Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 84 - 73: Philo is Unhappy
"Phew~"
After a long moment, Isaac managed to calm his excitement. In a voice still tinged with exhilaration, he asked, "Do you have a name?"
"No."
"Hmm, then I’ll give you one. From now on, you’ll be called Liu Li!"
"Understood, Master." Liu Li’s expression remained unchanged as she gave a slight nod.
However, a closer look would reveal a subtle change—the corners of her mouth had turned up by a few pixels. Clearly, she was very happy that Isaac had given her a name.
A pity it was imperceptible.
’Hmm, let’s see your abilities... Huh? Two Authorities?’ Now that he had calmed down, Isaac examined her abilities through the special connection they shared. But what he saw sent another ripple through his recently placid emotions.
It was because Liu Li possessed two Authorities!
Even Shushu only had one!
It was normal for Liu Li to have an Authority. While she was a Follower Isaac had created for himself, in terms of classification, she was actually a Demon God’s Favored, as Isaac had shaped her using the Power of the Demon God.
In short, he had used the power of the Flower Demon God to create his own Follower.
Thus, Liu Li’s race was Demon God Species, and she had inherited a rather common Authority from the Master of Billions of Flesh: [Invisible Hand].
Just as the name suggested, it allowed her to manifest four arms that were imperceptible to low-level beings. These arms possessed strength equal to her own and could move freely within her range of Magic Perception. Though common, it was an exceedingly practical Authority with impressive power.
Even if Liu Li couldn’t unleash the Authority’s full power yet, it would be excellent for assisting Isaac’s experiments or for combat. It was, at the very least, much stronger than Shushu’s [Commanding Rat Swarm].
But while obtaining this first Authority was expected, the second one came as a surprise...
[Perfect Form]. It allowed her to freely adjust her body, changing her appearance, gender, race, and so on. Before reaching Tier Three, it was a standard Support Authority that didn’t alter her intrinsic power. It originated from...
The Divinity Network!
That’s right, the Divinity Network!
Besides being a Demon God Species, Liu Li was also a Divine Species!
She was drawing two salaries!
With a moment of reflection, Isaac understood the origin of her connection to the Divinity Network. The story of *God Stealer* included a plotline where Isaac created a Deity. This plotline had combined with his real-life experience of transforming Shushu into a Divine Species, becoming integrated into the [God-Stealer] Legend.
The Followers he created were all Divine Species. In other words, all his Followers would have Dual Authority!
’All my ass,’ Isaac grumbled. ’There’s only one, isn’t there?’
Sensing the information within the [Legend], Isaac felt a bit glum. Currently, [God-Stealer] could only create one Follower. Raising that limit would likely be very difficult; it was certainly out of the question before he became a Grand Wizard.
Still, she was incredibly powerful. She could fight, infiltrate, and even assist him in his experiments. She was great, truly outstanding.
After all, despite Liu Li’s rather severe case of the ’three-no’s’—no expression, no words, no emotions—her intelligence didn’t seem low. At least, she was much smarter than Shushu!
As this thought crossed his mind, Isaac turned to look at Shushu on his shoulder and sighed.
"Squeak squeak?" Shushu tilted its head, looking at Isaac in confusion. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"It’s nothing. I just think you’re pretty cute." Isaac smiled and patted Shushu’s head. The rat narrowed its eyes and nuzzled against his hand, not noticing the pity hidden in Isaac’s smile...
Then again, it probably didn’t even know what pity was...
"Alright, we’re pretty much done here. Let’s head back for now."
His business for the day was complete. He would head back to rest, get a better grasp of Liu Li’s capabilities, and then proceed to the Flesh Sect headquarters tomorrow for the final preparations.
On the way back, Isaac delved deeper into Liu Li’s powers.
Her true strength didn’t lie in her two Authorities. Of course, that wasn’t entirely accurate—the Authorities themselves were very strong. It was just that Liu Li was only Tier One and couldn’t unleash their power. Only upon reaching Tier Three, becoming a High-level Creature, could one begin to tap into an Authority’s true potential.
Take Shushu’s [Commanding Rat Swarm], for example. In its paws, it was just a simple ability to summon and control rats. At best, it had a low cost, but its range was small. However, if that same Authority were in the hands of a High-level Mage...
...then they could develop incredibly powerful Authority Magic, using the Authority itself as the core component for casting!
Their range for summoning rats could encompass all of Philis Town, and they could apply specific enhancements to the commanded swarm, making them capable of anything—flying through the skies, diving into the seas, and burrowing through the earth!
Most importantly, even ordinary rats would instantly transform into Tier One Demons!
With a single spell, tens of thousands of Tier One Demons would appear...
That’s enough to wipe out a small nation!
And that was just the simplest application!
Of course, only in the hands of a High-level Mage could an Authority display such terrifying power. This was why High-level Mages were still referred to as Demigods.
Therefore, in Liu Li’s hands, both [Invisible Hand] and [Perfect Form] were merely slightly powerful, low-cost Skills. Her true strength lay in her physical constitution and Magic Power reserves, which were comparable to a Demon’s!
Furthermore, unlike Isaac, as a Demon God’s Favored, she possessed powerful combat instincts. She didn’t need to spend extra time honing her fighting skills; she was a natural fit for the path of Magic and Martial Dual Cultivation.
She would just need to study magic, but with her high learning capacity, she would catch up quickly.
Liu Li’s Magic Power and physical strength were both at the peak of Tier One, just a hair’s breadth away from breaking through to Tier Two. Once she polished her Combat Techniques, she would become a formidable fighter.
Magic, however, might be more troublesome. It couldn’t be rushed, and as for Tier One Arcane Art...
Frankly, it wasn’t as useful as a sword.
There were powerful forms of Witchcraft, but they were even slower to learn. It took Isaac a considerable amount of time even with his special advantages, to say nothing of Liu Li.
All in all, the advantage was his!
...
The next day, a well-rested Isaac excitedly drove his pumpkin carriage out of town with Liu Li and Shushu. Hiding in the shadows, Philo watched them go. Her brow furrowed upon seeing the girl who had suddenly appeared at Isaac’s side, and she turned to Remington behind her.
"Do you recognize that girl?"
Remington shook his head and said, puzzled, "Before becoming a Wizard, Isaac’s health was very poor. He rarely even left the castle, let alone his territory. He shouldn’t know anyone from the outside. Perhaps he met her after he became a Wizard."
As he spoke, Remington glanced at Princess Philo. ’Just like her,’ he thought.
"Is that so?" Philo turned to Angel. "What do you think?"
"We can just ask him the day after tomorrow. Since he’s bringing her along so openly, it’s clear he has no intention of hiding her from us," Angel said, taking a gentle sip of milk from her wheelchair.
"True." Philo watched the pumpkin carriage disappear from view, an inexplicable shadow creeping into her heart. From that girl, she had sensed the Power of the Demon God...
’To wield the Power of the Demon God so recklessly... That’s a sign of impending madness...’
