A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 280: HE IS COMING BACK
Chapter 280: HE IS COMING BACK
Some of the warriors were from Wolfdale Kingdom. "Probably you can arrange their return to their respective Kingdom after this."
Caiden was frowning with the way Gayle was speaking. "What is it? Why I feel like you are going somewhere? Why you are not the one, who arranged that? You were the one, who brought them here after all."
"Yes, I think I am going somewhere. I will not stay here."
"You will not stay? So, where are you going?"
"I will go back to the Great Palace."
Caiden’s brows shot up. "You will go back?" he was in disbelief. He grabbed Gayle’s shoulder and looked at him in the eyes. Right now, they were surrounded by so many warriors as they welcome them to this pack.
With how crowded their surroundings, Caidan then took Gayle to quieter spot, so they could talk and have some privacy.
"What do you mean with that?" Caiden didn’t want to fight Khaos, but it didn’t mean he would support his enemies too. They clearly had betrayed Khaos and right now, Khaos didn’t even think about their life long plan at all.
Everything was ruined.
"I know it must be hard for you to understand this, or probably you may understand me."
Caidan didn’t say anything and wait for Gayle to elaborate what he meant with what he said.
"I promised my loyalty to Khaos and I am going to keep it."
"Are you crazy?!"
Gayle smirked. He he looked like he was going to laugh. "You know, that kind of sentence is quite popular recently. So, many people call each other crazy. Probably we need to be crazy in this time of era. And yes, maybe I am crazy to think that I will put my loyalty first."
Caiden clenched his jaw. He narrowed his eyes, feeling bittered. "Do you think I am not loyal to Khaos?"
"I will never say that, I know you are loyal to him, but for me, I choose to stay by his side until the end." free𝑤ebnovel.com
And with that, the next day Gayle really left for the Great Palace. It was actually a pretty brutal journey for him to go through all the shadow and thick darkness, as he almost fell to the cliff a few times.
Only if he didn’t have a good memory and know this place so well, he might end up dead before he even showed his undying loyalty to Khaos.
And the moment he entered the palace, the first thing he saw was the lycan, who was standing in the front gates. It seemed he already knew about his arrival.
"What are you doing here?"
That was the first question that Khaos asked the moment he saw Gayled walked toward him.
The gamma raised both of his hands. He looked like he had gone through hell and back, since he had to go through a lot of hurdles when he had to find the Great Palace.
"I told you that I am going to kill you the moment I saw you."
"Oh please, I know you told me about that already but at the very least can you feed me first before you kill me? It took me almost a week, I was trapped inside that dark mist and I am so hungry, I finished my packed food yesterday. I don’t expect to spend days in that mist and I almost fainted because of how hungry I am right now. You can kill me after you fed me."
Gayle stared at Khaos, pleading. But, instead of taking pity of his condition, the lycan turned around and walked back into the the palace.
"Zuri cooked something," Khaos said with his back against Gayle.
"Really? she can cook." He jogged to follow Khaos. "I don’t know about that. Is that safe to be eaten? Is the food even edible to eat?"
They didn’t talk about their situation in detail, but there was this tacit understanding between them. C
Khaos knew that Gayle returned because he wanted to stay by his side until the end. And for Gayle, for Khaos to even offer Zuri’s ’scrumptious food’, it meant he already accepted him.
It had been more than a month since Gayle left with all of the warriors, but here he was, a month later, returned to the place where the war would start.
"Are you sure the meat is... a real meat?" Gayle didn’t have any plan to become a cannibal or something...
"I am still alive."
"You know that’s not even a comparison. You can’t be the indicator for it, since you are a mortal, so a stomach bug will not kill you." Gayle rolled his eyes when Khaos didn’t see him. "I am not even sure if you still could feel the pain."
Gayle followed Khaos into the palace and both of them went to the kitchen, where he found a few plates of very not interesting food on the table.
"Do you eat this? How can you survive with it?" Gayle couldn’t grasp the idea behind Zuri’s weird new hobby. Was she really done with her violence antic?
However, when Gayle tried a bite, he found the food was actually not that bad. It was simply Zuri didn’t put any effort to make it look more appetizing, yet the taste of it was actually nice.
And then Gayle shamelessly took another bite. "I don’t know, there is something wrong with me. I think it’s either I have a bad taste or probably I am too hungry to the point even rock tastes like a delicious meat."
Khaos used his shadow to slap the back of his head, which caused the meat stuck on his throat, because this man was talking too much and keep complaining.
"Khaos!" Gayle coughed so hard, as he tried to get the meat out of his throat.
"Gayle?" Zuri entered the kitchen and saw Gayle. She rushed toward him and hugged him tightly, while the gamma was fighting for his life.
