Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf
Chapter 336: Forward (1)
Do you wish to free them? Y/N
You are now the overlord of Frank’s followers.
You became the overlord of 25.454 humans.
The last notifications surprised Luke quite a bit... He became the overlord of a lot of humans because he defeated Frank. While that was weird, it wasn’t that surprising. Many features of the system worked and motivated overlords to kill each other, after all.
"Still, it isn’t like I can or should just order them around... Although it will be useful to have so many people giving me experience and gold coins," Luke thought.
You killed the last overlord of Earth.
You received Projection skill book.
Projection: by using your magic, you can give shape to something in your mind. The amount of mana determines how accurate the projection will be as well as for how long the projected object will exist.
That was another weird thing that happened... Why he didn’t gain some sort of reward when he did the same in the other worlds? After thinking for a while, Luke realized that he wasn’t the same at all. In Rina’s world, he let Cresta and the others leave, even though they were overlords. In Shalia’s, there was one that left before he could hunt all the others...
In any case, Luke decided to check Projection to see what he could do with it. He started with something small like the pebble near his foot, and he frowned when the space above his hand distorted and turned into the pebble. It was pretty similar... it didn’t consume much mana either, but since he didn’t think of how long he wanted that to exist, it soon disappeared into weird light blue dust. It was probably due to the mana...
"Shit... I feel like crap, but I need to solve some things before taking the next step," Luke said while he touched his left side.
In any case, Luke checked Frank’s body for items, but he only found a single ring. It was called a ring of concealment and could his parameters against those that had Appraisal up to Rare rank because that was the rank of the ring. Luke didn’t recall how come his enemies didn’t have such equipment before and still could hide their skills... Perhaps it was due to his legal of Appraisal. Regardless, he didn’t have anything else... Frank sure was reckless since he didn’t have a single piece of armor.
In any case, Luke returned to where he left his flying fortress, and then he headed to where he was supposed to meet his new followers. However, he frowned when he didn’t find any signs of them. The fortress was nowhere to be seen as well. It seemed that they could tell that Frank had died, and they didn’t want to risk being seen by Luke since his orders could only work while he saw them.

...
"I guess this is fine... I don’t want to waste too much time dealing with them," Luke said after a long sigh. "Besides, I was only planning on giving them a ride back home."
Just to be sure, Luke will have to check things with them to confirm that they won’t cause problems, but that would be easy since they couldn’t use Teleport on the fortress without being the real owner.
Putting that aside, Luke checked his status, and then he noticed that he had a shit ton of gold coins. His task was to look for overlords in other worlds and kill them and obtain power as quickly as possible, so he needed to use those coins in a wise manner in order to increase his chances.
Luke could learn tier sixteen skill books or buy tier twenty equipment with his current coins. He was finishing his armor with the magic ores, so he didn’t need to buy a new one. As for weapons, Luke had two very powerful ones already. The katana and the claws, Luke was already getting used to the claws, and he used plenty of swords, so it would be fine. So, it seemed that he needed a new skill book. Even though he already had his hands busy with leveling up the buffs and Projection.
When Luke checked the skill books available now, he found some truly interesting skills. Teleport, Gravity magic, light magic, elemental creation... As expected, the possibilities were quite varied when one had that many gold coins. In any case, gravity magic seemed interesting. Luke would be able to use it to fly and gain extra mobility even in difficult terrains. However, Luke changed his mind when he saw another one. It wasn’t much battle oriented, but it seemed interesting.
Spatial Magic
It grants you the power to manipulate space at your will and in numerous ways. The more complicated the use, the more mana you will have to spend.
Luke smirked when he saw that. It was probably a skill that would need a constant supply of mana, but at the same time, it would level up constantly. In any case, Spatial Magic probably would grant him the chance to use something similar to teleporting, so he wondered why that type of ability was on the same level as Teleport... it was probably because Teleport was instantaneous.
Luke bought the skill and immediately tried to use it. In his first attempt, he tried to replicate the second effect of the katana he had just got and create a space in which no one could access but himself. A place not bound by time... that was what he thought of creating, and some of his mana was used and kept being drained. Since it was only the size of his fist, and the skill was at level one, he ended up losing ten points of mana per second. That was around half of what he could recover in the same amount of time...
"I guess I should test if this place can actually stop time," Luke thought and then projected a copy of that pebble before, and this time, he gave it a five seconds time limit to exist. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Luke quickly sent the pebble to that space, and weirdly enough, he could see in his imagination a cube now and that pebble. It was really weird, was his imagination that good, or were the effects of both skills? Nevertheless, Luke waited for a while and then summoned back the pebble. After a couple of seconds, it disappeared.
"It worked, huh," Luke nodded to himself in satisfaction.
Luke confirmed that he could deal with the weakness of Projection, which was the time limit of his creations, with Spatial Magic. After doing some more tests, Luke confirmed that putting more things in that space wouldn’t increase the cost of mana. What would increase was the size, but even so, the level-ups of the skill would compensate for that, so it was fine.
"I think it is possible to project a copy of myself, but I probably don’t have enough mana to do so now or magic power for that matter," Luke thought while rubbing his chin. "Nevertheless, that kind of ability will be useful while looking for other overlords."

Teleportation Lv 35: 35.000.000
Current Mana: 133.522.664
In any case, after returning to his fortress, Luke upgraded it a little bit and then used the Search function. The hard part was about to start, which was to look for overlords all across the cosmos, and that won’t be an easy feat. Still, he will be able to gather more minions while he does that.
"If I stop using the mana to upgrade the fortress, I can move between planets quite fast... but finding overlords still will be a hassle," Luke thought. "I need to think of a way to track them faster if they are on a planet or not."
Such skill would probably come in handy when finding Aivern as well, but it would take a while for Luke to train it and make it reach the appropriate rank. Aivern certainly won’t let a half-assed skill cause him trouble... In any case, Luke already had a lot of skills he needed to practice, and the best way to get the mana necessary was to let his skeletons do the work.
Before choosing a new planet to go to, Luke returned to his hometown and then looked for some pens and paper. The list of the worlds he could go to was based on the distance between his current location and to the furthest place he could go. To optimize his movement speed, he had to write down the name of places he had already been. Earth, Jorik, Dillon 36... The second and the third were the names of Rina and Shalia’s worlds. He had no idea why they were named like that, though.
In any case, Luke selected the nearest planet that he could go to and just copied the name on the piece of paper. Once that was done, he went to check things outside the fortress and frowned when he only saw a planet where he couldn’t see anything but water. After leaving the atmosphere, Luke noticed that he just wasn’t teleported to an ocean. The whole planet didn’t have any land above sea level. Still, based on the color of water at some points, he concluded that only seventy percent was really deep. At the same time, the remaining parts of the world were shallow water.
"Was this due to the actions of an overlord?" Luke asked. "Someone who could summon Aquatic minions would benefit from this environment."
Before he could reach a conclusion, Luke dropped his skeletons on the shallower waters, and from above, he saw some shark-like monsters heading toward them. It was kind of amazing that they could do that while the water was just five meters deep... it was amazing that his skellies could move that well. Still, it was obvious who would win the fight.
"Oh, yeah... I can do that," Luke thought and then summoned his katana and then created a pretty large iceberg big enough to support one hundred skeletons.
Only fifty of those jumped toward it, and then Luke made others icebergs as well. From that spot, the skeleton archers and wizards began to attack the shark-like monsters. While they were pretty sturdy and fast, the skeletons’ level was above three hundred. It didn’t take long for them to be toasted alive.

While the skeletons were fighting, Luke used the mana they gained for him to make more ice platforms for the others. Still, they began to be destroyed quite fast since their resilience was low. They were ranged fighters, after all. In any case, when Luke finished the platforms, he just used the corpses of the fallen monsters to make more skellies.
