Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf
Chapter 338: Forward (3)
While Luke watched those poor beasts being massacred, he realized that he would have to spend a lot of mana. Since he could use that to train his skills, it was fine, but he thought that perhaps he should find a way to have a reserve. There was that skill that Rina and Shalia used, but Luke wanted something bigger.
It would have been nice if Luke could find an item that could help him with that, but he doubted that it existed. If that were the case, all the overlords would use it. Still, Luke had Mana Manipulation, and that was a rare skill that he couldn’t even buy with 32 million gold coins, so who knows what that skill could do? After thinking for a while, Luke couldn’t believe that he could just forcefully remove his mana cap. So, he needed a way to use his mana, but that he could retrieve it as soon as he wished for it.
Luke’s first idea was to create an armor made of mana that would cover his whole body and use it for defense if necessary. He also wanted to get the energy back, but that was too unrealistic. For a spell-like that to have two functions... It would be too much. Also, Luke was finished with his new armor, and he didn’t want a defensive spell.
"Let’s see... Potions are basically enriched juice with Spiritual energy," Luke thought. "Perhaps I can make something like that, but much smaller."
Luke tried to give shape to his mana while he gathered it on the top of his hand. When he did something like that before, nothing happened. However, now that his magic power has increased, the mana began to obtain a physical shape. Luke used around thirty percent of his mana to create a mana crystal. He could sense the energy inside it, so it seemed that it had been a success. The question was: could he eat it and recover his mana?
"I suppose this is how the second guy to eat a mushroom felt like..." Luke said and then ate the crystal.
As one would expect, the crystal was quite glass-like in terms of texture. However, Luke didn’t feel anything cutting the interior of his mouth. There was no taste either, so he could only wait that his stomach wouldn’t get upset... However, before that could happen, his body completely absorbed the crystal. The only problem was the fact that he didn’t recover the entire amount of mana he had used... only around ninety percent.
"Maybe the crystal uses itself as fuel to keep that physical form," Luke thought while rubbing his chin. "Still, this much loss is acceptable over time. Considering that it will stay in my storage dimension, it will be fine."
Luke began to make the crystals while the sharks were being massacred, and his mana was going up nonstop. Maybe he should use potions as well to help with that method since the monsters were dropping that quite a lot. They were also destroying them due to the battle, though.
Since he could do that much now with his mana, Luke felt that he had to experiment more with it. Perhaps he could learn other ways to get more. Still, he could do so after he has some leeway with his time. He was too busy leveling up Projection... to the point that he even let his buffs aside for a moment. On the other hand, he was starting to get the feeling of how to project more complicated objects. Although his memory was a bit blurry, he even managed to copy some guns that his father had in the past. The interesting part will be once he manages to project things that he had never seen before...
Around that time, Luke confirmed that the battle below had ended, and so he went to transform the corpses into skeletons. It would be really interesting if he could transform them into zombies while maintaining their original skills and parameters. Still, Luke didn’t have to make his flying fortress turn into a land of death. Regardless, while he was working, he kept his guard up for attacks from the overlord, but nothing happened.
"Are they hoping for a better moment to attack?" Luke thought. "They sure are carefree... But I don’t have time to waste here."
Luke couldn’t waste more than a week per world. At least that was his plan in the beginning. He had been there for ten days already, and while he had made some progress, he wanted to finish things there as soon as possible... Still, he would need some extra time to prepare for what he wanted to do in case the enemy kept wasting his time. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Regardless, Luke noticed that the sharks were no longer showing up, not even when he crossed the ice walls that he had created. Luke sighed after they confirmed that the overlord had no Balls. Since it has come to that, Luke decided to start his plan B. He began to send his skeletons to all directions of that world. While that would decrease their strength as a whole, it would serve another purpose... it would inform Luke to where he could find the largest concentrations of monsters.
Things got a bit slow after that, but now and then, Luke would get some experience, but only from monsters that were moving in small groups and probably weren’t under the control of the overlords. It took the skeletons around four days to find a place where they were decimated entirely and didn’t kill any monsters. Luke could tell what had happened because he lost the control he had over them and didn’t get any experience before it happened.
Once Luke confirmed the place, he made all the other skeletons retreat while he only sent some toward that direction. It was in one of the deep waters of that world, and Luke decided to approach it... From the sky.
