A Husband For Killer Mom-Chapter 237 - Elliot Is Good At Lying
237 Ch. 237 Elliot Is Good At Lying
“Grandma? She…” Elliot didn’t finish his sentence and looked at his mother with a wary gaze as if afraid that he might make a mistake.
“You are free to tell me anything.”
“You won’t be mad at me?”
“No, I won’t.”
“Then… will you still not be angry if I tell you that grandma isn’t one of my favorite people?”
Anxia blinked a few times, then pursed her lips to hold back her amused smile.
“Secret between us; my mother isn’t my favorite person either, so I don’t blame you.” Loraine Shu was one of her favorite people in the past, but not anymore.
Hearing his mother’s answer, Elliot sighed in relief as he wiped the imaginary sweat off his forehead. “Phew! Finally, someone agrees with me.” his cute remark made Anxia’s laughter break out.
“But, I still love her. After all, she was the one who told me about you when I first became able to speak.”
.....
Anxia affectionately stroked the top of her son’s head, and the two continued their conversation, making Zhou Yu Hue overhear everything they were saying.
No one knew or realized one of his fingers moved again, indicating that Zhou Yu Hue would wake up from his coma sooner or later.
Like Lori, Elliot was a loveable adorable child, but he inherited his father’s mischievous and overprotective attitude.
“Then I put the chewed-up gum on that bad guy’s chair. He became the laughingstock for whoever saw his pants. Hmph!! It’s his fault he insulted and belittled Aunt Jamie.”
“That’s my boy!” Anxia exclaimed proudly, making Elliot laugh happily.
On the other hand, Jamie met Mei Yin in secret, and the two communicated using hand language.
‘What? You want to help Anxia get out of here?’
‘I also want to make Anxia bring Elliot along. Do you have any ideas?’
Mei Yin scratched her head at the request of the mute woman. If Anxia wasn’t the daughter of Loraine Shu, her mistress, perhaps Mei Yin wouldn’t mind and immediately grant her wish. But the thing is… Anxia is not just anyone but the daughter of the second leader of this Di Sha group.
Once Loraine Shu finds out that Mei Yin helped Anxia escape and took her grandson away, Mei Yin might be unable to protect her neck.
‘Should we really do it? At least they are safe here.’
Jamie shook her head firmly against Mei Yin’s protests. ‘Sooner or later, Madam Shu will no longer care about her descendants and kill them once she gets the inheritance confirmation. We have to get them away from here before that happens.’
‘The inheritance was intended for Anxia’s eldest son. And her firstborn is Elliot, and Madam Shu couldn’t have killed Elliot until Elliot was sixteen.’
‘You know the situation has changed.’ Before Jamie could continue her sign language, someone admonished them.
“What are you doing here?”
“I want to spend time with my mother. Is that a problem?” Mei Yin came out, showing her cold face making the man who reprimanded her pale.
“My apology, miss. I didn’t know that the one hiding in this place was you. Please don’t mind me.” The man immediately walked away from them while Mei Yin squinted, watching the man’s body movements.
“Wait here.” That was what Mei Yin said to Jamie in a low voice, making Jamie shake her head in resignation.
In an instant, Mei Yin caught up with the man, grabbed him by the neck, and clutched his mouth before twisting his neck to kill him silently. Mei Yin pulled the body to a corner of the courtyard that was rarely visited by people and made sure to hide the body.
Since night had not yet come, Mei Yin could not take this corpse out and bury it. That’s why she decided to hide it first, and then she would sneak out to get rid of this corpse.
After that, she returned to Jamie, who was still waiting for her between the two warehouses, which were attached but left a small narrow gap. Because their bodies were skinny and slender, they could enter between the gaps and communicate there without inviting suspicion.
‘Mom, let’s see what the situation is like for now. If Anxia wants to leave with Elliot, I’ll help her, but we have to think of a good plan, and we need outsiders’ help if we want them to get out of this country safely. I promise I won’t let Elliot get hurt. For a while, can we just shut up and pretend we never planned this?’ Meng Ying heaved a relief and sighed to see her mother nod once. ‘We need to tell Elliot.’
‘Leave it to me.’
The two walked out and parted ways while acting casually not to invite curious glances from the employees who loyally followed Loraine Shu.
Jamie invited Elliot to talk at night when the boy visited Zhou Yu Hue according to his daily schedule.
Even though Elliot was still young and looked frail, he was brilliant, having mastered hand sign language to communicate with Jamie without waiting for the mute to write something.
‘Elliot, would you come with her if your mother asked you to leave?’
“…” Elliot didn’t answer right away when he got a question from his second favorite person. ‘Are you coming with us?’
Aunt Jamie shook her head and answered her reasoning that she had to look after and care for the unconscious older man.
‘Then I don’t want to go. Who will protect you if grandma punishes you? She will beat you once she realizes that I have gone.’
Jamie’s eyes filled with tears realizing how big a heart this little boy had. She heard that Elliot had a twin sister and couldn’t help but wonder if Elliot’s twin sister had the same affectionate nature as the boy.
‘I’ll be fine. So…’ Jamie took a deep breath before continuing her hand movements. ‘Go with your mother when your mother asks you to go out.’
“...” Elliot paused, then glanced at his grandfather and back at Jamie one after another. “No, I don’t want!” roared Elliot, stomping his feet, shocking the older woman. “I won’t listen to you right now!”
After saying that, Elliot returned to his room accompanied by Nanny, his caretaker.
“Young master, did something happen inside?”
“Aunt Jamie told me to go to bed early tonight.” he lied without batting an eye, as if Elliot had practiced lying a lot. “But I don’t want.”
“So, you won’t sleep early?”
Elliot halted his step with lowered eyes as if he was pondering over something. “Grandma will punish her if she finds out I haven’t slept yet.”
“She might do so.”
“I will sleep, then.”
Nanny nodded, satisfied hearing his answer, and they both walked back to the boy’s room. No one knew Elliot was better at lying than Lori—he was forced to lie to protect Jamie from his merciless grandmother. It had been his habit, and he was good at it.
