Walker Of The Blue Sky
Chapter 376: Ch : Deep State Of Enlightenment
In his deep state of enlightenment, Emrys’s soul remained calm and silent as the Nine Absolute Rules of Eternity slowly revealed themselves before him.
Then suddenly, one of the nine lights above him trembled softly and descended slowly into his spiritual perception. It was like a drop of eternal starlight falling into a calm and endless ocean.
As it touched his soul, everything around him stopped. The wind no longer moved. The battlefield stood frozen. Even the flickering of light and the passing of shadows disappeared all of a sudden.
Time itself seemed to have stopped flowing.
The world fell completely silent.
Emrys could no longer feel the flow of time. It was as if the clock of existence had paused, allowing him to feel what existed beyond.
At the same time, the space around him began to shift. It became transparent, like a clear river. His golden eyes sparkled as he instinctively turned his gaze.
And what he saw was... everything.
Yes, he saw everything. He saw endless worlds spinning quietly across the vast ocean of space. He saw mountains rising and falling in faraway lands, universes collapsing and being born, stars exploding in fiery silence. He saw ancient worlds ruled by titanic beings, and he saw small hidden corners of the cosmos where even light dared not enter. He saw the birth of a fledgling Cosmic Field and the destruction of an old one. He saw a giant hand tearing the sky of eternity, descending to a vast realm, and grabbing it whole before crushing it down to dust.
For a moment, Emrys felt as though he had truly grasped the very essence of time and space.
It was at this moment that Emrys found himself actually comprehending the first Absolute Rule of Eternity, the Rule of Time and Space.
But just as quickly as he comprehended them, everything vanished on its own. It was as if an unseen force had severed the connection that had drawn the traces of the Absolute Rules to him and engraved them into his soul.
Everything he had seen and comprehended vanished.
The space returned to normal.
Time began flowing again.
Emrys, although he had yet to wake up from the deep state of enlightenment, was surprised and could tell that he had forgotten everything. His mind could no longer recall any of what he had comprehended. It was as if all he had seen was a dream, a vivid dream.
Perhaps, because Emrys was still in that bizarre state, he didn’t discover a change that occurred inside him.
Although he forgot every bit of the insight regarding one of the Absolute Rules of Eternity, a trace of that Absolute Rule of Time and Space remained inside him. It seemed to have etched itself into his soul, body, and even his Cosmic Essence Core.
This was exactly what happened when the Nine Soul Laws itched themselves into his soul.
A moment later, the second light descended, and just like the first one, it directly fused with Emrys. This time, it was the Absolute Rule of Life and Death.
In that instant, Emrys felt as if he had been split into two separate beings.
One half of him stood in a world brimming with life. He found himself in a warm, sunlit meadow where rivers flowed gently through the land, birds soared across a clear sky, and the scent of flowers filled the air.
Perhaps because Emrys was in a very strange state, the passage of time was bizarre here as well. Years passed by in an instant as Emrys witnessed children being born, families laughing, and entire villages rising with purpose and unity. Time passed like a gentle breeze, and soon those villages turned into towns, then cities, and then mighty empires full of dreams, culture, and brilliance. Emrys felt the heartbeat of life, the warmth of breath, the joy of beginnings, and the hope carried by each generation.
But the other half of him stood on a cold plain blanketed in mist and shadows. Here, he saw people march off to war, blades flashing, blood spilling. He watched as lives were taken without thought, without mercy. Villages burned, cities fell, and empires crumbled into dust. He saw sickness spread, famine consume, and age take its toll. All things, no matter how mighty, eventually met the same end. And with each death, something shifted in front of his eyes. Time skipped years or perhaps eras, even the world changed, and the next cycle began.
Emrys saw the faces of those who were born and those who died, those who laughed and those who mourned. He watched as generations passed like drifting leaves. And in those moments, he understood a deeper truth: "Every living being carried both life and death within them."
Life flowed into death, and death became the seed of new life. The end was never truly the end; it was simply a turning point in an unending cycle.
He felt this cycle. He understood this cycle. And he lived this cycle.
It was also at this time, that a trace of this profound rule etched itself silently into his very being as all his insights on Life and Death vanished.
A confused expression slowly appeared on Emrys’s face. His brows furrowed deeply as he tried to recall what he had just comprehended. He tried to reach his mind to the feeling of life blooming and the pain of death’s silence, but it was as though someone had gently wiped the canvas clean. No matter how hard he forced himself, the insights remained out of reach.
He stood still, struggling in silence for a while, before finally letting out a soft breath. He let go.
He no longer tried to remember.
Maybe, it was the calm brought by the mysterious state of enlightenment that helped him give up so easily. There was no regret and no frustration in his heart.
As a trace of the Absolute Rule of Life and Death silently merged into Emrys’s very being, a third light descended from above.
