Chapter 363: Tower (9)

Eventually, a lot of the sand of the desert began to emerge, forming a single weird creature. It resembled a ghost, but since it was made of sand, Luke was pretty sure it was a golem. When he used Appraisal, Luke only frowned.

"What the fuck... what is this thing that has a name that looks like the model of a cellphone?" Luke asked while frowning.

The creature kept increasing in size until Luke looked even smaller than an ant if compared to it. At the same time, the desert grew smaller and smaller. It was hard to believe, but the creature was from the desert, and the previous monsters were some sort of parasites. The parameters and skills of that thing were also weird. It was supposed to be a lot stronger considering its size, and as for its skills... They were rather shocking. To have all elementals basic skills up to the creation rank and all of them reach the epic level, which was probably the fourth one, it was insane and weirdly balanced.

Eventually, the monster stopped growing and then slowly looked around as if it was looking for Luke. He was like dozens of thousands smaller than the monster, so it was clear that he wouldn’t be found that easily. When the creature almost found Luke, he distorted the space in front of him and then made it reflect the other side. Thanks to that, the stupid large monster didn’t find him. It wasn’t very bright, and it didn’t have tracking skills, so Luke could do that much.

Once the enemy’s eyes were far away, Luke began to approach the head of the monster. He was quite certain that that thing was a golem, so he just had to destroy the core. Trying to attack that thing using ordinary ways of attack would be stupid. The whole dessert was its body, after all, and unless Luke could send the sand to another dimension, the monster would reuse its sand again and again... Fortunately, using his Earth Manipulation, he could control the sand around as he flew toward the head of the monster.

Luke tried to move as fast as possible. Still, even before he could reach the midway point, a massive earthworm jumped from the body of the monstrosity made of sand and tried to devour him. As usual, Luke cut the damn thing from inside, but he was getting tired of that putrid smell of the interior of the mouth.

"They really are parasites... gross," Luke thought.

The monster was made of sand, so the Essence Sword wouldn’t help Luke with that, but he still could use the parasites. However, that thing was too powerful and massive to be left alive for long. It wouldn’t be weird if Luke just suddenly is smashed like a bug from a single attack. He wanted to kill it as soon as possible. His idea was crushed when he finally reached the nape of the creature, and even before he could think of attacking, a massive wave of sand flew from there toward him.

Luke tried to move away as fast as possible, but the sand was faster than him. He had planned to use as little mana as possible in order not to be detected, and that still happened... without any other choice. Luke used space magic and returned to the ground level. The monster slowly turned around to face Luke. Even though its speed was high, the fact that its body was like that countered its speed.

Still, as if the monster didn’t have to see Luke to attack him anymore, the creature made numerous quicksand spots appear across the area. Where the quicksand couldn’t be found, several tornadoes and sand spears began to emerge as well.

"What a troublesome creature..." Luke said as he began to infuse his mana into the katana.

Before any of those could cause problems for Luke, he connected the space in front of him to the top of the monster’s head. Luke unleashed all that energy on the monster’s head in a single strike and froze it. The head was of the size of a massive island, but Luke’s magical power had grown enough to freeze all that instantly. Unfortunately, he didn’t receive any notifications.

"Shit... It isn’t here," Luke said and then punched the massive block of ice.

The attack made the ice fall a little, and while it caused some damage, the monster soon obtained a new head made of sand. That thing wasn’t a golem... All of a sudden, the head turned and then Luke saw himself facing some scary eyes. Before he could move away, the creature used its breath to send him away. The breath attack had been so powerful that even the grains of sand began to pierce Luke’s body. At the same time, he saw himself falling into a massive quicksand.

"If you want to play like that, then let’s play like that," Luke said.

Luke disappeared for a moment, and then at the same time, hundreds of level two hundred Koriri began to appear above the monster’s head. Those ice birds began to bombard the creature with their ice attacks, and even the hot sand began to freeze and fell apart from the monster’s body.

The creature began to lose a lot of health since the sand represented that. However, the health was quickly filled again, and with a single swing of one of its arms, the monster killed half of the summoned monsters.

"This won’t end unless I freeze the whole body..." Luke thought.

That wasn’t impossible, but Luke wanted to stay low-key for a while longer. Nothing good ever happened when his enemies decided to face him without holding back. Only his pride got a bit of a boost.

Before Luke could think if he had more options. The giant pointed its arms toward him, and then some projectiles were fired at him at super Sonic speeds. Those projectiles were many times bigger than him, so a single hit would be game over. Luke began to use Stinger to the sides in order to move faster. He focused only on dodging while he was thinking, and then the last of his summoned monsters fell. Perhaps if Luke could summon thousands of those, they could solve the problem for him, but he wasn’t really a summoner, so it would be fine if the enemy thought that he was. Still, that would be annoying... His pride was getting in the way again.

"I need to throw away my pride... This is the chance to get the power that I want to crush Aivern," Luke thought.

Luke couldn’t help but sigh. He hated inefficiency, but his pride always made him hesitate. It couldn’t be helped. While he threw away the power that he was given to, the other one that was discovered by himself was part of a reward of a battle. The more one uses the system, the more one realizes that it influences the users to keep fighting and killing other overlords. Luke wanted to do that from the beginning, but without feeling like he was dancing in someone else’s hands.

Still, Luke had an idea that would satisfy him at the last minute. So, he couldn’t help but smirk. It was a bit dangerous since he would expose himself, but one can’t have their cake and eat it at the same time. Luke put away his sword and then teleported to the top of the monster’s head. Once again, a wave of sand moved toward him, but by using Fury Punches with his left hand, he dispersed it and then landed on the head. The sand tried to grab Luke’s legs and make him sink, but he continued with the fury punches and dispersed all that. He kept attacking like that, and eventually, he began to feel his fists burning. The monster had that much endurance, and the sad was incredibly hot. However, that didn’t stop Luke.

When Luke has gathered enough energy on his right-hand thanks to Stamina Drain, the monster felt the danger to its line and then moved both arms to crush him. However, Luke ignored that and then used all his mana to power up Strength Support. He felt like his arm was about to snap itself when his power reached stupid high levels. In the end, he punched the massive monster, and the impact made all the sand on its body disperse. Luke saw their health decreasing to zero, but he knew that things hadn’t ended since he didn’t get any notifications.

However, Luke’s blast of energy reached even the ground and made the sand move to all sides, revealing a green crystal right below where the monster had been. That made Luke frown, he had never seen a green crystal before, and his surprise didn’t end there.

Those were the same parameters Luke saw on the sand monster. It didn’t seem like a golem, but that thing certainly was the core. Luke prepared to attack, but he was out of mana, and he kind of busted his right arm with that attack without the mana that he normally uses from the clones. Before Luke could think of what he could do, the core began to pull toward himself all the sand around, and its body was growing as fast as before. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖

"Ah, screw it..." Luke said and then went to his dimension. "I truly don’t have time to fight against brain-dead monsters. I will heal myself here and..."

Luke began to think about what just seen. The monster had another word on its name now... Was that a coincidence? And why the Nucleus instead of the core? Luke felt that he knew the answer, but he couldn’t quite grasp it... It was like it was a puzzle in his mind. One that he had found many pieces along the way, but he forgot to collect them because they seemed unimportant or that they weren’t a part of anything.

Luke tried to come up with an explanation while he was healing his body, but he didn’t find it. It looked like he would need to keep bumping in other pieces along the way to find the answer or the explanation that he wanted, but this time, he won’t forget the pieces.

Once Luke returned to reality, he didn’t waste time in using Stinger alongside all his mana. At the same time, he fell toward the new emerging sand monster. However, before the creature could be finished, his sword pierced and froze all the sand and then reached the Nucleus. When that happened, that was destroyed, and then all the sand of that place began to vanish and disappear like mana crystals that were being dissolved...
