Chapter 1184: Searching for more Rebellious Villages

From the information we got from the villagers here, it seems like most of the big cities here are already under the control of the cult. And if there’s suddenly a newcomer in a city, that person will be extremely suspicious.

Though once we have to kill the observer from the cult, the master level mage and not the weak mage they send to the village just to be killed, the villagers had to leave that village. Because it won’t be safe anymore for them.

Or maybe we will build a base officially there. Not a temporary base where we can gain information, but a real base. Then it means that we will openly pick a fight with the cult in this continent.

Using the boat I arrived there with, I started rowing the boat to the ocean. I will go to the next coast city or village. That’s the plan of the adventurous traveling doctor.

They are pretty convincing. The mermaids actually destroyed my boat. And I can’t lose in acting.

"Aah! Help! Monsters!"

And then I got pulled to the bottom of the sea by the mermaids. I look at the man in the sky with my Divine Vision and see that he has surprised look on his face. Maybe he didn’t expect that there would be mermaids in this area.

Maybe they will start investigating the area to find the mermaids. After all, they might still believe the myth about eating mermaid’s flesh will grant them immortality.

The good news is that where I am is actually on the opposite side of the island we build a base. This way, they will focus more in this area rather than the base.

I keep sinking deeper and deeper being pulled by the mermaids. When I’m too deep down in the ocean, I stopped the mermaid telling them that it’s enough.

I can’t speak underwater so I gave the signal that it’s enough so they stopped. Then they returned back to the island while I’m still in the water.

I swam away from there and came out far from where I was sinking. Now, he will think that I’m dead. And he won’t be suspicious if I created some trouble somewhere else. At least if I put on some disguise.

My mission is to go to many small villages in this continent hoping that they are fighting the cult just like the previous fishing village.

By the way, Sonia already left to do that first. But she’s moving to the other direction so we can cover more areas.

The way I’m going now is to the west. Back to where there are many people protecting the cities from invasion from my continent. Though I won’t go there. I’m looking for villages and this time, it won’t be villages near the fishing island. And I’m going there with Ray as soon as I left the water.

"Alright. From what the Village Chief said, there are big cities in these areas. We will avoid them and just look for any villages far from the cities. Let’s go, Ray."

Small villages that are not on the map that the villagers knew. That’s where I should go look for the small villages. Because all the known villages should probably have been under the control of the cult. But those that are not on the map, it’s less likely for the cult to know.

Good thing I have Victoria with me this time. She’s smart so she knows where we should go.

"We can’t go near the river because the cult should be able to easily locate them. At least the known river. If there’s any ground water, you can follow it. Maybe to a lake or water source that doesn’t exist on the map. But the map is from a long time ago so we can’t expect that it will stay the same," Victoria said.

"And how can I find a place that doesn’t exist in the map? Randomly roaming there?" I asked.

"That’s the best option we have. At least I remember where the big cities and the known villages are. Just go to somewhere with fertile land. Maybe somewhere near a volcano. Though the villagers didn’t know all the volcanoes in the continent," Victoria said.

Well, this is not the first time I’m roaming a continent. But it’s much boring than killing the cult members. Can I just find some cult member wandering alone and kill them?

Unfortunately, the smart people told me that I shouldn’t do that. In case those cult members actually someone important even with their weak level.

I found one that Victoria said it doesn’t exist in the map. So I secretly go there. But I quickly saw a church worshipping the Evil God so I quickly left.

"That one already fallen for the cult. Let’s find the next one," I said.

It won’t be easy finding one. Probably we can find one in a secretive place. Like in the Magicless Area. I’m pretty sure that it’s not a place that any normal person would live at.

Victoria also agreed to go to the Magicless Area. And it’s a good thing that the villagers in the fishing village know at least one place where you can’t use magic.

And the only person who can go there easily is me. Someone who doesn’t rely too much on magic during fighting. Even Sonia can’t go there easily.

"It should be further north of where we’re going," Victoria said.

So we continue moving up north. But we couldn’t find it in just a single day so we have to continue tomorrow. So I marked a place with a Blobby and stopped searching to rest.

The next day, we return back there. And after two more days moving north, we finally... still haven’t arrived at the Magicless Area yet.

Why? Because I’m also searching on the ground and stopped at some villages I saw. Though they all have a church at least in their village so I didn’t visit those villages. And it’s also because Ray didn’t use his real speed.

But we are now further north in this continent that everything we see is white. It’s covered in snow. And it’s at a high altitude so the place is always covered in snow and ice.

"Roy, you should change. Even if you can protect yourself from the cold with Aura, it will be suspicious if you stop at a village wearing light clothes," Victoria said.

So I stopped, get changed to thick clothes, and return to my journey.

"Do you think we can find anything here? Even if there’s a Magicless Area, it will still be impossible for anyone to live there if everything is frozen," I said.

"Not really. If there’s a single fire mage in a village, then there won’t be any problem with the cold. And if there’s a frozen lake, you can just dig deep in the ice and you can find water and fish. So it’s possible for people to live in this condition. But it’s not like there will be people there.

Good thing I wore white jacket. Because there’s nowhere to hide here. Everything is white. So wearing white clothes is good for camouflage.
