Unrivaled Soldier in the City
Chapter 541 In-Car Intoxication
Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang paused. It seemed his grandfather’s influence was at play here; otherwise, why would Xu Shanming say such a thing? Furthermore, it was clear from Xu Shanming’s tone that if his grandfather didn’t want to talk, Xu Shanming wouldn’t tell him anything, either.
"Alright, Grandpa Xu, it looks like my own grandfather can’t tell me, either," Lin Kuang said with a touch of helplessness.
"It’s not that he won’t tell you, it’s just that the time isn’t right," Xu Shanming said with a smile. "Don’t overthink it. When the time comes, that old man will tell you himself."
A helpless smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips. "But my grandfather doesn’t have much time left!"
"Don’t worry. Even if that old man is gone, someone else will tell you. You don’t need to worry about it," Xu Shanming assured him with a smile.
"Alright then," Lin Kuang said, a bit dejected.
The two chatted for a little while longer before Xu Chengjun returned to call the three of them for dinner. Xu Shanming nodded and invited Lin Kuang to eat, and Yao Wenwen naturally joined them.
At the dinner table, Xu Chengjun was still annoyed. He felt that Lin Kuang had made him lose face, so he started plying Lin Kuang with alcohol. He only stopped when Lin Kuang seemed dizzy and dazed, which finally satisfied him. In reality, Lin Kuang was only pretending. He could tell his future father-in-law was upset, so he simply feigned being drunk.
After dinner, Yao Wenwen drove Lin Kuang home.
"Alright, you can stop pretending now," Yao Wenwen said irritably, glancing at Lin Kuang, who was still feigning a daze in the passenger seat.
He coughed awkwardly as he sat up straight. "Ahem, you saw through my act, huh?"
"Hmph. I bet only Uncle Xu couldn’t see it," Yao Wenwen retorted, shooting him a glare.
"Alright, Wenwen, I’m actually very curious. What’s your relationship with the Xu family? It seems like you’re more than just best friends with Yingying," Lin Kuang asked with a grin, looking her over.
And the more Lin Kuang looked at Yao Wenwen, the more he was captivated. Her impressive figure and long, fair legs were incredibly alluring. Feeling his gaze on her, Yao Wenwen couldn’t help but blush. Her mind involuntarily flashed back to their amorous encounter, making her cheeks burn even hotter.
Seeing her face grow redder by the second, Lin Kuang stared, momentarily stunned. "Wenwen, you’re really beautiful," he murmured.
At his words, Yao Wenwen’s face grew hotter, and her heart began to pound. "Jerk! I don’t need you to tell me that, I already know!" she snapped, though she didn’t dare look at him, as if she were afraid of what might happen.
"Ahem, you’re pretty full of yourself. I was just making a casual comment, don’t take it to heart," Lin Kuang said with a grin.
His words made her face flush an even deeper red, but this time it was from anger. "Jerk, shut up!" she snapped, glaring at him fiercely.
"Ahem, don’t get so worked up. Angry women get wrinkles," Lin Kuang teased with a smile.
"Get lost! I’ll be angry if I want to be!" Yao Wenwen retorted. This jerk was just too infuriating.
"That’s not a good look. A temper like that will make it hard to find a man," Lin Kuang reminded her kindly.
"Jerk!" Fuming, Yao Wenwen slammed on the brakes, pulling the car over to the side of the road before reaching out to grab him.
Seeing his chance, Lin Kuang chuckled and pulled her into his embrace. "Look at you, Wenwen. Still so feisty." 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Held in his arms, Yao Wenwen blushed furiously and struggled, her soft chest rubbing against his and sending a thrill of desire through him.
"Stop wriggling, or I won’t be able to control myself," Lin Kuang whispered.
At his words, Yao Wenwen’s face turned even redder, and she leaned in and bit down hard on his neck.
"OW! You bite now?!" Lin Kuang yelped in pain. She hadn’t held back at all, and it really hurt.
Hearing his pained cry, her anger finally subsided a little. Hmph! That’s what you get for making me mad, you jerk! She finally released her bite.
However, the moment she let go, Lin Kuang made his move. He’d been bitten, and he couldn’t just let it slide—that wasn’t his style. He pulled her into his arms again and pressed his mouth firmly against her red lips.
Yao Wenwen’s body trembled violently, and she went completely limp in his embrace. Her mind went blank, and she just lay there, stunned.
Just as Lin Kuang was about to press his advantage, someone started rapping on the car window.
"Hey! If you’re going to do that, do it at home! You can’t park here," a traffic cop said with a frown from outside the car.
The voice stunned them both. The thick-skinned Lin Kuang didn’t care, but Yao Wenwen was mortified. As a girl, she was naturally shy, and to be caught in such a situation... she wished the ground would swallow her whole.
Shooting Lin Kuang a fierce glare, Yao Wenwen quickly started the car and peeled away as if she were escaping a crime scene.
"That had quite the lingering aftertaste," Lin Kuang mused, licking the corner of his mouth with a mischievous grin that was practically begging for a punch.
Hearing his flippant remark, Yao Wenwen’s body trembled, her beautiful eyes filled with a mixture of rage and shame.
"Lin Kuang, you’re an absolute, rotten bastard!" she roared, her body shaking.
"Hm? Am I? I don’t think so," Lin Kuang said, blinking innocently.
At this, Yao Wenwen ground her teeth, wishing she could slap the life out of him. He was just too infuriating! She shot him a venomous glare and said nothing more. In response, Lin Kuang simply continued to smile and watch her, infuriating her to no end.
"We’re here. Get out!" Yao Wenwen snapped, pulling the car to a stop in front of the Lin Family’s house.
"Alright, I’m going. Oh, one more thing," Lin Kuang said.
She instinctively turned to look at him, and in that instant, he leaned in and stole a quick, gentle kiss from her lips.
