A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 110: Find Them According to This Fairy
Jasper Ford was driving incredibly fast, and the ride wasn’t smooth at all!
It was less like driving and more like street racing!
Vivian Quincy was a little scared. She clutched Beanie tightly in her arms and said, "President Ford, please slow down. You’ll scare Beanie."
The man’s hands on the steering wheel didn’t budge. He gave a disdainful snort. Although his aura remained icy, she could feel the car gradually slowing down.
Vivian Quincy breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but glance at Jasper Ford a few more times. Noticing he was heading toward the hospital, she asked, "Are you going to the hospital, President Ford?"
"Beanie fell earlier," the man replied calmly. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Beanie realized Jasper Ford was concerned about him and quickly said, "Ford, I’m fine. I’m not hurt."
"You look hurt to me," Jasper Ford replied coldly, then parked the car, engaged the handbrake, and led the two of them out.
He had them both—the adult and the child—admitted for a check-up without giving them a chance to object. After a long examination revealed nothing was wrong, Jasper Ford’s expression softened ever so slightly, but he still looked terrifying.
He told Beanie to get in the car first.
Vivian Quincy sensed something was wrong. She reached for the car door, but Jasper Ford grabbed her wrist.
Vivian Quincy’s head shot up as if she’d been electrocuted. She was afraid. "President Ford."
"What else are you hiding from me?" Jasper Ford demanded harshly.
Vivian Quincy shook her head vigorously. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing."
"Then what about Beanie Quincy?" He narrowed his eyes dangerously.
Vivian Quincy bit her lip, remaining silent. She lowered her pale face, avoiding Jasper Ford’s gaze.
Jasper Ford didn’t press the issue further and drove to the company.
Just as they entered the company lobby, Wanda Quincy rushed over. "Jasper," she said, her face etched with worry, "I heard you had an urgent matter and left the office. Where did you go?"
As she spoke, Wanda Quincy gave Vivian Quincy a long, hard look, a sense of unease creeping into her heart.
Jasper Ford stopped in his tracks and asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
Wanda Quincy’s face stiffened. "I came specifically to apologize to Vivian Quincy," she said, sounding wronged. Turning to Vivian, she continued, "I’m sorry. My mother was a bit impulsive last night. I’m apologizing to you on her behalf."
After her seemingly sincere apology, she continued, "Quincy, you’re not going to refuse to forgive me, are you? Or are you planning to take this out on Jasper?"
"I’m not as vicious as you," Vivian Quincy replied coldly. "If you were truly sincere, you’d start by clearing up what happened six years ago."
"Six years ago? I don’t know what you’re talking about." Wanda Quincy’s expression froze. Realizing what Vivian was about to say, she suddenly panicked.
Vivian Quincy snorted coldly. "Keep pretending."
"Vivian Quincy." Sensing what she was about to say and terrified Jasper would hear, Wanda gritted her teeth and—SLAP!—slapped herself across the face.
Everyone in the lobby was stunned by Wanda’s action, and all eyes turned to her in confusion.
Wanda Quincy said, "I’m sorry, it’s all my fault. Are you willing to forgive me now?"
"Hah." Vivian Quincy scoffed, then took Beanie by the hand and walked away.
After they were a safe distance away, Wanda Quincy breathed a sigh of relief. ’Thank goodness Vivian kept her mouth shut about what happened six years ago. Otherwise, I’d have no idea how to explain it to Jasper.’
"Jasper, I’ve already apologized to Vivian Quincy. Can you forgive me now?" Wanda Quincy asked Jasper pitifully, her soft voice trembling on the verge of tears. Her eyes glistened, making her look utterly heartbroken.
The onlookers couldn’t help but raise their eyebrows and stare. ’This Vivian Quincy is really something,’ they thought. ’Just a lowly assistant, yet she managed to make the future president’s wife slap herself in public.’
Everyone was waiting for Jasper Ford’s response. If he was no longer angry, it meant he had forgiven Wanda Quincy. In that case, the reception staff would have to be more respectful to her in the future. But if he didn’t forgive Wanda, then they’d have to steer clear of Vivian Quincy from now on.
Because Vivian Quincy might very well kick Wanda Quincy to the curb and take her place!
If she played her cards right, she might even replace Wanda and become the president’s wife herself!
Radiating a frosty aura, Jasper Ford paid no mind to the tearful Wanda Quincy. He gave her a single, indifferent glance and uttered, his words like shards of ice, "I don’t have time for you."
He turned and walked away.
Wanda Quincy stood frozen in place, her eyes wide with disbelief as she watched Jasper Ford walk away. The hand at her side slowly balled into a tight fist, and her lips turned a shade of purple...
’Vivian Quincy, you bitch! What the hell did you do to Jasper? Why is he acting this way with you?!’
She was going mad with jealousy, her features twisting with hatred. Yet she had to suppress it... Forcing a strained smile onto her face, she left under the watchful eyes of everyone present.
Word of the incident spread quickly throughout the entire company.
Vivian Quincy got right back to work. She attended a meeting with Jasper Ford that lasted until evening. As she left the conference room and headed for the secretarial department, she accidentally bumped into a woman in high heels. "Sorry," she said.
Kimberly Shaw raised a slender, arched eyebrow. Brushing a lock of beautiful hair from her forehead with delicate fingers, she chuckled. "You must be Vivian Quincy?"
Vivian Quincy was taken aback and looked up in confusion. "And you are?"
"Kimberly Shaw. The heiress of Zenith Group." Kimberly Shaw sized Vivian up, a bright smile playing on her lips. "You’re quite pretty. Much better than that vixen Wanda Quincy. Keep up the good work."
"Huh?" Vivian Quincy found her very strange and asked in a low voice, "Do we know each other?"
Kimberly Shaw reached out and lightly tapped Vivian Quincy’s work badge. "Handle Wanda Quincy well," she said. "If she dares to give you trouble, come find me. I guarantee she won’t know what hit her."
Vivian Quincy was still completely bewildered. She didn’t know much about the prominent families of Crestfall, but she had heard of Zenith Group. They were in the jewelry business, so she couldn’t see how they would be connected to Wanda Quincy’s company...
From a distance, Summer Jacobs, who had just been transferred back, overheard Kimberly Shaw. "Miss Shaw," she chimed in, "Wanda Quincy is President Ford’s fiancée. You’ll have to ask for his approval if you plan on doing anything to her."
Kimberly Shaw’s eyebrow shot up. "Caden Chandler, when did your company start hiring such trash? Fire her."
Caden Chandler, having been called out, hurried over. "Miss Shaw, she’s just a secretary. Please don’t stoop to her level."
"So what if she’s a secretary? I’m rich and powerful, so I can pick a fight with her if I want to. What’s wrong with that? Are you going to fire her or not?" Kimberly Shaw saw nothing wrong with arguing with Summer Jacobs. She pointed at her imperiously. "I can’t stand the sight of her. Just give me a yes or no. Are you firing her?"
Caden Chandler: "No."
"Hmph. Fine, don’t fire her. Only your company would hire such an ugly hag," Kimberly Shaw huffed petulantly.
Caden Chandler sensed the tense atmosphere. Wiping cold sweat from his forehead, he said in a low voice, "Miss Shaw, it’s still business hours, and these are all employees of Imperium Group. I’d appreciate it if you could be a little more polite."
"Polite? Fine, I’ll stop talking. But she’s ugly and loves to make trouble, so what’s wrong with me pointing it out? When did the standards at Imperium Group get so low? Can’t you just hire people who look like me? Seriously, looking at her makes me lose my appetite." Kimberly Shaw was completely oblivious to how vicious her insults were, but they made Summer Jacobs’s face twist with rage.
Finally, Kimberly Shaw turned back to Vivian Quincy with a smile. "Work hard for my Jasper. I’ll be sure to reward you properly when I have time."
