A Child Turned Into A Soldier-Chapter 40: Show Time
Chapter 40: Show Time
I spent the entire day in my room reading over the files until the sun came down. I looked over at my alarm to see it was 8 PM and decided to just go to bed. My body did not feel better throughout the entire day, so I was hoping that tomorrow morning would be better.
I set my alarm to go off at 4:30 AM and then got into my bed. I was still extremely frustrated at myself and those files didn't help one bit. I knew I should have just read the ones from the great war like I planned on, but I thought having files on VIA missions would have helped me out better for my task at hand.
'Whatever it's over now, just take things slow and adept to the situation. Simply get better while you're at the academy and use it to the best of your ability.'
Simple reminders to yourself always helped me out, it kept me on track when I started to lose myself.
I closed my eyes and immediately fell asleep.
...
"BEEEP "BEEEP "BEEEEP"
I woke up to the sound of my alarm then turned that shit off, I wasted no time and quickly went to go take a shower. I felt that my body was doing much better, I also didn't feel tired at all so I knew I was back to normal.
After finishing my quick shower, I put on my usual attire and headed off to my instructor's office.
I didn't bring any of my belongings as he stated that he had everything, so all I had were the clothes and shoes on my body. I tried not to think about what this whole process would be like because it would only worsen my anxiety.
Truthfully I knew I was scared; fear was something I didn't appreciate as it lowered my ability to perform and caused me to overthink.
Doubt however was something that I liked, it meant that there was always something to improve on. I didn't like being confident, confidence breeds comfort which I believe impacts my combat ability negatively.
I reached my instructor's office and went inside to see him sitting there with his eyes closed. 𝑓𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝑚
I noticed that there was an expensive looking duffel bag on his table that had my actual name on it written in bold gold letters. The bag was a pure white and I could sense mana coming off of it which intrigued me.
I took a seat and started to admire the bag even more, I couldn't believe humans could make something like this.
"That bag your staring at is from the Fallen Empire, it'll have everything you need for the academy so please don't lose it when you're there. They also told us that you'll have to wear uniforms for not only when you're in school, but out of it as well so there will be a school uniform and a causal one. Start changing into the causal one as I give you a rundown on everything."
When I heard the bag was from the Fallen Empire I was a bit disappointed. I had a feeling that was the case, but simply moved on from it.
I grabbed the bag and noticed there wasn't any zipper nor and opening at all. I looked at my instructor confused hoping he knew how to open the thing. The bastard just looked at me and didn't open his mouth, so it looked like I had to figure it out.
I flipped the thing all around and couldn't find any type of opening. However, I noticed that its mana had started to connect to mine, so I fed some of my own mana and the bag had finally opened up.
I looked inside of it and was in total shock from what I saw. The bag wasn't all that big, yet the inside was massive. I saw books, clothes, shoes, and a gold plated wrist band that had weird symbols all over it.
I put my hand inside the bag and it felt like I was moving through water which freaked me out a little.
I noticed that the multiple pairs of clothing were separated, the formal clothing which I assumed was the school uniform was in a line and that was the case for the casual clothes as well. I counted a total of 9 pairs for each side which I felt was very generous of them.
I grabbed a causal pair out which had pants that were tan, a long sleeve shirt which was white, and a pair of tan shoes. After taking out the items, I stopped feeding the bag mana which caused it to close.
I then started to change as my instructor went through what would be happening today.
"In about twenty minutes we will be going over to a special room that has a teleportation array. This array will send your straight into the academy and then after that a professor will take the lead and show you around the school.
There will be exactly two hundred and fifty humans including you, that is the amount you have to watch over as well. I know this will be difficult, but just do your best as we will not blame you for other's mistakes. Also do not stick out, don't do anything that separates you from the crowd and make sure to not upset anyone from the Fallem Empire. If they disrespect you just take it, do not let emotions get in the way of your mission Azrail.
Take this time to improve yourself as well, take advantage of this opportunity since I don't think it will ever happen again. That is really all I have to say, now we simply wait until it's time to go."
I listened to every word my instructor said, but I did wish he had more information about what was going to happen though.
Teleporting into the academy had weirded me out, I wondered why we had to do such a thing so I asked hoping he would know.
"How come we have to teleport there? Is there really no transportation we have that could reach their land?"
"That is a good question and the answer to that is we don't even know where they are actually located. They just gave us a teleportation array stating that it would transport you kids right into the school. I know that sounds sketchy and it is, but we have no other choice. "
'Are you kidding me? Just how much trust do we have in this Empire? There has to be something happening behind the scenes that we do not know for us to trust them so much. Still though is that the same for the other major races? I wonder if they will also send their best children to this school.'
After finishing my thought, I sat back down on the couch as I had finished dressing myself. The clothes were loose at first, but after putting mana in them they changed to the perfect size.
These simple things truly showed how advanced this Empire was, yet it also showed just how dangerous of a place I was going to....
