Chapter 386: Goal (1)

Luke charged again, and this time, his attack made the entire area tremble, even though Aivern jumped to the side and then dodged the attack. He looked at Luke, and then several deep cuts appeared on Luke’s body. That was annoying... His time magic was so powerful that he only had to look at the enemy, and then his attack would instantly land, but for some reason, he didn’t use that skill that often. In the end, Luke projected several copies of his sword, but they soon disappeared.

Aivern raised his guard since Luke didn’t seem the type who would take around without accomplishing anything. His family and friends were fine and free, but he still had his grudge, after all. All of a sudden, dozens of swords appeared around Aivern and then flew toward him. However, he made them stop when they were a few centimeters away from him with his Aura alone.

"An aura enhanced with the power of time magic..." Luke thought. "It can stop most long ranged attacks. Firing weapons like that won’t help... "

Luke furrowed his eyebrows. It was a pity that his attacks weren’t as effective when he used them with projectiles. Still, that was something that he had predicted. Luke held his sword tightly in the next moment, and then Aivern felt some stamina being concentrated there. He had fought an enemy that could use time magic combined with physical attacks. That combination could cause explosive single target damage, so Aivern raised his guard even more. Still, he didn’t expect that Luke would just punch the air and then push him backward for several kilometers.

The entire area vibrated, and then some cracks finally appeared on the tower... it was the first time that a purely physical attack had done that, after all. When Aivern finally slowed down, he saw Luke right above him, ready to swing his sword. He had planned to stop the attack with his reinforced arms, but then he realized that he wouldn’t be able to cancel all that damage from his stance. In the end, he just punched the ground to move backward even faster, and then Luke’s slash opened a fissure on the top of the tower.

"This strength... it isn’t normal," Aivern thought. "His ability to use so much stamina so fast is also surprising. What level is he?"

Aivern tried to use Appraisal out of curiosity, but he frowned when he saw that the skill didn’t work. Usually, when the skill was countered, one would find many interrogation marks, but Aivern didn’t even see that, which was more than a bit surprising.

"Don’t look so surprised, I still have a lot more in store for you," Luke said. "The best one will be the way that you will die, look forward to it expectantly."

Instead of anger, Aivern showed a small smile. He had the life experience of hundreds of people. He had experienced so many things over those years that he couldn’t remember the last time that something that happened amused him... That was such a thing. Still, he also had some surprises in store... Aivern summoned some dark and white spheres and made them rotate around him. They were so fast that Luke only could see theirs after images. Despite using the combination of four of the highest type skills, he still could use mana like that. Aivern was probably using many methods of others that he had faced to recover mana incredibly fast... Still, that didn’t make Luke stop.

Aivern dashed toward Luke, and then he furrowed his eyebrows when he saw a crystal in Luke’s hands. All of a sudden, the crystal disappeared, and then Luke’s arms suddenly got filled with tons of mana. Almost instantly, Luke swung his sword, and then a massive Sonic Blade was fired toward Aivern. He didn’t have time to dodge, so he just used the spheres and then his arms to block the attack. However, he was pushed backward violently by the projectile.

The Sonic Blade was so powerful that it even opened a larger fissure on the ground. Although it was twenty meters deep, there were still no signs of the lower floor... Luke wondered how thick those layers were. In any case, he probably had to go and follow Aivern since his attack sent him flying dozens of kilometers away in a matter of seconds.

With a single jump, Luke covered thirty kilometers, and then he found Aivern approaching. His cloak got a bit damaged, but he still was fine. Even an attack like that wasn’t good enough, but Luke could tell why. Just like his sword, the light element was a good counter for mana, so the more it touched the Sonic Blade, the more it lost some power.

"A pretty interesting thing what you did there, you didn’t use time magic at all, but your attack still was insanely fast..." Aivern said. "You truly have prepared many surprises."

"Do you want to see how to do that?" Luke asked and then created a mana crystal. "You just have to touch it."

Luke threw the mana crystal, and Aivern decided to catch it. In the end, he regretted that since he absorbed the crystal and then was bombarded with memories of having his body being bombarded by Sonic Blades while he was drinking poison nonstop. A single crystal had worth memories of an entire week, so for a single moment, Aivern tasted that hell. His calm expression finally disappeared at that moment, and when he returned to the real world, he saw Luke cutting his neck.

Aivern reacted on time to cover his body with the same combination of magic that his arms had, and that increased his defensive power. Still, he was pushed backward, and his body rolled on the ground dozens of times while his back was bleeding. It has been a long while since he fell for such a stupid trick...

Luke prepared another attack, but then he suddenly felt a punch on his face and then was put on the ground. He felt that... Aivern was a mage, but he had some heavy fists. In any case, Luke tried to get up as soon as possible, but then he got punched again. There was now mistaken... Aivern was using time magic and concentrated strike. In the next moment, Luke got hit in the stomach, and then his whole body was put against the ground. Then, he got smacked in the neck, making him gasp for air.

While he was being punched by attacks he couldn’t see, Luke felt the ground around cracking. Maybe he could use that chance to reach the lower floor and prepare some traps, but in the end, he didn’t want to back down in front of that asshole. Luke made another crystal charged with memories appear on his hand, and then Aivern raised his guard. His body was charged with mana, and then an armor made of light magic emerged. The invisible punches that Aivern was throwing lost their power in the next moment, and then Luke charged at him. Luke disappeared for a moment, and then he reappeared in his initial position. At the same time, the cloak covering Aivern’s body began to fall apart. He didn’t have time to react, but he could understand that Luke used light and time magic to counter his defenses. Still, all his mana dissipated after that single attack.

"This was my favorite cloak..." Aivern said.

"It doesn’t seem like you have many of them," Luke said while smirking.

Aivern sighed... He didn’t want to use that technique since it belonged to someone he hated in the past. He had never tried it before, but he knew that he could pull it off with ease... In the next moment, Luke felt his body getting crushed, and he began to destroy the floor below him in the blink of an eye. He crossed the thick layer of five hundred meters of that highly Resistant metal and began to fall to the fifth layer...

Luke didn’t know what had happened, but all his bones were broken. He had a feeling that he was punched hundreds of times, though. Regardless, he used another memory crystal, and his body quickly was restored. He also could do that as long as he creates them with memories of himself using potions of healing magic.

Before he could land on the fifth planet, Luke stopped midair thanks to Fly and then returned at supersonic speeds toward the sixth layer. Aivern was there, still waiting for him like nothing had happened. He sure was an annoying guy... instead of punching, he could have stabbed Luke over and over again, but it seemed that he wanted to feel Luke’s bones breaking instead of just cutting them. Luke knew that he was finally showing his real self now that he was getting annoyed.

"I suppose it is time..." Luke said after he summoned five mana crystals.

Aivern raised his guard since Luke always used those to cause trouble, and they were starting to get annoying since it was impossible to tell how they were going to be used. In any case, Luke absorbed those, and then his aura changed. The space around him began to distort due to the sheer amount of mana he was using. Not to mention, his aura even began to darkish red, like it was showing his pure hatred toward Aivern.

In any case, Aivern thought that Luke could easily combine the four great elements by using those crystals. Darkness, light, space, and time... by creating armors made with those, he truly would become a problem, but he didn’t do that. It was hard to believe that he didn’t think of it. Still, Aivern could feel that Luke’s strength received a crazy boost.

Luke disappeared, and then in the next moment, Aivern saw himself having his face being smashed against the ground. They reached the fifth layer of the tower, and faster than meteors, they landed on the fifth world. Before he could suffer even more damage, Aivern covered his body with the same skill "that he used to cover his arms and then disappeared. He also used space magic to move away from there, but Luke found him and punched him again, making him fly to the horizon.

"I told you to take this seriously..." Luke said. "Even if you escape my eyes, you eat too much mana with that spell, jackass."

Before he could even land, Aivern used gravity magic to make everything around him a lot heavier. The wave of gravity stopped Luke’s advance and made him fall. The power of the attack was so great that it even began to change the shape of that world.

Luke confirmed that just boosting his basic parameters like that wouldn’t be enough. Aivern could destroy an entire world using nothing like gravity, and only something of that level could stop him... Still, even if he couldn’t move, there were other ways to attack.

All of a sudden, Aivern felt and saw numerous copies of Luke’s swords appearing above him, and because of the gravity spell, they fell toward him insanely fast. Thanks to magic armor made of numerous types of spells, he didn’t suffer much damage, but his mana was being absorbed with each hit, and his spells were losing power. Thanks to that, it didn’t take long for Luke to be able to move again. once that happened, he used spaced magic to approach Aivern from behind and then grabbed his back before falling into the hole that he had created...
