Chapter 344: Revenge (1)

The necromancer began to fly away while emerging numerous bone walls and putting them between them and Luke, but those shattered like glass the very moment his sword came in contact with them. Luke had also used Mana Manipulation to power up Stinger, so it was no surprise that it happened.

In the end, the necromancer also fired dozens of bone spears, some hit Luke’s arms and legs, but they only scratched him while he kept moving toward the enemy. Amidst their despair, the enemy had forgotten that Luke could only move in a straight line. Eventually, Luke’s katana touched the enemy’s body, and even before it could pierce it, it turned them into an ice statue. Luke sighed in relief because his sword was emitting so much cold that his arms were semi-frozen.

Treasure Ring: feeds it with mana in order to look for treasures around. The more mana you feed it, the larger will be the search area.

In the end, the necromancer was so weak physically that they died due to the cold instead of the actual physical attack. The entire area began to tremble, and also the poisonous swamps began to evaporate. Luke didn’t get any followers this time, but he was fine with it. He would have an easy time looking for the best items in his fortress, thanks to the treasure ring.

Once Luke began to investigate it, he noticed that the place was white toxic and had numerous cylinders connected that led to a single random room in the fortress. Those were sulking the poison and then sending it back to a weird water tank that had a heart inside it. Luke heard in some games and books that necromancers could take their hearts and hide them to become semi-immortal, but what was the point? Their brains couldn’t be moved...

"Still, to think that this guy could absorb poison and turn into energy... Was that a natural skill, or did he have to train it like crazy to reach Poison Resistance to that level?" Luke frowned while he was thinking.

The necromancer had a lot of items lying around. He had a staff that increased his Necromancy level by eight. Other items that grabbed bonus levels to the bones type skills and magic weapons that helped him use and control poison. Luke’s life was already too dark for him to use those. He didn’t want to feel more depressed than he already was.

"Let’s sink this fortress into the ocean and then head to the next world," Luke thought.

Depending on what he might find next, Luke might use his space magic to train, but he had a feeling that he won’t have to. Also, it was weird. He would get the skill and mental experiences of training for who knows how long, but time won’t pass in reality. That means that Luke will make progress to become stronger, but he won’t see his progress in freeing the others, at least not directly. For someone like Luke, that was really complicated. He was that impatient, after all.

As soon as Luke moved to the next world, he found an unexpected scene. Before his flying fortress, he saw two armies facing each other. One of them was an army of giants who were five meters tall and were armed with hammers and axes, and the other were people of normal sizes, but they had some weird physical characteristics. Like furry bodies, ears, and tails that resembled some types of animals. The second group was also fighting using weapons, but some of them used magic. Still, the giants side had the upper hand since they had endurance and strength that matched with their size.

"Well now... Who are the invaders, and who are the defenders?" Luke asked.

While Luke wanted power, he wouldn’t kill innocents without a care to do so. That would be putting the horses before the carriage... Luke didn’t mind picking fights with assholes, but he didn’t want to become the enemy of those who only wanted to live in peace. Regardless, even though Luke didn’t attack any side, some of them on both sides began to attack him. They thought that he was a third party that wanted to annihilate all of them... 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Let’s move away from this battlefield and check the nearby bases," Luke said. "The older the camps, cities, and towns, the more will be to identify the true inhabitants of this world."

Luke could also just wait and see the start of the next conflict to get a good idea of the situation, but he couldn’t stay visible to all of them for long. While that could work to lure the overlord, it was hard to be sure how well that kind of tactic could work. In the worst-case scenario, Luke would only be giving his enemies the chance to attack him first.

"Leaving the fortress and trying to move stealthily won’t work since the people of this world already know about me. Also, I can’t risk the overlord here attacking my flying fortress," Luke thought. "It will be a pain since both sides will think I am an enemy, but I will have to keep moving like this."

After a while, Luke found the remains of big cities that had been decimated by monsters, and the houses weren’t that big. They were different since some of them were mostly underground, some of them were at the top of trees, and others had a round shape. Still, it was clear that the world belonged to the demi-humans, not the giants.

Regardless, the battlefields got a bit more chaotic when Luke approached them, even though he hadn’t done anything yet. While he was in a hurry, he hesitated in suddenly jumping in and creating even more chaos in those places. He had to first contact the defending side and make them realize that he was an ally to avoid problems down the road.

Luke looked for the biggest camp nearby a battlefield, and then he parked his flying fortress nearby. Although he wasn’t carrying any weapons, the people from there split their numbers to stop his approach. Although he also raised his arms to show that he didn’t mean no harm, he still got attacked by numerous long ranged spells.

"... I am not your enemy!" Luke raised his voice while he dodged the spells by sidestepping. "I want to talk with your leaders, please!"

Luke didn’t do anything suspicious, and yet the attacks got more fierce. They certainly understood his words, so it means that those triggered them. Maybe they were tricked by someone who said the same things in the past. Still, that didn’t mean anything to Luke. He didn’t want, nor would he let himself, be judged by the past of those people. Also, he was fucking tired of being attacked. If cooperation wasn’t possible, then Luke just had to kill both sides... That kind of thought was dangerous, so Luke decided to hold back a little and give the demi-humans another chance to realize the truth.

Luke returned to his fortress and then unleashed all of his undead armies. He had dozens of thousands of knights, archers, and skeleton wizards, and a few dozen death knights. When the demi-humans saw themselves with the possibility of being attacked by two forces, they hesitated. Just to make his point, Luke sent five thousand skeleton knights to advance. When the demi-humans prepared to fight, Luke stopped his monsters, and then he returned to the front of the army.

"Do you guys understand this?" Luke asked. "I could unleash this army on your back, but I am here to talk. Bring out your leaders now, and..."

The demi-humans began to use Fireballs and earth spikes in hopes of killing Luke and his army. Judging by the level of their attacks, they probably had been dealing with that situation for a period shorter than earthlings. Still, Luke couldn’t care less about that anymore.

"Fuck it, kill them all," Luke said, and his undead army began to advance in full power.

Luke wasn’t a patient one, to begin with, so it was quite surprising that he only decided to retaliate after the third attack. Regardless, his skeletons began to fall since the enemies could use long-ranged attacks. Still eventually, the skeleton wizards and archers entered their range and changed the tide of the battle.

...

Call him spoiled, but Luke couldn’t help but sigh when he saw those notifications. The amount of experience and gold coins was pitiful. He would have better use for them if he forced them to become his followers, but it was hard to say if some of them would surrender in the end.

While he watched the battlefield, Luke didn’t feel anything, even though he was now on the attacking side and killing thousands of the inhabitants of that world. He wouldn’t say that it couldn’t be helped, but he also wouldn’t think too much about it. That was war, an interplanetary war. Many intelligence species would attack him at first sight without thinking of diplomacy because that was their nature. Also, after fighting for so long, of course, Luke would change his mindset. People can use pretty words to try to convince others of their sweet and naive ideas as much as they want. Still, you can guess that they have never stepped into a warzone and seen themselves in danger dozens of times.

Luke couldn’t let indecision slow him down for that and many other reasons. Besides, he endured their shit for quite along. He wouldn’t claim that he was in the complete right since he came to that world, but he wasn’t in the wrong either. Regardless... When the giants noticed that the focus of their prey was in two places, they began to like the fight even more, and they charged without worrying about strategy. Luke wouldn’t let them do whatever they wanted because of him. So, he used Water Manipulation to make it rain over them, and then he used lighting several times in a row, thanks to the mana he was recovering. Those stupid giants tried to protect themselves with their weapons, but that only helped the damage to spread to a larger area.

That was a little better, and since the number of the giants wasn’t small, then Luke could see that it would be truly advantageous to destroy them all. That was his goal, to begin with, may they be cloned creatures or not. It didn’t change a single thing for Luke. Eventually, more than seventy percent of the demi-humans of that camp were killed. It was a total disaster for them... so Luke wondered what they were planning to achieve by fighting two enemies at the same time. In any case, the most stubborn ones died first, and the others who hadn’t much spirit began to drop their weapons and fall on their knees, waiting for their death. However, Luke had better use for them.

"Bend the knee and swear your absolute loyalty to me, or die," Luke said after he approached to the first demi-humans who had given up.

The demi-humans noticed that Luke’s eyes were deadly serious. He will kill them on the spot if they refuse his commands. At that point in time, they didn’t know what options they had, so they did what he told them...
