A Necromancer Who Just Wants to Plant Trees-Chapter 1958 - 558 slid in all at once_2
Chapter 1958: 558 slid in all at once_2
Matthew said a sentence.
Upon hearing this, Vivien’s face showed a conflicted expression, quickly whispered in a low voice:
“Mr. Edmond has a good reputation in the floating city.”
“But I’ve heard that he seems to have done some unsavory things outside, many of which were carried out by people from the Snake Mountain Sect, like a series of events related to the Dragon Lich Sect, is that so?”
Her eyes were wide and full of curiosity.
Hibbert nearby couldn’t help but prick up his ears.
“Well…”
Matthew’s eyes shifted:
“What other gossip have you heard in the floating city?”
Vivien said with an air of mystery:
“Some say that Mr. Edmond has kept Lady Isabelle imprisoned for decades!”
“Others say he seems congenial on the surface, but is petty underneath, occasionally punishing those who don’t address him as Chief Mage during meetings by making them sweep the hall.”
“And some say he likes to peep…”
Matthew coughed:
“I’m referring to things related to the Snake Mountain Sect and the Dragon Lich Sect.”
Vivien thought for a moment:
“A spellcaster from the outside told me that Edmond obscures the heavens with one hand, he single-handedly established the Dragon Lich Sect, then deliberately created conflicts between the Dragon Lich Sect and the Alliance to profit from it, saying much of his funding is acquired this way.”
“Of course, there’s even more sensational stuff—
That spellcaster told me that it was precisely because Lady Isabelle discovered Edmond’s evil deeds that she was confined;
The infamous witch who slaughters without mercy in the legends of the Dragon Lich Sect is actually one of Edmond’s female-disguised doppelgangers;
And more!
He thinks Edmond has a lover’s adoration for his mentor and is madly in love with Lady Isabelle whom he had confined…”
The more Matthew listened, the more he found it laughable.
It was Lady Isabelle who single-handedly created the Dragon Lich Sect, yet now Edmond was the scapegoat.
The latter is also unfortunate.
Matthew gestured to stop there:
“Which spellcaster passed on these rumors to you?”
Vivien said somewhat ashamedly:
“I’ve only met that spellcaster three times; it’s said he belongs to the Snake Mountain Sect, so it shouldn’t be false, right?”
“Oh, Matthew, you’re well-informed on the outside, tell us what you know.”
People from the Snake Mountain Sect?
Matthew suddenly paused.
If it truly was someone from the Snake Mountain Sect, with how much control Edmond has over the Snake Mountain Sect, why would anyone spread baseless rumors about their own boss?
Unless this rumor…
Was deliberately spread by Edmond himself!
If that’s the case.
What is this guy up to?
Matthew’s expression also became very colorful.
Facing the eager eyes of Vivien and Hibbert, he could only clear his throat:
“Actually, I’m not too clear about Mr. Edmond’s deeds either.”
“But no matter what, he’s still a spellcaster of the Alliance, having made so many contributions to protect Aindor. It shouldn’t come to doing those evils rumored, don’t you think?”
Vivien clearly was not satisfied with this answer.
She pouted her lips:
“It’s really hard to say!” fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Hibbert, on the other hand, honestly said:
“Sir Edmond comes off as unfathomable to me.”
“Many say I’m a genius, but that’s only among our generation. When I stand before the Seven Saint Alliance, including Sir Edmond, I feel incredibly insignificant.”
“For such a great person, I think our judgments are meaningless.”
“So… are we going to find him?”
“Or should we try cooperating with the Volcano Mage? He doesn’t seem to be entirely on the side of the Lord of Darkness…”
Matthew looked at Hibbert with surprise.
This guy actually thought of collaborating with Erin. It shows a genius is a genius after all, usually just too lazy to think, but when needed, can find the most efficient shortcut.
“I have a similar idea, we could use Communication Magic to contact Erin, and at the same time inquire about their situation…”
Matthew stated his thoughts.
But just at this moment.
The three of them suddenly noticed a disturbance deep in the astral world.
Under the Shattered Light.
A dark object swam over from afar.
It quickly swam up to the vicinity of the Shadow Core, then began to hover there.
Matthew thought it would be assimilated by that special crystal wall.
But who knew the next second.
The dark object actually burrowed directly into the surface of the crystal wall!
“”
“It’s gone in!”
“What is that?”
“Can it actually ignore the corrupt substances on the surface of the crystal wall?”
Vivien was extremely surprised.
Matthew was equally astonished.
He quickly glanced at the data column.
…
“Tip: You have observed a Star Realm Swordfish.
Observation: The Star Realm Swordfish is exempt from the special effects of the ‘White Coral Crystal Wall’ and has successfully entered the Shadow Core.
The Star Realm Swordfish has left the ‘Shadow Core’!”
…
Watching the swordfish swim away,
A ripple stirred in Matthew’s heart.
“That’s right, even in the life-forbidden zone at the edge of the Multiverse, there are a very few races that can survive. The Star Realm Swordfish possess superb astral traversal abilities, so it’s not surprising that they can be exempt from the Characteristic of such crystal walls.”
Vivien’s eyes lit up:
“Does this mean we could capture a swordfish to lead the way?”
Matthew immediately waved his hand:
“No need.”
“I happen to have one right here, let’s send it over and give it a try!”
The next second.
He started chanting the Undead Summoning spell and summoned the ‘Death Swordfish’!
The so-called Death Swordfish.
Was actually the fish head that Tyrese had chopped off in the Blood-Drinking Mountain Plane.
Under Matthew’s control,
The fish head nimbly crossed the foam zone and slammed into the crystal wall on the surface of the Shadow Core!
An incredible thing happened.
The crystal wall, normally a threat to common creatures, actively split open to accommodate and envelop the entry of the Death Swordfish!
“It slipped right in!”
Vivien cheered with delight.
Matthew also breathed a sigh of relief.
He then navigated the Death Swordfish forward, confirmed it had entered a safe area, and quickly returned.
Afterward.
The three of them climbed into the mouth of the swordfish.
The swordfish set off once again.
A few minutes later.
Just like before, the swordfish entered the space of the core.
The Shadow Core, which tears the target apart, began the size of a fist.
Yet, with Beckman’s Ritual, it gradually expanded to the size of a medium Demiplane.
After Matthew entered the core world aboard the swordfish,
The first thing he saw was a huge cosmic spaceship!
That spaceship was quietly docked on the ground of the inner core world.
Matthew looked down.
Around the spaceship, there was a faint green Energy Shield.
Inside the Energy Shield, many strange creatures were bustling about on and off the ship.
And on the outskirts of the Energy Shield, a lot of space was still in a state of nothingness.
Matthew saw giant worms being driven to crawl back and forth on the ground.
Wherever these worms crawled, they would leave behind a lot of white mucus, which would quickly solidify into hardened ground, providing more footholds for the Demiplane’s expansion and construction.
“Stone Worm.”
Vivien, a top spellcaster by academic training,
Immediately identified the origin of the many creatures in the Shadow Core:
“Stone Worms are quite rare in Aindor, more often found at the edges of Gray Star Realm spaces.”
“They like to consume stones, and while moving, their abdomen secretes a large amount of liquid similar to ‘Original Stone Liquid,’ which solidifies into substantial ground.”
“Stone Worms are typically used for Demiplane expansion and construction.”
“However, this method of construction is generally short-term because the spaces opened up by Stone Worms are not reliable in the long term.”
“The creatures within the Energy Shield should be the descendants of the Tong Luo God left in Aindor. They call themselves the Tong Luo God Race, existing similarly to Beckman.”
“Given the current situation, some facility on the spaceship must have activated the bloodline of these Tong Luo God Race descendants, leaving them oddly shaped, but likely with some additional abilities…”
Matthew nodded slightly.
Suddenly,
As his gaze focused once again on the enormous cosmic spaceship,
An ancient mournful ballad echoed in his ears,
And visions appeared before his eyes!
