Soon, they got aboard and arrived in A after ten-hour flight.

After stepping off the airplane, Edie told Clyde first.

It has been five years.... lots of changes here. But it still looked so familiar for Edie.

After taking Laty to her school, Edie bought a house near to the school. There were two bedrooms with a living room. Quite suitable for Edie and her daughter to live in.

This time, she really didn’t want to leave.

Edie hoped that her daughter could grow up in this city, in the place she was familiar with.

Though Zabreg was quite suitable for them, it was not her hometown.

Maybe this was her hometown.

***

In September, Edie sent Laty to the kindergarten and started a new life as Edie Jackson in A.

Edie could no longer use her old name. Besides, she shouldn’t use her old name anymore. She didn’t want to use Greg as her last name, either. Therefore, she decided to use Clyde Jackson’s last name. After all, he was her family.

Edie has dissolved her photographing team. Then she took her camera to the beach, to old streets or countryside, to take pictures for those strange scenes she felt familiar with.

Laty fitted in a new life in her school soon.

It seemed everything has developed along the right lines.

Well...except that Laty didn’t want to wear girls’ school uniforms. Besides, she didn’t like playing with anyone in her school.

Her teacher thought she might be autistic. So she decided to talk to her. When she held Laty’s little hands and asked, "Laty, why don’t you play with others?"

"They are all stupid. I am not interested in them."

Laty shrugged her shoulder innocently. She was totally not an autistic. On the contrary, she was active and considerate. To make Edie not to worry about her, she forced herself to play with others.

But she really couldn’t understand why those girls like to go to the washing room together. Would they fall into the toilet if they go there alone?

However, when her desk-mate invited her, Laty still accepted the invitation kindly.

As a result,

She found her desk-mate couldn’t wipe her own ass. She wanted Laty to wipe for her.

Holy crap. Was she kidding? She must be kidding.

She was neither her teacher nor her babysitter. She didn’t need to wipe anyone’s ass.

Laty immediately went to find her teacher for help. But it took her a long time. They would be late for class. Then her desk-mate started crying in the washing room loudly.

As for Laty, she stood there and crossed her hands on her chest, watching her desk-mate crying, crossing without saying a word.

As a result of which, her teacher drew the conclusion that Laty was an indifferent girl without a kind heart.

Therefore, Laty followed what her teacher had said and pretended to be indifferent to everyone in her school. Only in this way can she stopped others inviting her to the washing room.

Apparently, her teacher was not satisfied with Laty’s reflection.

So her teacher talked to Edie. She hoped Edie would pay more attention to Laty’s health in mentality.

When Laty told Edie everything at night, Edie was amused.

"Could you try? When I was a kid, I also went to the washing room with other girls."

"What are you worrying about? Fall into the toilet? Why do you need accompanies to the washing room?" the little girl was totally confused. She asked Edie seriously.

"...."

Edie really didn’t know how to explain to her little daughter. This might be the culture in the campus.

"All right. Then you should talk to your teacher more often. She is as smart as me. You can talk to her, right? You can put up with me, right?"

"Miss Lara, if I tell you the truth, promise me not to be too sad" Laty said seriously.

"Tell me. I won’t be sad."

Hearing Edie’s answer, Laty took a deep breath and said, "Miss Lara, I talk to you because you are my mother. That doesn’t mean that I can put up with your intelligence. If you are not my mother, I would never want to talk to you, frankly speaking."

Hearing these words, Edie wanted to burst into tears.

So Laty was standing her silliness all these days.

After this conversation with Laty, Edie no longer got involved in her school life. She allows Laty to live in the way she liked, as long as she was happy.

Edie was a freelancer. She could get free time often. So she always made some cookies or cakes for school and gave out among teachers and classmates. She wanted them not to discard Laty. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

She hoped they dissed Laty because she had only a parent.

Since Laty was born, Edie would be fond of children so much, especially those beautiful and smart kids. She really liked to invite them to her house and cook for them.

Because Edie was quite beautiful, most kids liked her. No one ever refused Edie’s invitation.

Almost everyone in this kindergarten got the invitation from Edie.

Sometimes, Laty felt so lonely. She was so smart that she didn’t want to be bothered to talk to those stupid people around her.

Laty always wondered whether Edie was really her biological mother. To confirm this, she even went to the hospital to get the hospital certification. She finally ensured that Edie was the one that gave birth to her.

She had to acknowledge that this stupid woman was her mother.

On Friday, after school, Laty stood at the school’s door, looking at those little kids going and coming. She finally felt relax.

She finally didn’t have to waste her time refusing her little desk mate without hurting her feeling.

When students got out of school after class, cars on the road in front of the school were all supposed to stop.

Stuart’s car was one of those cars.

It was October. His grandpa’s mourning day. He also wanted to visit Edie’s mother. Meanwhile, he needed to talk about the cooperation with the Hawk. So Stuart stayed here these days.

"Sir, look, the boy you saw at the bus station," Ivan screamed out.

Stuart was closing his eyes to take a rest. When hearing Ivan’s words, he opened his eyes immediately. He looked through the black window, fixing his eyes on the boy standing in front of the school.

He wore a red school uniform. His short hair was so clean and soft. He crossed his hands on the chest. His face was so pure and pretty. His eyes were black and shining. But deep in his eyes was indifference.

He looked so indifferent towards the world around him.

If he didn’t wear that boy uniform, Stuart might think he was a girl.

A girl was pulling the collar of his clothes tightly and looked at him. It seemed that the little girl was begging him to do something.

Did she like this boy?

But Stuart didn’t remember this boy could speak English. He spoke French to his mother. When Stuart talked to him in English, he didn’t even throw an eye on him.

He didn’t expect that this boy was studying in A.

Stuart’s eyes turned darker. He didn’t know why this boy attracted him all the time.

He opened his mouth and said to Ivan, "Wait for me. I want to talk to him"

Ivan answered immediately, "Okay, Mr. CEO."

Then Stuart went off the car and walked towards that little boy.
