Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Vivian Quincy, What Do You Really Want?

Vivian Quincy turned down the gift Hayden Kaye had prepared just for her. She went to the supermarket and bought some presents herself instead. Just as she was getting ready to pick up Beanie and head home, her supervisor called, telling her to come back for overtime.

"Aren’t we already off the clock?" Vivian asked, surprised.

"This is a company order," her supervisor said. "Where are you? I’ll give you twenty minutes. Get back here, now."

"But..."

’Even if I have to work overtime, I need to pick up Beanie first,’ Vivian thought. But her supervisor gave her no chance to speak, hanging up before sending three consecutive texts urging her to hurry back to the company.

With no other choice, Vivian could only let Beanie be put out for one more day. She hailed a cab and rushed back to the company that night.

The vast warehouse was completely empty. Vivian placed the gift box on a table, confused. ’Strange, where is everyone?’

Hearing footsteps behind her, Vivian assumed her supervisor had arrived. She spun around, but the color drained from her gorgeous face when she saw who it was. She took an instinctive step back as if she’d seen a ghost. "President Ford... what are you doing here?"

Vivian glanced frantically behind Jasper Ford. The door was closed, the security cameras were off, and none of the machines were running—it didn’t look like anyone was working overtime. A terrible feeling began to creep over her.

"Where did you get this?" The man’s deep voice broke the silence.

Vivian glanced at the gift box he was casually holding. "That’s mine."

"I asked you, where did you get it?" The man was clearly unhappy with her answer. A layer of ice that could freeze a person solid crept into the depths of his dark eyes, and a cold, murderous aura instantly filled the warehouse. He seized her jaw, his thin, cool lips spitting out a single word: "Speak."

"Ow..." Vivian cried out in pain, feeling as if her jaw was about to be crushed. ’Is this man insane?’ He starts bullying her the moment he arrives. She was here to work, not to get beaten up. With tears welling in her eyes, she said, "I bought it myself. Is there a problem with that?"

"Hah," the man scoffed, his voice a paradox of charm and menace. "Vivian Quincy, what is it you truly want?"

"I don’t know what you mean." Vivian thought he was being absurd, but her instincts screamed that Jasper Ford was dangerous. She tried to keep her voice low, to sound calm, but for some reason, Jasper suddenly erupted in fury. His eyes blazed with a raging fire!

Suddenly, Vivian was shoved against the wall. She cried out in alarm, but her parted lips were swiftly covered by a large hand...

Vivian’s eyes flew open in disbelief, her mind going completely blank. She tried to struggle, but the man caught her slender wrist in his grip.

"President Ford, what are you doing?!" Vivian shrieked in terror.

The man stared at her coldly. "What do you think?"

His words left Vivian completely bewildered. How was she supposed to know why the President was suddenly so angry? She was just a low-level employee. Why was he humiliating her like this?

"I don’t know!" Vivian snapped.

Jasper Ford’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "I hear you have a boyfriend."

Vivian shot back defiantly, "That’s right, I do have a boyfriend! So please, President Ford, show some decency and keep your hands off another man’s girlfriend. This is really disgusting of you!"

Just as he thought.

A terrifying smile spread across Jasper Ford’s impossibly handsome face. He cupped Vivian’s cheeks, forcing her to look at him. "Break up with him."

"This is my personal life. It’s none of your business, President Ford," Vivian declared.

Jasper Ford’s eyes narrowed dangerously. "I don’t want to have to say it again."

Refusing to back down, Vivian retorted, "Same here. If there’s nothing else, President Ford, I’ll be leaving now."

"Vivian Quincy, you think you can just walk away?" Jasper Ford’s lips curved into a wicked, mesmerizingly dangerous smile. "If you insist on being with your little boyfriend, I don’t mind ruining you right in front of him. Let’s see if you still have the nerve to be with him then."

"Are you insane?" Vivian was terrified. She couldn’t believe Jasper Ford would say something so vile.

She thought he had to be joking, just trying to scare her. But what Jasper Ford did next made the color drain from her face.

He actually swept her into his arms and strode toward a nearby desk!

"President Ford, put me down!" Vivian struggled, but Jasper domineeringly slammed her down onto the desk. With his other hand, he grabbed her phone from the table and commanded, "Unlock it."

Vivian bit her lip, refusing. "What do you think you’re doing?"

Her defiance infuriated Jasper Ford, and what little patience he had was nearly gone. "Don’t make me get rough."

"You bastard! This is my phone! Why the hell should I unlock it just because you say so!" Vivian yelled.

Jasper Ford’s eyes narrowed dangerously. He was on the verge of exploding. Terrified, Vivian frantically grabbed her phone and unlocked it.

Jasper Ford said, "Open your contacts and call your boyfriend."

’He’s completely lost his mind,’ Vivian thought. First he bullies her, and now he wants her to call her so-called boyfriend? What was he planning?

Vivian didn’t move. Jasper Ford’s patience snapped. The aura around him turned chilling, and Vivian’s face paled in fear. She hastily explained, "I don’t have a boyfriend! I was lying!"

The man stared at her, silent. Vivian could only grit her teeth and scroll through her contacts. Her gaze froze on a contact labeled "My Baby." ’Call Beanie?’ she thought. ’He’s probably still awake. What if the call connects and Jasper Ford does something monstrous to me, and Beanie hears it...’

Just the thought sent a horrifying chill down her spine.

But other than Beanie, she had no idea who else she could possibly call.

Jasper Ford was too terrifying; Vivian couldn’t fathom what he was thinking. She was afraid of what he would do to her after she made the call... No matter who she called, the situation would leave her so mortified she would want to die.

She felt utterly aggrieved, but then she saw the phone was already dialing. A frantic glance at the screen showed the name: Hayden Kaye!

Jasper Ford had actually called Hayden Kaye! ’How could he!’

Vivian tried to snatch the phone back, but the man tossed it onto the desk. The call was on speakerphone, and it had already connected. Hayden Kaye’s anxious voice came through the speaker: "Vivian, where did you go? I’m outside your apartment. Come out."

"I—" MMMPH! A large hand clamped over Vivian’s mouth. She glared furiously into Jasper Ford’s sinister eyes.

But the man only smiled faintly. He brought his handsome face close to Vivian’s ear and whispered, "Cry out."

Vivian was confused.

Jasper Ford’s voice dropped to a low murmur. "You know what I mean."

Vivian’s face turned grim. She had never met such a despicable man. ’He must be some kind of pervert!’ she thought. Even if he despised her, he wouldn’t go so far as to do something this outrageous, would he?

For some reason, Vivian desperately wanted to smash something over Jasper Ford’s head, to knock some sense into the bastard and make him understand she wasn’t someone he could just push around. But...

Meeting the man’s frigid gaze, Vivian gritted her teeth. "I won’t!"
