A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 278: I STILL WANT TO BE IN HER LIFE
Chapter 278: I STILL WANT TO BE IN HER LIFE
Giving up, Gayle stopped himself from persuading Khaos of leaving Zuri. He changed the topic. "What are you going to do with the coup, Khaos? You know that Rose, Eyren, Declan and Rhett had been planning to do something. You can’t just sit here and let everything out of control first before you will take some action."
Gayle used to work with Khaos and the Lycan always had a plan. That was why it felt so weird to know that Khaos didn’t have any detail of what they were going to do to respond the blatant coup.
They didn’t even talk about the power that Declan and Rhett had gathered or the fact that the king and queen from both kingdoms aided the cult.
It was only a year ago when they took down Dacre and got their hand on Wolfdale kingdom as well, but right now, both kingdoms were trying to fight Khaos and the latter didn’t even do anything about it.
"What are you going to do about it? Waiting for them to march here?"
Khaos finally spoke, he gave Gayle the most absurd order. "Leave. Take all the warriors with you and leave."
"Khaos. I don’t understand." Gayle frowned. "Is that supposed to be an order? What do you mean with leave? Do you have some kind of plan to counterattack them?"
"No. I only want you to leave with the rest of the warriors."
"Khaos, don’t tell me you are going to kill yourself?"
Khaos smirked when he heard that. "I am mortal," he reminded him about it. "Take all the warriors and leave the Great Palace."
"What do you mean with that?" Gayle’s mind tried to comprehend what Khaos actually wanted to say. He didn’t expect this man would give this order. "Will you be fine to lose all of your people’s loyalty?"
"Yes."
On the ground, they could see Shadow’s head was being taken away, so they could burry what remain of the poor wolf. Its head had turned very red, the color that Zuri currently like the most.
"You cannot do that, Khaos. You can’t ruin everything that we have been working for only for her. Think twice. She is not Zuri. This is the proof." Gayle pointed his finger at the bloody ground, the spot where they found Shadow. "This is the hardest proof that you couldn’t deny."
Khaos Look at the spot grimly. He knew that it was not Zuri, he could feel it. It was not her.
The way she touched him and how cold her hands were, but she still had the same scent. Whatever happened to Zuri during the completion of the Beauty Blood, it left her dormant within herself, and the woman he was with right now was nothing but the manifestation of the dark curses, which had been inflicted on her for years.
After all, there was no way those dark curses would leave Zuri without any permanent damage.
He knew that, but that woman still had her eyes, her scent, she was still her, but it was the worse version of her, where the devil inside of her took over.
"Khaos, please think twice about this."
"This will be my last order for you, Gayle." Khaos looked very calm. "Leave and bring all the warriors with you. Get away from the Three Deadly Ways and I mean it. This will be my last order to you. So, I hope you will honor this."
"I..." Gayle was speechless, he felt the words left his mind. "Are you treating me as your enemy now?" Gayle shook his head. "What are you going to do if we left?"
"If you really put your loyalty to me, you will leave and never show your face again, because the second time we meet, I will not hesitate to kill you."
"What the fuck, Khaos?! What do you even mean with that?!"
Gayle knew how powerful Khaos could be with his new power, but it didn’t mean he would survive fighting this war alone, would he? He was mortal... no one could kill him, right?
"You are a mortal, Khaos and Zuri is not. What are you going to do about that?"
He chose her now by giving up everything, but their time was not forever. With how Zuri’s condition right now, she might not make it for long and then what Khaos would do after that?
"Leave."
That was all Khaos said before he disappeared right before Gayle’s eyes. The gamma didn’t know where the lycan had gone to.
"Fuck, Khaos!"
Khaos actually went to find Dezgar. He needed to meet him, since there was something important.
"You startled me, Khaos!" Dezgar jumped on his feet when he turned around and found Khaos was standing behind him.
"I wanted to discuss something with you."
Khaos shifted his attention to the woman on the bed, Zuri was sleeping and this room filled with the smell of drug, while Dezgar looked like he was fighting back his sanity. The drug would affect him if he stayed for long.
"This is related to her and I want you to listen to me carefully."
"What is it?" Dezgar was a little bit taken of back because suddenly Khaos was very serious and anything related to Zuri would put Dezgar on high alert.
Especially when his voice and his expression were very serious and even his red eyes held no kindness at all.
"I want you to do what you should have done before."
"What do you mean with that?"
"This is what Zuri wanted." Khaos’s gaze softened when Zuri stretched out a bit in her sleep.
On the other hand, it took a while for Dezgar to understand what Khaos meant, but after a while he looked shocked.
"Are you sure you are going to go through that after everything?" Dezgar frowned. "You choose to do that to solve this? You can’t be serious..."
"Yes," Khaos answered without hesitation. "After everything and I still want to be in her life."
