A Heaven-sent Sweet Child Falls Asking for Hugs-Chapter 12: This Woman Is a Gift for You
Jasper Ford was exceptionally handsome. His chiseled profile, flawless features, and eyes as deep and captivating as a starry sea—every part of him radiated an irresistible charm.
’This man was the total package!’
But...
When the man’s long, slender fingers brushed against Vivian Quincy’s cheek, she froze completely, her body too stiff to move. Then, his restless hand traveled down her snow-white, delicate neck...
Vivian Quincy’s breath hitched, and her face flushed in panic. "Please, show some self-respect!"
Jasper Ford chuckled, a corner of his mouth lifting in a disdainful smirk. ’This woman, feigning innocence... Just moments ago, she was being all lovey-dovey with her boyfriend in the restaurant, and now she’s throwing herself at me. And she has the nerve to lecture me on self-respect!’
’She was truly the filthiest woman he had ever met!’
The mockery in Jasper Ford’s eyes was devoid of any warmth. As if the game was over and he’d lost interest, he let her go. "Tonight at six, you’ll accompany me to a banquet."
DING. The elevator arrived at the 77th floor. The doors slid open, and the cold, arrogant man walked out without a single glance back at her.
Vivian Quincy’s mind was reeling with questions. She chased after him. "I don’t even know you! Why should I go to a banquet with you?"
"Because I’m your boss," his voice was domineering, leaving no room for refusal.
Utter shock was written all over Vivian Quincy’s small, palm-sized face. ’So, this is Wanda Quincy’s fiancé?’
’Oh my god!’ 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
’So, she was just assaulted by Wanda Quincy’s fiancé?’
’What is going on?!’
Vivian Quincy stood there, stunned, taking several seconds to process what had just happened. For a moment, it felt like ten thousand alpacas were stampeding through her mind. While she had crashed their engagement party, she hadn’t fundamentally done anything to offend Jasper Ford. Why did it feel like he knew who she was and despised her?
Vivian Quincy shook her head. ’It must be my imagination.’ She had no interest in stealing other women’s men, especially not a man who belonged to Wanda Quincy!
Blushing, she rushed back into the elevator. Vivian Quincy was distracted for the rest of the day. She finally made it to the end of her shift and was about to leave the company to meet Beanie as planned when Caden Chandler stopped her.
"Miss Quincy, the President is already waiting for you. Please gather your things and come with me." Caden Chandler wore a warm smile.
Vivian Quincy’s lovely, willow-like brows arched slightly. She refused decisively, "I’m not going."
"As an employee of Imperium Group, Miss Quincy has no grounds to refuse. Besides..." ’This is the woman who assaulted our president. He’s only asking her to attend a banquet, which is already quite merciful. Any other woman would have been dead a hundred times over by now!’
"Besides what?" Vivian Quincy pressed, confused.
Caden Chandler just smiled, standing ramrod straight as he gestured for Vivian Quincy to follow.
Sitting in the Bentley, Vivian Quincy was surprised by how spacious it was. The interior was equipped with top-of-the-line features. The man seated beside her was as noble as a king. He hadn’t said a single word since she got in the car, and the oppressive atmosphere was making her a little scared.
They entered a boutique in the mall where the manager was already waiting outside. Seeing the high-and-mighty man striding over, the manager’s face lit up. "President, the gown is ready."
"Change into it," Jasper Ford commanded coldly.
A flash of discernible embarrassment crossed Vivian Quincy’s pale face. Biting her lip, she took the gown into the fitting room. The dress was very revealing. It was a strapless design that left her shoulders completely bare. The bodice was made of a sheer mesh material, so transparent that even the birthmark on her chest was clearly visible. It was ugly, and wearing the dress was almost like wearing nothing at all!
Vivian Quincy’s face flushed. She had never seen a dress like this before...
"Are you done yet?" The man’s impatient voice came from outside the fitting room.
Vivian Quincy glanced nervously in the mirror, hastily dabbing a thick layer of foundation from her touch-up kit onto the birthmark. "It’s too revealing, I want to change... Ah! What are you doing in here?!"
Horrified, she watched as Jasper Ford pushed the door open and entered. Vivian Quincy’s face went white with fear as she frantically covered her chest and stumbled back a few steps.
The man said nothing. With a deft move of his strong, powerful arm, he locked the fitting room door from the inside.
Vivian Quincy was stunned by Jasper Ford’s action, her eyes widening in disbelief. As he walked straight toward her, she instinctively clutched the dress tighter.
Suddenly, the man seized her hands and pinned them against the wall!
Vivian Quincy was so scared she wanted to scream, but a deep, magnetic voice sounded from above her. "Don’t scream."
The sound died in her throat. Her clear, bright eyes fluttered, filled with terror.
Jasper Ford looked down into her pitiful eyes, his own gaze inscrutable. His fair, slender fingers provocatively reached for the mesh fabric of the dress.
The light was dim. Vivian Quincy’s face instantly flushed crimson. Just as she was about to curse him for being a pervert, the man abruptly pulled his hand back. He released her, his cool eyes devoid of any warmth. "Wait here."
He walked out, and a moment later, a salesclerk brought in a proper gown.
It took a long time for Vivian Quincy to compose herself, her cheeks still bright red. When she came out of the fitting room, Jasper Ford didn’t even look at her. Caden Chandler, however, couldn’t stop his eyes from darting toward her. ’Strange, very strange!’ He was dying to know what had just happened in that fitting room, but he was too embarrassed to ask!
By the time Vivian Quincy had changed and had her hair styled, it was past eight o’clock, and the banquet was just getting started.
As the center of attention, Jasper Ford’s appearance immediately drew many eyes. People came up one after another to greet him, but he merely gave each a brief nod, as aloof as a king. He didn’t stop until he was in front of a handsome man in a deep blue suit.
Simon Sutton teased him curiously, "President Ford, you certainly kept me waiting. I was starting to think I’d have white hair by the time you finally graced my party."
"A gift for you," Jasper Ford said, his voice frosty.
Only then did Simon Sutton notice the girl standing beside Jasper Ford—a very innocent-looking girl! He frowned slightly and pointed at Vivian Quincy. "Her?"
Vivian Quincy froze, looking up in disbelief, only to hear Jasper Ford’s ruthless reply: "Yes."
In an instant, a chill shot through Vivian Quincy’s entire body. She thought she must have misheard him!
Simon Sutton also thought Jasper Ford was joking. He gave him a wicked smile. "Don’t kid around. Look, you’re scaring the poor girl. Why would I ever take one of your women?"
"I brought her specifically for you. You’re welcome," Jasper Ford replied without hesitation.
Simon Sutton’s smile froze on his face, his mind filled with questions. He couldn’t help but look at Vivian Quincy. There was nothing wrong with her looks; she was very innocent, the type all men liked. Her figure was probably fantastic, too. At a glance, she could be considered quite a catch. But Simon Sutton still felt something was off about Jasper Ford today. After all, he had never gifted him a woman before!
Simon Sutton grew suspicious. "What do you want?"
Jasper Ford said, "The development rights for the Southbend District. In return, she’s yours."
In a business partnership, the party asking for a favor usually prepares a gift. And Vivian Quincy was the gift Jasper Ford had prepared!
