A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 108: I’d Like to See Who Dares to Move
Manager Lewis said, "Six years ago, Vivian Quincy came to our Nightfall Club, signed a ten-year indenture contract, took our money, and ran. I’ve brought my men here specifically to corner her. If Master Kaye wants to take her, he’ll have to pay what she owes."
Hearing the term "indenture contract," Vivian Quincy said furiously, "Wanda Quincy was the one who signed that! Go find her!"
"I don’t know any Wanda Quincy. The contract has your name on it in black and white. Men, take her away!" Manager Lewis roared. Several of his men immediately dragged Vivian Quincy into the car.
Hayden Kaye quickly stepped in front of Manager Lewis. "Leave her here. I’ll pay whatever she owes you."
"Are you sure, Master Kaye?" Manager Lewis asked with a smirk.
"Positive," Hayden Kaye replied.
"Well, we’ll have to go back and run the numbers to find out," said Manager Lewis.
But Manager Lewis refused to let her go. He’d spent years searching for Vivian Quincy, and now that he’d finally caught her, there was no way he would just let it slide.
Anyone who dared to leave Nightfall, even with someone powerful to back them, had to be dragged back and taught a harsh lesson to make an example of them.
"Mommy! Let her go!" Beanie yelled, rushing forward to pull open the car door.
Manager Lewis froze, staring at Vivian Quincy in the car in astonishment. ’Well now, this bitch not only ran off, but she even had a son!’
Infuriated, Manager Lewis kicked Beanie aside!
Vivian Quincy roared in fury, "You touch him again, I dare you!"
"Ooh, fiery, aren’t we? So what if I hit him? What are you going to do about it?" Manager Lewis was a thug through and through and paid her no mind. He shoved Beanie’s small frame, and the little boy fell to the ground with a THUD.
Vivian Quincy snapped.
’Her precious son! She couldn’t even bear to lay a finger on him herself. Who the hell did this man think he was, hitting him!’
Without a second thought, she swung her handbag and smashed it right into Manager Lewis’s forehead.
With a cry of pain, Manager Lewis stumbled back a few steps. A bright red, bloody scratch marked his forehead where the zipper of Vivian’s bag had hit him.
"Get her!" Manager Lewis said furiously.
Several men rushed toward Vivian Quincy.
Vivian Quincy cried, "Hayden Kaye, aren’t you supposed to be a good fighter? Get them!"
Hayden Kaye watched with a cold expression, not moving a muscle. "Do you only ever think of me when you’re in trouble?" he asked.
The girl stiffened.
Hayden Kaye turned to leave...
Manager Lewis, who had been worried Hayden Kaye might intervene, saw this and shot a look at the two thugs behind him. They lunged for Vivian Quincy, but before they could even touch her, Hayden Kaye moved! tribulations
His movements were swift and decisive as he intercepted both men.
Manager Lewis snapped, "Master Kaye, what’s the meaning of this?"
"I can pay the money she owes you, but you are not to touch her," Hayden Kaye said, shielding Vivian Quincy behind him.
Manager Lewis sneered. "Do you have any idea how much she owes us? What are you going to pay it with? Your life?"
"How much? Name your price," Hayden Kaye demanded.
Manager Lewis held up five fingers. "At least five million."
"Five million?" Hayden Kaye turned and gave Vivian Quincy a questioning look.
Vivian Quincy insisted, "I don’t owe you a single cent! Go find Wanda Quincy if you want your money."
"You see, Master Kaye? She refuses to admit it. That’s why I’m not letting her go today, even with you here." Manager Lewis’s tone was unyielding.
From their exchange, Hayden Kaye began to piece things together. He realized Wanda Quincy must be behind this scheme.
Hayden Kaye knew the kind of influence The Nightfall Club, the organization behind Manager Lewis, wielded in Crestfall. If he tried to take Vivian by force now, it would only lead to bigger trouble down the line.
「The Nightfall Club」
Manager Lewis, holding Vivian Quincy’s indenture contract, had an accountant calculate exactly how much she owed the club for the past six years.
The final tally came to 5.6 million, which they demanded Vivian pay on the spot.
Since she hadn’t signed the contract, Vivian Quincy naturally refused to pay.
Manager Lewis said, "Master Kaye, look at her. She still won’t admit it. You know the rules here. No money, no leaving."
Hayden Kaye said, "I’ll pay. But you have to guarantee you won’t harass her again after you get the money."
"Of course," Manager Lewis said. "We never bully anyone."
Vivian Quincy grabbed Hayden Kaye’s sleeve. "This is extortion! We should call the police."
"You dare call the police?" Manager Lewis instantly flew into a rage. SMASH! He grabbed a wine bottle from the table and broke it, aiming the jagged neck at Vivian Quincy.
Unfazed, Vivian Quincy lifted her chin. "What, are you going to kill me?" tribulations
Manager Lewis smirked. "Of course I won’t kill you. But I can certainly make you wish you were dead."
Fearing for Vivian Quincy’s safety, Hayden Kaye comforted her in a low voice, "Vivian, don’t be afraid. Let me handle this."
"I don’t owe them any money," Vivian Quincy said, feeling deeply wronged. ’Millions of dollars... Why should I be the one to pay it? I wasn’t the one who took it.’
"I know you don’t, but now isn’t the time to argue about that. Trust me, I’ll take care of it." Turning to Manager Lewis, Hayden said, "Five point six million. I can give it to you, but I want a written guarantee."
"Money first," Manager Lewis demanded.
Hayden Kaye took out his phone and checked his account balance. It was just enough. He transferred the money to Manager Lewis’s account. "There. Are we good?"
"The old debt is settled. Now, let’s calculate the rest," Manager Lewis said with a cunning, treacherous smile after receiving the money.
Both Hayden Kaye and Vivian Quincy were stunned. "What rest?" they asked in unison.
Manager Lewis explained, "She signed a ten-year indenture contract. You’ve only compensated me for six years. That leaves four. Her value is much higher now than it was back then. Let’s calculate it based on a top-tier hostess: one hundred thousand a night. That’s 3.65 million a year. For four years... you do the math."
At this, Vivian Quincy’s eyes went bloodshot with rage. "Don’t you dare push it!" she spat.
"Master Kaye, if you’re not going to pay, don’t even think about taking her." Manager Lewis paused, then added, "And you should know my methods, Master Kaye. When it comes to dealing with women, I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve."
Hayden Kaye’s face turned ashen. Gritting his teeth, he said, "I don’t have that much money on me right now."
"Then leave her here," Manager Lewis said flatly.
Hayden Kaye stood protectively in front of Vivian Quincy. "I’ll find a way to get the money, but you have to give me some time."
"Sorry." On his own turf, Manager Lewis wasn’t about to give face to anyone, especially not after Vivian Quincy had hit him. If Hayden Kaye had just paid up, Manager Lewis might have spared her worthless life for the money. But since he wasn’t willing, then...
The security guards of The Nightfall Club advanced on Vivian Quincy in unison.
Dozens of them!
Hayden Kaye said furiously, "Manager Lewis, don’t push your luck!"
"So what if I am? What are you going to do about it?" Manager Lewis was fearless; he wasn’t about to be intimidated by some young punk. "Get her!" he roared.
"I’d like to see who dares," a glacial voice cut through the standoff.
Just as the Nightfall security guards lunged to grab Vivian Quincy, a domineering man with an extraordinary presence strode in from the entrance. He wore a impeccably tailored black suit, his gaze was sharp and cold, and he moved with the gravity of someone who owned the room.
Upon recognizing Jasper Ford, the ferocious expression on Manager Lewis’s face vanished, replaced by a fawning smile as he scurried over. "Mr. Ford!"
Jasper Ford’s sharp gaze swept coldly over the scene, finally landing on Vivian Quincy. A distinct glint flickered in his eyes, but he said nothing about it, instead asking, "Where’s Beanie?"
"Who’s Beanie?" Manager Lewis asked, confused.
Beanie, who had been hiding behind Vivian Quincy, ran out and threw himself into Jasper Ford’s arms. He burst into tears, pointing at Manager Lewis. "Ford, he hit me!"
The moment he spoke, the entire club went dead silent.
A murderous aura!
An overwhelming, murderous aura!
It instantly consumed everyone, setting every nerve on edge.
