10,000x Reward Multiplier: Hell-level Kingdom Building-Chapter 28: [0] Gathering Population
Floki’s eyes fluttered open and were greeted by the beautiful clouds in the early morning sky, which sent a nostalgic wave of peace through his mind, reminding him of his early morning jogging routine back on Earth.
Nevertheless, the peace could not balance his troubled heart, as he was constantly reminded of the horror he had witnessed.
"YOUNG CHIEF!"
"CHIEF FLOKI!"
"SAVIOUR!"
His thoughts were broken as several screams blasted into his ears from around him, and he was quickly surrounded.
Anton, Jabba, and the women he had rescued, who were now covering their bodies with makeshift clothes made out of leaves, stood over him with relief washing over their faces.
"You guys..." Floki let out in a weak voice, as his body was still clearly tired.
Then a hand suddenly came from above his head and caressed his face warmly.
Only after the hand began caressing his face did he realise he was currently resting his head on the lap of a woman.
Fazed by the realisation, he lifted his head slowly and turned to see who it was. It was none other than the black-haired woman, the one who revealed the location of the dungeon core and also the one he had rescued first.
Unlike back at the den, she now had a warm smile on her face as she stared at him, with gratitude clearly visible in her eyes.
Floki’s gaze lingered on her for a short moment before he turned to the others, whose eyes were still fixed on him.
A frown appeared on his face as he noticed he was only seeing thirteen out of the fourteen women he had rescued.
Upon closer observation, he realised it was the chubby woman he had rescued last who was missing.
Instantly feeling concerned, he asked the women.
"She is sleeping over there."
They then pointed towards a tree where she was sleeping peacefully, covered with a big leaf that was even taller than her.
"Ahh... thank heavens." Floki was genuinely relieved that she was alive.
Yet, unknown to him, his simple act of caring for her sent warmth through the hearts of all the women.
Even Anton and Jabba were touched by the caring heart of their chief.
"You should rest a little bit, young chief, or do you want us to carry you back to the village?" Jabba asked, his voice filled with concern.
"No..." Floki shook his head and responded, "We have more hunting to do."
"But young chief, you’re already worn out, and it is already morning. Finding monsters to hunt would be very difficult," Anton responded.
The women only listened as the three of them discussed hunting, wondering if they were not tired after what had just happened.
The women mostly cared about Floki.
After all, they had seen how he fought a huge number of goblins and even took down a goblin champion by himself before the mysterious black-attired man showed up.
Not only that, he had even risked his life to get everyone out of the goblin den before it was destroyed.
They believed he should seek rest more than anything at the moment, and as a result, they were surprised to see that he was still planning to hunt.
Such a hardworking and caring man. No wonder he managed to become a chief at such a young age.
However, unbeknownst to the thoughts of the women, Floki continued his discussion with his men.
"It is okay, Lord Floki. Despite it being widely known that monsters only raid the forest at night, there are many types that dominate the daytime. Maybe if we are fortunate, we could find some of them," said Jabba. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
Floki nodded.
’I want to at least reach silver rank before I leave this forest,’ he concluded.
That was his goal at the moment.
Nonetheless, he could not help but begin to worry about his people back at the village.
What if they were suddenly attacked by the Blackstone Village?
But he shook his head at the thought, knowing fully well that Blackstone was not against the whole Ironside Village, but against him, as he was the one who possessed the Crystal of Authority.
At the same time, he was also doubting their safety.
After all, Viktor was killed this morning. What if his killer raided the entire village and killed everyone before he returned?
’Why am I so negative?’
Floki shook his head and pushed those concerns away.
Nonetheless another matter of concern surfaced.
Breeze.
Who was he really and why did his men react with so much hatred and anger upon seeing him and most of all, why didn’t he have any memory of him?
He was curious and would love to know but there was two things he had to take care of right now. First was about the women and the other was checking the items he obtained from the wheel of legacy.
’System, isn’t population important for the development of my territory?’ he asked.
[ Positive. Population is just as important as everything else in terms of territory development. You cannot upgrade your territory to the next rank if the population does not tally with the new rank. Nonetheless, this can also be bypassed. But due to your Hell-level mission difficulty, I cannot reveal it to you. ]
Floki felt a wave of frustration as he read the last part. But knowing that being frustrated would not help matters, he remained calm and turned to the women.
"What village are you all from?" he asked.
"Wayan Village..." the black-haired woman was the one who responded.
When she mentioned the name of the village, Floki noticed the sadness in her eyes.
Coincidentally, the other women also became visibly sad.
’Great. They seem to hate their village. This is a perfect opportunity to bring them into my village,’ Floki thought inwardly with a faint grin. Outwardly, he maintained his gentle expression.
"You all do not seem happy about your village. Is there anything about it you would like to share?" he asked.
Anton and Jabba also positioned themselves properly to listen, just as curious as their young chief to find out what made them feel that way.
The women all exchanged worried glances, and then the black-haired woman began to narrate.
As she did, Floki’s eyes widened with shock, while Jabba and Anton became visibly enraged.
