A Dragon against the Whole World-Chapter 90: Survival Game
"Galos, you look more fierce than before."
The words of Elf Dragon Vera reached his ears.
Galos was left speechless.
The Elf Dragon was telling the truth; he did indeed look more and more like an Evil Dragon, which was not what Galos had intended.
Although he felt that his current appearance was cool and fierce, it was also a bit too ostentatious, not in line with his usual cautious nature.
Unfortunately.
Whether it was the dual bloodline of the leaders of the Five-Colored Dragon and Iron Dragon, or the characteristics he had evolved himself, all were intensely aggressive and invasive.
This was often characteristic of Evil Dragons.
For benevolent or neutral Dragon Race like the Metal Dragon and Gemstone Dragon, they had fewer sharp spines and did not have wings or tails that looked like weapons at first glance. Their overall style leaned towards ’mighty.’
"With my current appearance."
"If organizations on the side of justice or order discover my presence, they’d definitely want to hunt me down and exterminate me on the spot."
Galos shook his head, thinking.
Even though he still did not consider himself to be the Evil Dragon that people imagined, Galos was no longer troubled by it.
He figured it out.
Whether Evil Dragon or Good Dragon, or being perceived as another type of monster, it didn’t matter; the world ultimately spoke with fists and power.
As long as no one disturbed him or threatened his life, he deemed it not worth worrying about.
Conversely.
If Galos felt that his life was threatened in any way.
He would go to any lengths to eliminate that threat, otherwise he could not find peace.
"Why am I not a Mixed-blood Dragon?"
Samantha’s gaze fell on Galos, scanning his formidable and fierce spines, wings, and tail... filled with longing and envy.
In the eyes of a Red Dragon.
Being fierce was an absolute compliment.
According to Dragon Race aesthetics, whether or not the Metal Dragon found it appealing, the Five-Colored Dragon and other Evil Dragons undeniably saw Galos as having the ’ancient epitome of evil.’ Upon reaching maturity, once he emitted signals of wanting to mate, no female dragon would be able to resist his charm.
"Samantha, it seems that while I was away, you managed the territory quite well."
Galos’s tail gently slapped the ground, causing a few sparks to fly.
When he spiraled down to land, he noticed some changes in Needleleaf Valley.
Some defense structures were added to the perimeter, with deep ditches where lava flowed slowly, an Ironwood Pine defense line with metal spikes cemented in place, and sentinels patrolling the key points.
Samantha raised her chin slightly, letting out a pleased hum.
She snorted out two plumes of sulfurous smoke, saying, "Do you think I’m just a lazy bug who only sleeps? No, I’m now a diligent giant dragon just like you, and I’ve subdued two Demon Race clans of my own."
"The Fire Salamanders can spit lava, while those ditches were dug by the Giant Fire Ants."
She pointed with a claw towards the Alchemy Workshop.
"In alchemy, I’ve learned to create flame jewels, whose instant explosion power can blow a giant rhinoceros sky-high."
Glancing at Galos, Samantha added, "There’s not many flame jewels, and I’ve only collected limited materials, so you can’t waste them, for instance... by randomly throwing them at yourself."
As she spoke, a wary look appeared in her eyes, evidently guarding against Galos.
Clearly.
Samantha did not want Galos using her flame jewels to satisfy his predilections.
She had speculated that perhaps Galos became stronger by using such means, but now looking at him, Samantha rejected that idea; if strength could be achieved merely by various exercises or self-destructive behaviors, then the Dragon Race would already have dominated all realms and worlds.
She attributed Galos’s power to a positive mutation from the mixed bloodline, not accumulated training over time.
Galos was indifferent to this misunderstanding.
Flame jewels capable of blowing away a giant rhinoceros? He wasn’t interested, unless they could blow away a dragon.
Galos contemplated as he looked at Samantha.
"During these six years, has Needleleaf Valley encountered danger? Encountered powerful beast monsters, been discovered by the Wisdom Clan, or faced an adventurer’s raid?"
He asked.
If it wasn’t feeling threatened, with the Red Dragon’s lazy nature, how would it focus on territorial defense?
Sharp-minded Galos sensed something was amiss.
Elf Dragon Vera circled around Galos, stopping in front of him, with her chest puffed out proudly, "There was a group of large ogres expanding; Vera first discovered them while out playing."
It was Elf Dragon Vera who first found traces of the ogres.
After telling Samantha, she flew high up to scout and was shocked to find the Ogre Tribe expanding at an alarming rate. From high above, one could clearly see the ogres’ activity range growing almost daily.
"Ogres."
Galos was initially puzzled, but then asked with a turn of thought, "Is it the Bone-Chewing Clan?"
Before he slumbered, the Bone-Chewing Clan was acting strangely; all the ogres were gathering in their territory as if plotting something. Galos had intended to investigate, but the sudden onset of the Dragon Sleep changed his plans.
Now, hearing the Elf Dragon’s words, it wasn’t hard to connect the ogres to the Bone-Chewing Clan.
The Red Dragon nodded seriously.
"In just six years, this clan has expanded by at least threefold."
"Now, they’ve already occupied the eastern Thunder Horn Sheep Ranch, not far from Needleleaf Valley."
The ogres, notable for strength, physical prowess, and defense, moved slowly but still only required a three-day march to reach Needleleaf Valley from the east where they were entrenched.
Galos was silent for a few moments, then suddenly grinned, revealing his fangs.
"Interesting."
The Thunder Horned Sheep Group, Steel-Bristled Thorn Beast Group, armored giant rhinoceros group... these ferocious beasts and monster groups around Needleleaf Valley were considered by Galos to be part of his pasture, within his territorial range.
Not dragons, not giants, nor a formally organized army.
A group of ogres trying to seize his territory, did they really think he, Galos, was an easy-going Good Dragon?
Immediately, Galos felt the urge to fly over and kill all the ogres directly.
This Dragon Sleep had made Galos stronger and amplified the intense emotions from his Red Iron Dragon bloodline.
Hoo!
Taking a few deep breaths, Galos’s gaze gradually calmed, skillfully suppressing arrogance and agitation, and began to think more coolly and rationally.
"The Bone-Chewing Clan’s sudden savage expansion must rely on something."
"First, scout the specific situation and then make plans."
As the saying goes, know your enemy and yourself, and you will be undefeated in a hundred battles.
Galos refused to engage in battles without certainty.
He had grown and evolved over the six years, becoming much stronger than before, more confident in his survival, but that didn’t mean he could run wild in the wilderness; caution was still required, not to let the surge of power cloud his judgment. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
"Samantha, you’ve done well."
Galos nodded slightly to the Red Dragon, saying, "Continue to fortify Needleleaf Valley’s defenses and arm the clans with Alchemy Tools to guard against stealth attacks by the ogres."
"What about me, what about me?"
The Elf Dragon spun around excitedly, asking.
"Assist Samantha."
Galos grinned, saying, "Aren’t you fond of playing games? This game called war, called survival, will be a thousand times more thrilling and fun than playing with ants."
After learning what Samantha had mastered.
Galos spread his Dragon Wings, soared skyward, and quickly vanished into the night.
Relying solely on the Red Dragon’s account was not realistic or detailed; seeing and investigating with his own eyes was far more reliable—Galos always trusted himself the most.
But there was no rush.
Galos hunted in nearby pastures first, feeding quickly, filling out his form, and optimizing his state post-awakening to the peak, then soared toward the Bone-Chewing Clan territory in his memory.
