365 Days of Rejected Proposal: CEO's Rebellious Pet-Chapter 169: Jenson Forrest Really Kept a Woman
Zinnia Lawrence frowned, her good mood swept away.
Although it was an unknown number, she knew it must have been sent by Crystal Sutton.
Zinnia furrowed her brows, about to add the number to the blacklist.
The number sent her another picture.
Zinnia didn’t want to look and was about to exit the message box when a slip of her hand enlarged the photo.
Seeing the people in the photo clearly, Zinnia’s heart skipped a beat.
The photo was obviously taken secretly, on a plane, the man showing only half of his side profile.
He sat there, with a sleeping woman leaning on his right shoulder.
Due to the angle, the woman’s face couldn’t be seen, only her curly, thick long hair, suggesting she was likely a young, beautiful woman.
She slept leaning on him, and he gazed at her affectionately.
The scene was beautiful, full of atmosphere.
If the man in the photo wasn’t her husband who said he was coming home to have dinner with her, Zinnia would definitely have admired it as full of love.
Zinnia’s fingers were icy, almost trembling as she swiped the photo away.
[You should recognize, this is Jenson Forrest’s private plane. You fool, this woman is the real one he brought back to the country, the one to protect at all costs, I’m just a decoy.]
[Zinnia Lawrence you are so pitiful, address given to you, and you don’t dare to take a look? Coward!]
Crystal’s provocative messages came one after another.
Zinnia breathed heavily, almost trembling as she added the number to the blacklist.
The phone finally went quiet.
But Zinnia’s world seemed to have been hit by a storm, churning in her heart, whistling in her ears.
Her face turned pale, standing there dazed for a long time before dialing Jenson Forrest’s number.
The man answered quickly, Zinnia’s voice was tense.
"Third Brother, lunch is almost ready, where are you?"
Zinnia held her breath, praying Jenson would tell her he was on his way home.
But from the phone came the man’s apologetic voice.
"I have something come up last minute, can’t make it back, you eat with Grandma first."
"But..." Zinnia’s voice trembled lightly, trying to salvage some proof.
"Seventh, be good." The man said, then hung up directly the next second.
Zinnia held the phone, her five fingers weak and limp, nearly dropping the phone.
Granny Tilton came out of the villa with a craft knife just in time to see Zinnia driving off.
Granny Tilton took a couple of steps after her, shouting in confusion, "Third Young Madam, the meal is ready, where are you going?"
Zinnia seemed not to hear, the car sped out of the gates, quickly disappearing.
Anxiety, fear, doubt, disbelief churned in her heart...
Emotions heavy and entangled, her heart was already in disarray.
Crystal had succeeded.
She didn’t know what was waiting for her ahead, but she didn’t want to remain in confusion.
She just wanted to see it with her own eyes, gripping the steering wheel, there remained a trace of hope and belief in her heart.
Jenson Forrest wouldn’t disappoint her.
However, when Zinnia parked the car outside the Mount Aeridor villa, she happened to see two people coming out from afar.
A tall, upright man, oh how familiar.
And the woman beside him with chestnut wavy hair, petite figure, wearing a grey plush coat, looking just like the woman in the photo.
The two talked, coming out from the villa side by side, walking to the car.
Jenson stepped forward two steps to personally open the backseat door for the woman, and thoughtfully raised his hand to shield her head.
The woman bent to get in the car, her figure paused a bit, looking up to say something to Jenson.
The man looked down at her, nodded, a gentle breeze-like smile on his thin lips.
In that moment, they were extremely close.
As if with the slightest initiative, they could kiss each other.
After the woman got into the car, Jenson also entered, he too got into the backseat, Jenson rarely got so close to anyone like this.
The car soon drove off, disappearing from Zinnia’s view.
But Zinnia remained in the position of holding the steering wheel, looking ahead, motionless.
Her body became an ice sculpture, cold from the inside out, a slightest breeze could shatter her into pieces.
She saw it, Jenson Forrest really kept a woman in the house she personally decorated!
How could he be so cruel!
Until the car window was knocked twice, Zinnia suddenly came back to herself, gasping intensely.
After a while, she slowly looked outside.
Crystal stood outside, bending to peer in with the car window, signaling Zinnia to roll it down.
Zinnia slowly lowered the window, Crystal looking at her with a mocking smile. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
"Sister, your current expression is really something! Tsk, it’s even uglier than crying, your face white as a ghost."
Zinnia knew how pathetic she looked now, how ridiculous.
Her small face icy, eyes equally filled with scorn.
"Anyone can mock me, but you Crystal Sutton might not have that right, after all, you desperately cling on only to end up with nothing."
"Zinnia!"
Crystal was hit in the lungs, her features twisting in anger.
But she quickly composed herself again, smiling as she continued.
"Zinnia, don’t you want to know the identity of that woman just now? I can tell you, this time, it’s up to you to come or not."
Crystal gave Zinnia a meaningful smile, then turned to walk towards another car hidden a little further away.
She got in and drove off.
Zinnia closed her eyes, and still slowly followed in her car.
Half an hour later, in a café, the two sat opposite each other.
Crystal stirred her coffee, appreciating Zinnia’s pale face as she spoke.
"Zinnia, you really shouldn’t have come back, staying abroad would have been better, but you insisted on coming back to live in a daydream, knowing you’re just a pitiful substitute, I even feel heartbroken for you, Jenson just now..."
"I look nothing like that woman just now." Zinnia interrupted Crystal.
From a distance earlier, Zinnia couldn’t see the woman’s exact features clearly.
But from the outline and figure, she and that woman were far apart.
"Ha, who said only looking alike makes you a substitute?" Crystal took a sip of coffee, before slowly speaking again.
"Zinnia, don’t you get it, Jenson Forrest’s cold nature, heartless, cruel disposition, someone could die in front of him and he’d still kick them aside for being in his way.
Such a person, why did he take you under the Forrest Family when Big Brother Lawrence kneeled at their door begging him, and why was he so good to you from the start?
You thought you were special enough? Ha, Zinnia, you wouldn’t still naively think someone would be good to another for no reason, would you?"
Crystal put the coffee cup heavily on the table, sneering: "He was kind to you only because of that woman earlier, he only sees you as her substitute!
Zinnia Lawrence, oh Zinnia, don’t you think about what makes you special, enough for him to treat you so differently! If not for a twist of fate as a substitute, you’d be just a sewer rat in the slums, destined to die at the hands of your biological father York Lawrence!"
