Meanwhile, Lorent looked at the other person with disgust in his eyes. He was angry, but he tried to compose himself.

Right before them, the mysterious man in black cloak was sitting on the throne, this was the same person that Zuri saw when Elijah kidnapped her and performed the curses to her before Khaos killed him.

She knew it was the same person because this man was wearing the same cloak like before. His figure was the same, but she couldn’t pinpoint who he was because she couldn’t smell his scent.

That was why she was even more shocked when that man took off the cloak and revealed himself to Zuri and Lorent.

That man smiled at her as if they were a good friend, as if they were in good relationship and he was there to have a tea with her.

"You...?" Zuri said with bewilderment. "No way it’s you."

The man smiled politely. "Yes, it’s me," He said with with calmness in his voice and gentleness in his eyes.

Out of everyone else, Zuri didn’t think it would be him who was the mastermind behind it all. Never in million years, she would have guessed it.

However, if she thought about it carefully again, she would see how made sense everything was.

Khaos was so close to Zuri, he knew Lorent would take her to Great Palace.

Before he arrived, he had informed all the people in the Three Deadly Ways to put their guard up and to be ready for a battle, since he thought Lorent would not go down without a fight, he must have someone to support him as the backup.

However, he was a few hours away from the Great Palace. He couldn’t reach there in time because of that fucking decoy Lorent left him really messed up with the pursuit, because of that, it took Khaos two days to figure out that he was being tricked.

After he killed those decoys, Khaos needed to start from scratch and he had to go to the Great Palace without stopping.

He even left behind Caiden and the other five warriors who came with him because they couldn’t catch up with his pace.

"Long time no see sister. How are you?" The mysterious man in black cloak greeted Zuri with apologetic smile. "I am sorry that we have to meet this way. I am sorry to hide my identity all this time from you."

On the other hand, Zuri looked at him with confusion, as if she didn’t believe with her own eyes. As though, this was one of her hallucinations like usual.

"Declan?"

She didn’t know whether it was the drug that she used or what, because right now her head was spinning. She was seeing Declan.

Declan was her second brother, her quiet second older brother. He was born from the same mother like Rhett and Silas.

In the past, Declan didn’t really bother her. He didn’t bully Zuri like Silas, or stood up for her and taught her everything like Rhett did.

He was that ignorant brother who didn’t care much about her. Sometimes Zuri wondered if Declan even knew about her existence but now, Zuri got the answer.
