A Husband For Killer Mom-Chapter 229 - Infiltrating Stanley’s House
229 Ch. 229 Infiltrating Stanley’s House
That night, Anxia gathered with Mei Yin and a group of others to carry out the mission from Loraine Shu. Today’s task was that they would infiltrate a museum in Austria and steal an old crown and replace it with a fake one.
During the trip to the museum, Anxia couldn’t stop thinking about how she could change professions so drastically like this. She was a trained assassin, then turned into a housewife. And now, she turned into a thief?
Hhhh... People say a person’s life would be more meaningful if it were filled with color. But Anxia’s life had too many colors to make it colorless.
And what she didn’t understand the most was why her mother wanted a crown filled with rare gems when she already had a great fortune.
Anxia could only surmise that her mother just wanted to test her infiltration skills after six years of not showing off her skills.
It’s just… when she realized where they were right now, Anxia could not move.
“Miss Anxia, ??let’s go,” whispered Mei Yin because she realized that Anxia didn’t move from her place as soon as she got off the big black car.
Instead of answering the girl’s question, Anxia attacked Mei Yin and cornered the girl until Mei Yin’s back hit the wall of a house. This unexpected act made the rest of the team point guns at her, thinking she was about to betray.
Even though there were dozens of firearms pointed at her head, Anxia was not afraid and still stared at Mei Yin with great anger.
.....
“I thought we were going to rob the museum!”
Mei Yin commented with a crooked smile and answered her casually. “Young lady, our master still doubts your loyalty, so he decided to test you. If you defect like this and our master hears it, even your own mother will not be willing to protect your child. Ugh…!”
Anxia pressed against the girl’s neck with her arm making it hard for Mei Yin to breathe, but she didn’t try to fight back. She had no doubt that Anxia would not kill her carelessly.
“The owner of this house won’t let us in easily.”
“That’s why I gave you paralytic medicine for your husband. Now your father-in-law is in London to check on your husband.”
Anxia bit her lip in frustration, realizing that Stanley Calvin and Meisya were no longer in this house. Who would have ever thought they would go to Delft and come to Stanley’s house to rob something? Could they want the man’s program?
Her mother had lied to her by saying she wanted to steal a crown in a museum when the real goal was something valuable that belonged to Stanley. It explained why they boarded a super silent, speedy plane.
Wait a minute... if their goal was to infiltrate Stanley’s house, that means... Mei Yin’s primary goal in immobilizing Richard was not for fear that the man would track Anxia down but to lure Stanley out of this house.
And why they needed Anxia because she understood this house’s intricacies and pitfalls of this house.
If Loraine Shu had not been her mother, Anxia would have beaten that cunning woman to death. Plus, who was the master who gave her mother orders? Anxia realized that her mother wasn’t the top leader in this group, and Anxia still hadn’t met that person.
Could it be that… their highest leader was someone who wanted to meet her so badly?
Anxia had no choice but pulled back her hand, smiling at how hard Mei Yin tried to bring back the oxygen she lost.
“Now, will you open the door for us and turn off the defense system?” said Mei Yin in a cheerful tone as if she wasn’t suffering, even though Anxia almost choked her to death.
“What makes you think I know how it works? Our arrival here was in vain.”
“Not in vain. Mrs. Shu knows that your husband has given you the security code. The guardian of this house will recognize your voice and identity.”
“And once this housing program finds out I’m here, Stanley will know.”
“At least he won’t be able to catch up here.”
Anxia clenched her fists, hearing Mei Yin’s comment. She wasn’t worried about Stanley coming here, and she wasn’t even afraid of facing the man’s wrath or the disappointment of her husband’s family towards her.
But… she doesn’t want to break the Calvin family’s trust in her. She didn’t want to make her father-in-law dislike her again.
There was so much at stake because she left her husband, but what was all this for?
Anxia thought her parents were in danger, so she agreed to follow Mei Yin to Etros. However… it turned out that her mother was one of the leaders of a mysterious group that had been watching her for years.
If she had known from the start that her mother was fine and her father’s condition was guaranteed under her mother’s care, Anxia would never have left her family in London.
“I refuse. It’s up to you to punish me or beat me up, but I will not set foot in a house with no occupants.” After saying that, Anxia walked back into the car and sat on the chair while closing her eyes as if she wanted to enjoy her sleep.
It was up to them if they dared to go inside without her if they weren’t afraid of death. Anxia knew best what kind of traps were ready to welcome intruders, so Stanley never worried that a thief would come to break into his house.
After all, she also knew they wouldn’t find anything in this house because Stanley had a secret place that none of them knew about it. Richard didn’t even know the location of this house, and Anxia was sure whatever they were looking for would be in the other place.
Thus, she did not want to enter in vain, knowing the risks she had to take, and chose to sit still.
As she expected, quite a few dared to enter, and screams could be heard from inside, indicating that they had set off a trap.
“Damn it. The alarm has sounded. We have to get out of here.”
Anxia snorted at that and didn’t turn around the people who got burned or scratched by the death trap Stanley set up.
Just as Anxia had expected, Stanley immediately knew that a group of intruders had entered his house as soon as his home defense system was activated.
It’s just that Anxia didn’t realize that across from Stanley’s house, there was a camera hidden in the street lighting, so no one knew that a camera was there.
And Stanley saw his daughter-in-law there with a group of intruders. He frowned and then glanced at his son, who was unconscious while his granddaughter slept after crying for hours beside her father.
Hhhh… As long as he could remember, since he met his granddaughter for the first time, Stanley had never seen the tears of that tiny child, so he couldn’t stop thinking why Anxia had the heart to leave her child crying like this.
