A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 241: KHAOS WAS LOSING HIS MIND
Chapter 241: KHAOS WAS LOSING HIS MIND
Once again, Zuri was in and out of consciousness, but this time there was no voices in her head, which was a really good feeling.
It has been a very long time for Zuri to feel this peacefulness. She really like it, she loved it, she indulged herself in this feeling.
Not only that, Xaden didn’t make any appearance, he also disappeared. She felt so good about it, she felt so light. This was something that she craved for so long. The peacefulness, the calmness that not even Khaos could provide for her.
It shut down all the voices in her head, including Khaos mindlink, which at this point she didn’t really care anymore.
Zuri wanted to cling to this peace and quiet. After a long time, she finally felt so happy. She knew it was the effect of the drug, but who cared about that? As long as she could feel this feeling, anything else didn’t matter.
Now she knew what Lyra felt about it, why she craved the drug so much to the point she would give up everything.
Zuri would do the same too.
Zuri would give up everything.
Zuri would even give up Khaos if she had to. freeweɓnovel.cøm
This was crazy, but what else she could do? And when Lorent came to her, she would demand the drugs once it wore off.
It was scary to know of how quick her addiction to the drugs. It almost felt like her body had been craving for this ’salvation’. She couldn’t let it go.
And Lorent would give it to her. At this point she wouldn’t be able to run away even when Lorent let her go, because he was the only person who could provide the drug for her and she wanted it so badly.
Zuri didn’t know how long they were in this journey. She had lost count of day. She had lost count of how many nights she screamed at Lorent to give her more drugs again and again.
She was very quick to become addictive to this type of peacefulness, to this type of quietness. Her mind was in peace. She was no longer heard the voices in her head, not even Khaos mindlink attempt could disrupt it. It shut her mind from all the interference.
It felt so good and she felt good about herself... she felt like herself.
All this time, she had been tortured inside her mind, but now she could be free and the taste of freedom had never been this sweet with a little bit of smoke.
Zuri didn’t even care where Lorent would take her, she would come with him willingly. Was it a week, a month, a year? Since the last time she saw Khaos?
Right now, Zuri found her happiness here, a different type of happiness, but it was happiness nonetheless and the Lycan felt like a distant memory,
On the other hand, Khaos was trying to look for her. It had been almost a month since he discovered that he followed Lorent’s decoy instead, which led him away from his mate.
He didn’t think straight at that time and it costed him greatly.
Lorent had sent his men as a decoy with Zuri’s scents and blood. Therefore, it created a distance between them.
However, when he was very close to her, he couldn’t mindlink her at all. He couldn’t feel her presence and this aggravated him even more.
Something must have happened to her, something crazy, and he couldn’t get rid of her image writhing in so much pain. This doesn’t feel right. Lorent must have done something to his mate, but he didn’t know what it was.
The situation was killing Khaos right now. The massive number of warriors who marched toward the Great Palace was only two months away to reach their destination, while Khaos was actually already in Celeste Kingdom, he was only a week away from the Great Palace.
"We need to get some rest, Khaos. The other warriors are very tired. We have not yet stopped since yesterday."
Aside from Caiden, there were four other warriors with them and they looked like they were going to die from following their alpha’s speed.
"You are going to kill them all."
Khaos glared at Caiden and this must be the first time for him to think the lycan was crazy. This must be the craziest state he had been since he took Zuri as his mate.
Khaos didn’t think logically. He was being reckless and impatient. The killing intent that exuded from him was a whole different matter entirely. It exhausted them all in a way they couldn’t explain. It almost felt like it was suffocating to even standing next to him.
"Should I make it quick? I don’t need burdens."
Caiden didn’t even know what to do. He was the one, who had to take the brunt of Khaos’s wrath. Khaos lost his mind.
If they took longer than this to find Zuri, Caiden was afraid Khaos would be more reckless than this.

"Why don’t you give me to Khaos?" Zuri asked in one of her lucid moments, when she was not under the influence of the drugs, but the effect of it was still very clear.
It shut down her hallucination and it stopped the voices in her head. She liked it this moment very much. She would say this was a ’golden moment’, where her mind was lucid enough to think of her situation and hold a conversation, but the effect of the drugs was still there to numb her mind from the voices in her head.
The crazy voices and the hallucination, which more often than not, manifested into Xaden or her mother or her father or those people that she had never met before.
It was so funny to think she imagined this strange people and they haunted her when they had never met before.
"Answer my question, Lorent. There is nothing to hide right now," Zuri prodded him again.
