Chapter 324: Encountering Big Brother at School

It was still early, so the two of them wandered around the campus. Universities all look pretty similar, and Xu Minglei would carefully explain things to Xu Mumu whenever he had questions.

The more he learned, the more Xu Mumu saw the sparkle in the little guy’s eyes. She knew she’d achieved her goal: to capture his attention and motivate him to study harder.

"I wonder where my brother is. I really want to see their rehearsal." As they walked, Xu Minglei thought about his big brother, whom he’d left at home. His big brother always bullied him because he was small and easy to pick on, always competing for the bed. When he grows up, he’s definitely going to pay him back, hmmph.

"I don’t know either, but their school anniversary is tomorrow. We can come and watch then." Xu Mumu said with a smile.

"That’s true. Sister, let’s head back. Granny has probably taken Fengfeng home by now." Xu Minglei, having enough of the outing, suggested they return.

"Okay, let’s go. Anything you want to eat? We can buy it on the way back." Xu Mumu laughed, feeling accomplished for raising such a considerate younger brother herself.

"Sister, I want some canned fruit. I haven’t had it in a long time." Xu Minglei looked eagerly at his sister. These delicious yet somewhat pricey snacks were never bought by anyone at home when she wasn’t around.

"Let’s go buy some. Anything else?" Xu Mumu asked generously. She’s quite a little rich girl now, carrying plenty of cash around to buy lots of things for the house.

As the siblings were about to leave the school, they bumped into Xu Minghui hurriedly coming through the gate with a pretty girl beside him. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Seeing Xu Mumu and Xu Minglei, Xu Minghui was clearly startled. He didn’t expect to run into his brother and sister here. Then again, it’s the holidays for them, so it made sense, though he didn’t expect they’d come to his university.

As Xu Minghui was lost in thought, the girl beside him noticed his change and slightly altered her expression as she assessed Xu Mumu. Xu Mumu was beautiful, and she was no competition.

Xu Minglei wanted to say hello, but Xu Mumu stopped him. Her eyes narrowed, and then she quickly approached Xu Minghui: "Minghui Brother, I finally found you." Xu Mumu clutched Minghui’s hand and wouldn’t let go.

"Mumu, what brings you here?" Xu Minghui said helplessly, perplexed by what his sister was up to.

"Xu Minghui, who are they? Aren’t you going to introduce me?" Jiang Yuxiu’s voice was somewhat stiff. She had been eyeing Xu Minghui for a long time. Xu Minghui never had other female classmates around, and he treated those he knew well. After observing for so long, and suddenly seeing such a pretty girl emerge, Jiang Yuxiu felt a little overwhelmed.

"Are you Minghui Brother’s classmate? I’m Minghui Brother’s sister, nice to meet you." Xu Mumu deliberately left no room for Xu Minghui to interject. Her brother was too dull. He even needed her help to find a girlfriend. Oh my, the girl seemed nice, but it was unclear if she was strong-willed. Must have a formidable sister-in-law to handle their outrageous parents.

Jiang Yuxiu: "..." Is she really his sister? Why does she find it hard to believe? She looked at Xu Minghui with doubt, wondering if this guy wasn’t a straightforward person.

"Hello, I’m Jiang Yuxiu, Xu Minghui’s classmate." Jiang Yuxiu smiled, but was now more critical of Xu Minghui.

"Sis, don’t mess around. This is my sister Xu Mumu, and this is my younger brother Xu Minglei." Xu Minghui explained helplessly.

"Really your sister?" Jiang Yuxiu paused for two seconds. Since she had been watching Xu Minghui for so long, she knew Xu Minghui had quite a few siblings. Rumor had it that Xu Minghui had a brilliant sister who got into Hua University.

Could it be the girl standing here? She looked petite and gentle. Was she really the formidable sister of Xu Minghui? Didn’t seem like it.

Seeing the shared surname, Jiang Yuxiu’s discomfort vanished immediately.

"Of course, they’re my siblings." Xu Minghui sighed. "What brings you to the university? I thought you’d rest at home today?"

Concerned for his siblings, Xu Minghui unconsciously overlooked Jiang Yuxiu.

"Minglei wanted to see it. Being bored at home, we decided to take a walk." Xu Mumu smiled and let go of Xu Minghui’s hand. Okay, now that it’s all explained, no acting required.

Oh, she had mentally prepared a lot of lines, and only managed to use two. Such a pity. Her brother gave her no opportunity to play it out, otherwise she could have snagged a small award.

"Are you heading back now?" Xu Minghui raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah, we’re headed to the supply shop to buy things. Will you be home at noon?" Xu Minglei nodded, excited at the thought of delicious canned fruit, feeling indifferent toward seeing his brother. His brother’s no match for the allure of canned fruit.

If his brother didn’t come home for lunch, he might even get an extra piece of canned fruit, right?

"No, I’ve got to rehearse soon, busy day. I’ll eat in the cafeteria, tell granny not to wait for me." Xu Minghui shook his head, knowing lunch would be just the two elders with Xu Mingfeng, now also joined by his siblings.

"Great, it’s better you don’t come home. My sister and I plan to buy some treats." Xu Minglei said, quite pleased and feeling a tad smug.

"What delicious things are you planning to buy?" Xu Minghui raised an eyebrow. After starting university, he took on some part-time jobs, earning a little hard cash which didn’t compare to his previous earnings in the transport team. With limited money, he often couldn’t treat himself to wanted items.

"Minglei wants canned fruit. I’ll buy more and keep some for you to eat when you come back tonight." Xu Mumu replied with a smile.

"Alright, save me some." Xu Minghui nodded, glancing at his brother’s disappointed expression, slightly amused by his immaturity.

"No problem. By the way, what were you doing? Coming back from outside?" Xu Mumu inquired curiously.

"Went to borrow some better equipment, couldn’t get any." Xu Minghui felt a bit disheartened. The school’s equipment wasn’t great. Usable, but too basic, so they tried to borrow some but failed.

"What equipment are you trying to borrow?" Xu Mumu asked, despite knowing she likely couldn’t help with any contacts.

"Just some sound equipment and instruments. Sis, do you know anyone here?" Xu Minghui perked up with some hope, as his sister always had her ways, thinking she might have a solution.
