Earth was now full of mutants, and soon enough, non-mutants became outcasts in the society. The system only favoured the powerful and scorned the weak. And that was when Leo woke from his coma of 78 years on planet Luxus.And this, guys, is where the story starts...Leo managed to survive the nuclear attack with some strange hidden quirk he didn't know he possessed. When he opened his eyes 78 years later, he was on planet Luxus, being taken care of by his mind communication partner, Loca. But there was no time to frolic. He has to get back to Earth and try to rediscover that powerful quirk that saved him from the nuclear attack. To do this, he must attend Earth's quirk academy to learn all he needs to get stronger. He knew somewhere within him lies the most powerful quirk ever in existence, and his only aim is to rediscover it. He must become stronger, beat earth's power system and one day help the top earth Avengers fight off the Xollante race.But first, he must overcome every obstacle thrown at him from his fellow Earthlings and fellow mutants before he could even think of fighting the aliens.He must attain the highest rank level possible to atone for his sin as a child for not saving Earth when he was informed.His guilt being the major drive, he soon found that the highest rank was within reach of him, but can be pay the price?This story incorporates the use of hi-tech weapons and ancient weapons, and the use of acquired quirks to wield these weapons to victory. After being greeted by his hungover mother in the morning, Ryuji goes to school and is happy to find that he gets to be in the same class as his best friend Yusaku Kitamura and crush Minori Kushieda. However, it is then that he unexpectedly knocks into “the school’s most dangerous animal of the highest risk level” — Taiga Aisaka — who just happens to also be in his class, and is a good friend of Minori.

Ryuji says he will do anything to get closer to Minori, which Taiga exploits, making Ryuji her personal servant, and getting him to do household chores like cooking and cleaning for her. Taiga spends a lot of her time over at his house, so much so that she could almost be considered a member of his family. Since Ryuji spends a lot of time with Taiga, he is opened up to her world and to a side of her that most people do not see. The two also attempt to help each other in order to improve how people view them. Unknown to them, however, people they know from school start to become curious about their strange relationship together and rumors begin to spread about them.
