Surviving the Apocalypse While Being Tempted by an Elf and a Dark Elf
Chapter 368: Tests (5)
The lightning bolt sound made Luke’s ears ring, but he didn’t have time to wait and recover. He felt two presences approaching from the side... Fighting against more than one enemy at the same time while holding back was suicide, so Luke decided to take out the kid’s gloves and prepare to take out the enemies as quickly as possible.

When the mana of his clone was absorbed by his body, Luke activated all his buffs and enhanced them even further. In a single motion, he swung his katana and then hit both enemies. They were armed with spears and tried to pierce his head. Thanks to that, Luke had the chance to Aim at their necks, but they reacted on time to twitch their necks. In the end, only their shoulders were cut and not deeply enough. They were sent in the opposite directions, though.
Before Luke could choose one of them to attack, he suddenly felt his body being pierced by something. He didn’t even see or hear them coming, but several arrows landed on him and pierced his skin slightly, very suddenly. Thanks to his enhanced endurance, that was something that he could endure, but if he hadn’t used his clone...
Luke looked around for a short while. He could feel a hostile presence around. Overlords that had been waiting for someone to appear and ambush. He didn’t know why they would together within groups of five, though. Trying to eliminate the competition would be something only weaklings would do like that. In any case, Luke could see a female archer charging her bow with mana in the distance. The two wounded spearmen that he attacked, and a flying mage, probably the one who cast the lightning. Still, there was one missing... he could tell that there was someone around, and yet, he couldn’t feel the presence completely and the location. The fifth member wanted to surprise Luke and make him worry like that as well.
Before Luke could plan his next actions, another massive lightning bolt fell, and he dodged by using Stinger toward the archer. Thanks to that attack, the entire area trembled to the point that even the atmosphere trembled. The mage was also a problem...
Regardless, Luke’s katana was stopped by one of the spearmen. Despite his buffs, he only pushed that guy away for a couple of meters. He didn’t charge Stinger, but still... Putting that aside, the remaining spearman tried to attack Luke from behind, but he kicked the first and swung his sword at the second. His attack was blocked once again, and Luke frowned since it seemed that the spearmen were twins or something. Both of them looked like mermen, but unlike the ones that he faced before, those two had green fins and eyes. Instead of tridents, their weapons were more like glaives.
In any case, by pushing those two away, Luke gave the archer the chance to attack. Once again, the arrows suddenly appeared already on Luke’s body. He clicked his tongue in annoyance since they hit the same spots as before and since the wounds hadn’t healed completely, the arrows pierced while suffering less resistance than before. Luke truly wanted to kill that annoying archer first, but the teamwork of those guys was troublesome, and they knew that they couldn’t let the archer be the first to fall.
"I suppose I will have to beat one of them half to death first, before I can bring them to my dimension... against this many enemies of this level, I can’t afford to play it safely," Luke thought.
The two spearmen began to move again, running around Luke to make sure that his focus would be split in several directions. He didn’t know what else those two could do aside from their physical skills, so he had to be careful. They might be trying to fool him, thinking that they were weaker than weaker than him.
Luke couldn’t see their status, but he could feel their presence, and they were on the same level as the female magician. That was enough for a warning... Suddenly, they threw their spears at the same time, and Luke knew that something was off since he felt the mana within their bodies suddenly spiking. Luke turned to the side and then used Stinger to gain some distance from them, but he felt the spears chasing him. They had imbued their mana into the weapons to do that.
That was annoying, but Luke didn’t stop. The weapons soon would catch him, and as long as he kept moving in the same direction, he would eventually have the chance to strike them at the same time. He turned around when he felt that the weapons were close enough, but then he felt the sky darkening above him, and at the same time, two arrows materialized a few couples of seconds away from Luke’s eyes. He felt like time had stopped when he realized the wrong spot that he was in for a moment.
In the end, Luke accepts the unavoidable. He moved his left arm to protect his eyes and then attacked the spears before him to intercept them. As for the lightning bolt, there was nothing he could do to prevent it from hitting Luke... Aside from using space magic. Still, he accepted the hit as a form to punish himself for that blunder.
When the attack ended, the enemies saw Luke standing while emitting a lot of steam from his body. His armor was quite damaged, and he had burn marks all over his body. Still, they didn’t drop his guard. They felt the spike on his mana at the last moment, so he knew how to protect himself. They prepared to attack again when the spears returned to their hands, but then they saw Luke gulping, and his wounds began to heal insanely fast.
