Chapter 247: KHAOS IS NEARBY

Lorent looked at Zuri. His jaw hardened.

"Sorry, I poisoned the drugs that I gave you, so if you don’t take the drugs within three hours, you are going to die and I am the only one who has the cure for it."

Lorent was not sorry for Zuri, but he pitied her and Zuri really wanted to kill this man. If she was going to go down, this man would go down with her too, she would make sure of it.

This time, Lorent shifted his attention toward Declan. "So, think about it carefully because I am not playing around here."

Declan’s face turned dark when he heard that. Three hours was not enough time to complete the beauty blood if he wanted to go ahead without heeding Lorent’s threat.

The last curse that they had to inflict on Zuri with only ten magic users would take more than three hours. Usually, it would take twenty people to put the curse on her.

But if what Lorent said was true, then Zuri would die before the completion and their effort would go down the drain.

Zuri was actually amused with how thing was going on right now, both of them look so funny in her eyes because they met a stalemate, where they tried to win the situation, they even schemed against each other, even though they were against Khaos.

And in the end, the only party that had no any benefit or any say in this situation was Zuri. Even though, she was the crucial point in this whole messed up thing.

It was so ridiculous to see how they were arguing about what they were going to do to her when they didn’t even care about her at all.

This was how her life would be even if Khaos was here to help her. She didn’t think she wanted to live this kind of life anymore.

Therefore, she watched everything unfolded. She stared at them and waited until they finally paid attention to her. Even so, she simply didn’t care.

"What is so funny?" Declan finally asked Zuri. He tilted his head to look at his little sister. "Why are you laughing?"

"I am not laughing because you two look funny. Actually, I am laughing because I am tired." Zuri didn’t even realize that she had been laughing all this time, until Declan pointed it out.

"You are always very interesting, Zuri. Even when you were a child, you are always very interesting. You have always been this smart little girl. It was a pity that Father couldn’t see your potential."

"Yeah, and you saw it." Sarcasm was very thick in her voice. "You saw my potential and you used it. I will rather to have you not see any of it. You know, I am not really thrilled to be used by you or any other people. It feels disgusting."

Declan nodded as if he understood what she was saying, even though Zuri was not sure he actually felt any sympathy towards her. She didn’t think this man was capable of feeling any sympathy.

"Did your mate know about your true color or you only use her for your own advantage?" Zuri asked when she saw the magic users came approaching them. They waited. They stopped walking right behind Declan.

Those magic users were waiting for an order from him.

Zuri wondered why Bryden betrayed Khaos like this. He should be his loyal beta, but actually he was also the one who betrayed him again and again. How could he do it for the second time? Zuri simply couldn’t understand that.

And now, Zuri realized Khaos was in the position where he couldn’t even trust his own men. She could understand how it felt because that was how her life until now.

It was so fucking difficult when you couldn’t trust anyone, which was what people around Khaos did at this moment.

Yet, they justified their action by saying they did this for Khaos. They did this for their vengeance. They did this to help him.

Bullshit.

"You don’t need to bring my mate inside this conversation." Declan was not happy with the change of topic and with that Zuri knew his mate didn’t know any of it.

That poor woman didn’t have any idea what kind of man she was with.

"Oh, if you don’t like to talk about your mate, why don’t we talk about your baby? Your mate just gave birth to your first born, right? Let’s talk about my nephew."

This time Declan didn’t say anything and he ordered the magic user to take Zuri away.

"You can’t take her away without her medicine." Declan stood right in front of Zuri, while the ten magic users moved toward him.

"Then give the fucking medicine to her." Declan narrowed his eyes. "If she is dead, we will not get anything. Khaos will definitely kill you. Do your job and stop whining."

"You need to send someone to retrieve my mate. Their entourage must be a few days away from here."

"No. You are wrong. Khaos is nearby."

The things that Declan said made Zuri snapped back to reality. Khaos was here. He knew where to find her.

However, would she want to go with him?

Zuri was trembling now. She didn’t want Khaos. She wanted her drugs.

And actually, what Declan said was right. Khaos was already in the Great Palace. He came alone, while Caidan and the other warriors were a few hours behind him, yet he knew this place like the back of his hand.

After all, this place was supposed to be his home. He had been here a few times.

It didn’t take long for Khaos to find Declan in the throne room, but by that time, Zuri and Lorent had been escorted to somewhere else.

On the other hand, when Khaos saw Declan was there, his expression didn’t change at all. Instead, he asked for Zuri.

"Where is she?" Khaos asked coldly.
