A Husband For Killer Mom-Chapter 169 - 169 Ch. 169 Danger Lurks Around
169 Ch. 169 Danger Lurks Around
Bang ... Bang ... Bang ...
Anxia could hear several gunshots surrounding her―she could hear a body crashing to the ground. Strangely, her ear caught another ‘thump’ over and over again. 𝐟𝓇ℯ𝒆we𝒃𝘯𝒐νe𝑙.co𝚖
That gunshot should have been hitting her, and she fell to the ground. But why is she still conscious and hearing these gunshots and thumping voices?
Her eyelids fluttered, exposing her killer eyes―widened in disbelief at what she saw. The dozen people who had attacked her now lay lifelessly on the ground with bloody small holes in their heads. None survived, and Anxia was alone, standing in the middle of the corpse.
Anxia shifted her eyes to Xuemin, still holding a medium-sized gun with a platinum color and a black trigger. That man really was something―his deadly aim never missed his target.
“Why?” Why did Xuemin kill his comrade and let her live? f𝗿e𝙚𝘸e𝐛𝚗𝐨𝙫𝚎𝙡.c𝒐𝐦
“Because I don’t want to lose my friend again,” answered the man while putting his weapon back under his black coat.
Anxia was silent for a few seconds to digest the meaning of her former colleague’s answer. But she still couldn’t comprehend it. “I don’t understand.”
“I didn’t know that Master Yu caught Meng Meng,” added the man casually as if he didn’t kill his comrades with his own hand. “When I found out, I immediately came to Frankfurt, but it was too late. Meng Meng was not around, and I don’t know if she is still alive.”
.....
“Xuemin,”
“Qiao Qiao. I don’t know what made you so desperate to disappear and run away from Master Yu. But as I stalk you all day, I can see you’re happy with your new family. I was disappointed, but I also feel happy that you found your happiness.”
Anxia gripped her injured right hand, looking at her former comrades with different eyes. She no longer felt wary of nor resentful of him. On the contrary, she instead felt sorry but also grateful.
“Xuemin, Master Yu will kill you if he finds out you betrayed him.”
Xuemin gave a gentle smile, hearing Anxia’s voice that conveyed a worried tone. “I already considered myself dead when I decided to save Meng Meng. But I failed, and no one knew about my hidden agenda. So I stayed by his side, and this time… I’ll make sure I’m not too late to help you.”
“Thank you.”
Xuemin shook his head sadly. “Qiao Qiao. Master Yu will stop at nothing before getting to you and sending someone else to get you. One more thing… I learned some unknown party tried to get their hand on that chip.”
“…”
“The police will come here. You’d better get out of here.”
Anxia didn’t have time to react when Xuemin turned around and quickly disappeared as fast as she blinked. She walked to get out of this place while trying to reach for her phone with her left hand. She knew Richard must be looking for her and worried about her. She knew the man could track her through her phone, but she felt grateful that the man had not come to this place.
If Richard had come in time and seen her ambushed by a bunch of gangsters―Anxia couldn’t imagine how her husband would have reacted.
However, she couldn’t find her phone no matter how many times she fished out into every pocket of her pants and jacket.
Did she accidentally drop her phone on the street when she was chasing Xuemin? No wonder Richard didn’t show up because he wouldn’t be able to trace her if she separated from her phone.
Anxia was trying her hardest to keep herself awake. Her sight turned blurry, and she lost half of her consciousness due to losing so much blood. Even though she didn’t see herself through the mirror, Anxia was sure that her face was now deathly white and sweat was pouring down her face.
Clutching her injured hand, Anxia walked towards the exit. Everything she saw seemed to shake like the earth was experiencing an earthquake. Nonetheless, she persisted and kept walking, forcing her eyes to stay awake.
“ANXIA!”
Anxia raised her head, hearing her name in a loud voice. As soon as she saw the face of the owner of the person who had summoned her, her heart felt incredibly relieved, and she smiled faintly.
“Ri …chie …” She was overwhelmed by seeing her husband―her vision darkened, and all her muscles went limp at that moment.
When her body swayed forward, Richard arrived in front of her and hugged her tightly. Without waiting for the time or asking, Richard lifted his unconscious and ran towards the nearest hospital. He even took off his thick coat to cover Anxia’s bloody cloth so people wouldn’t look at them strangely.
Just as he arrived at the highway, a luxury car stopped right in front of him, and the car windows rolled down to reveal the car’s occupants.
“Richie, what’s wrong with Anxia?” Harmonie went down first and opened the door to let her brother in.
As soon as everyone got into the car, Raymond immediately drove the car to the hospital.
“Why haven’t you guys returned yet?”
“How can we go home leaving you guys?” argued Harmonie. “Good grief! What is this? Why is Anxia’s head bleeding like this?”
Hearing the word ‘Anxia’s head is bleeding,’ Michele―sitting in the front row passenger seat, immediately looked back to see Anxia’s condition.
Raymond’s brows furrowed in disapproval at hearing that his sister-in-law was more seriously injured than he thought. A pair of eyes looked at his twin brother through the car’s rearview mirror. The two seemed to communicate with each other through their eyes, and Raymond immediately understood that something dangerous was lurking in his sister-in-law.
“Are you sure you want to take her to the public hospital?” Raymond asked in a calm voice.
If in the past it was Raymond who panicked and couldn’t think straight, Richard would always replace him to think clearly and calm him down. And now, Raymond took over the situation and made a safer suggestion when Richard couldn’t think straight.
If enemies were stalking Anxia, ??it would be safer if they didn’t go to the public hospital.
“Sorry, I can’t think right now.”
Raymond nodded in understanding, and then he told Michelle to call Stanley and tell the older man what happened.
