to Sylah, and after a couple of minutes, those two showed up. They were walking around the fortress and checking things with the newcomers for whatever reason.
"Since we haven’t been that useful as of late, I decided to gather some Intel and make sure that one is plotting to do anything suspicious," Danielle explained.
"So, you were playing spies," Luke said.
"I wasn’t playing!" Danielle protested.
"You are a kid, you don’t have worry about stuff like that, leave it to the grown ups," Luke said.
"But you don’t act much like a grown up," Danielle said.
"You got me there... Still, It is because i am a cool grown up," Luke said. "Putting that aside, I have a mission for you. Go home and check things there and ask my parents if something has happened."
"That is more like an errand than a mission..." Danielle said and then sighed. "I suppose I don’t have any other choice."
That was supposed to keep those busy for a while, and Danielle will also feel that she was helping. Although she didn’t have to help since she was a kid, it was hard to act like one when everyone around was working seriously. In any case, Luke assumed that Danielle would stay there for a couple of hours, but she returned after just a couple of minutes.
"Uncle and the auntie wants to see you, big bro," Danielle said. "Apparently, something happened."
"This isn’t a good time... what exactly happened?" Luke asked after a long sigh.
"A cloaked figure is with them and that person wants to meet you, apparently, it is about someone called Frank," Danielle replied.
Cloaked figure and Frank, Luke recalled that person that they had rescued before, and it seemed that Frank was finally found.
