Cherry just gave Aiden a quick kiss, but he remained frozen in his spot, still kneeling in front of her. He couldn’t believe what had just happened.

"Close your mouth before a fly enters inside," she said teasingly.

Hearing her words, Aiden quickly pursed his lips. Then he gazed at her.

"W-What is the meaning of that kiss?" he asked her with uncertainty in his tone.

Cherry gave him a faint smile before responding, "It simply means... You are now my boyfriend!"

Aiden’s jaw dropped, and he staggered back, causing him to sit down on the ground.

"Are you sure? Is this true? You are not joking, are you?" he asked again for confirmation.

This time, Cherry let out a soft giggle. "You silly boy. Do I look like I’m joking?"

He shook his head frantically. When realization finally sank in, Aiden quickly stood up and pounced on her, hugging her tight.

"Oh, Cherry! You made me the happiest man today! Thank you for giving me a chance! I will make sure you will never regret this."

Aiden couldn’t contain his joy and excitement as he continued clinging to her.

Cherry could only smile helplessly.

"Can you tell me why you accept me? I’m really curious," he asked expectantly. He wanted to hear her reason for accepting him as her boyfriend.

"I know you are a good man. After listening to Sis Jane’s advice, I decided to give him a chance. After witnessing how Sis Jane falls in love with Nathan, I suddenly find the courage to open my heart to someone. And it’s you who reached out to me first. And for the past few days, you made me feel so special. I appreciate your sincerity and efforts."

"You are even willing to change for my sake," she added.

Hearing those words, Aiden’s heart felt so touched. He didn’t expect that Cherry could see him as a good man.

"I’m so glad that you began trusting me. I will never disappoint you. You can beat me and kill me if ever I make you cry. I am willing to accept punishment from you."

Cherry giggled once more at his last remarks.

"Stop overthinking. Let’s just go with the flow. Don’t force it. We will start discovering more about each other as time goes by. We can also be honest with each other if we somehow learn things we don’t like about ourselves."

Aiden nodded in agreement. "I promise, I will communicate with you with my sincere heart. I’ll tell you everything that I need to say. Either good or bad things."

"Good. Now, let’s go back inside and join the others." Cherry grabbed his hand, pulling him toward the door.

Aiden grinned from ear to ear while watching their entangled hands.

"So, today, our relationship as a couple finally begins!" He declared with enthusiasm.

"Yeah, sure!" Cherry agreed.

Aiden smiled triumphantly. "Can I inform my buddies that I’m no longer single? If it’s okay with you, I want to announce to everyone that we are officially a couple!"

"I don’t mind it at all."

"Yey!" Aiden punched the air as he rejoiced. He marked today as the most memorable day of his life.

He didn’t expect that Cherry would end up his girlfriend.

’I’m glad... I listened to Nathan and Stephen. I should thank them for their encouragement. They are truly my best buddies!’

Meanwhile, at Mr. Hiroshi’s villa, in the underground basement, there were also two people trying to form a deeper connection with one another– it’s Hanabi and Alexander.

When the long, passionate kiss ended, the two of them started to catch their breath.

Alexander was still holding her in place. His right hand was on her back while the other was gripping her wrist.

He rested his forehead on hers, still trying to savor the remnant of that passionate kiss.

"Do you hate me, Hanabi?" Alexander broke the silence first.

He let go of her wrist, capturing her face. His fingers began caressing her right cheek as he waited for her response.

"No. I don’t hate you," Hanabi responded with certainty in her heart.

A tender smile tugged on his lips when he heard that. Relief could be seen in his eyes.

"If you don’t hate me... then do you like me too?" He boldly asked her.

Hanabi was too hard to read. He didn’t know what was running through her mind right now. He needed answers from her.

"I don’t know," Hanabi said, feeling a little bit confused.

She couldn’t understand her real feelings either.

"Alright. Let me rephrase my question... Do you care about me? Are you worried about my safety?" Alexander looked at her intently.

Hanabi was silent for a moment, analyzing her own feelings before giving him an answer.

After a while...

"Yes. I do care about you and your well-being. If not, then I wouldn’t be here... treating your wounds," Hanabi admitted.

Alexander’s smile widened further. "That’s great. It only means... I might have a place in your heart."

"Don’t worry. I won’t rush you. We will take it slow until you become accustomed to your feelings toward me. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll stay here with you until you finally figure out your feelings for me."

"So please... Don’t push me away, Hanabi. Allow me to stay by your side," he requested.

Alexander was having high hopes, thinking that someday Hanabi would eventually acknowledge her feelings for him. He would never give up on her.

"What do you mean by staying here? Aren’t you going back to Country J?" she asked him in puzzlement.

"No. I won’t go back there yet. I have to stay here for a year, and I have to serve your Clan Leader. It’s a part of our deal. I will become your organization’s hostage... as compensation for my grandfather’s mistake. Starting today, I’m no longer the leader of the Red Dragon Mafia. Jack will be the leader... in my absence."

Hanabi was dumbfounded when she heard that revelation.
