Chapter 95: Chapter 95: You’re Standing So Close, Don’t You Feel Crowded?

Before Clara Grant could even bend down, a sharp, mean-spirited voice sounded from behind her.

"Well, well. Knocking someone over and not even helping them up or saying you’re sorry. You must be so high and mighty."

Just as Clara was about to turn around, a figure flashed before her. Someone had appeared in front of her and was bending down to help Juno Croft up, asking with concern, "Juno, are you okay?"

Clara looked up to see Chloe Grant, the very picture of a caring classmate, comforting Juno, who looked like she was about to burst into tears.

Class had just let out, so the other students hadn’t been paying much attention. But now, all eyes were on them. No one came closer; they just watched quietly from a distance.

Clara frowned. ’Juno is taller and more solidly built than most girls. It was just a light bump, and it’s not like I’m a brick wall. How could it have hurt so much that she’s about to cry?’

While she was lost in thought, that sharp voice rang out again. "See? Our Chloe is the one who actually cares about her classmates. They’re both Grants, so why is there such a huge difference in their character?"

Clara turned, her gaze finally falling on the owner of the voice, Celia Lee. As Celia finished speaking, she walked right up to Clara, taking her place on Juno’s other side.

Looking at the three of them before her, Clara’s expression grew cold. ’It seems this wasn’t an accident after all. It was deliberate.’

Before she could say a word, another voice chimed in. "Things are different for her now. She’s latched onto some rich guy, so of course she thinks she’s gone from rags to riches. So high-and-mighty."

As the words faded, a girl named Melanie Lowell walked up, taking a spot next to Chloe Grant.

"Hah, what has society come to? A girl gets a sugar daddy and acts like a total slut, and not only does she feel no shame, she actually thinks it makes her noble."

"Exactly. When you talk about status, our Chloe is the real lady of the Grant family, and even she doesn’t put on airs. But this shameless tramp is the one acting all high and mighty."

As they spoke, two more girls walked over, unequivocally siding with Chloe Grant and Juno.

In an instant, the power dynamic between Clara Grant and Chloe Grant became starkly clear. First, the numbers: it was one against six.

Second, Clara wore an icy, detached expression and nothing more. In contrast, while Chloe herself maintained a facade of kindness, her friends were all glaring, aggressive, and united against a common foe. Their collective presence was utterly overwhelming.

Clara’s gaze swept over their faces one by one, her eyes growing even colder. Juno Croft, Cecilia Lee, Melanie Lowell... they had always been Chloe Grant’s close friends.

At this point, Clara would have to be a complete fool not to realize that the "accident" was a premeditated scene orchestrated by none other than Chloe Grant.

’But what’s all this about me latching onto a rich man?’

Clara couldn’t help but recall how, just a few days ago, Chloe Grant had seen her getting out of Seth Quinn’s car and had immediately tried to accuse her of being a sugar baby.

’Could it be that Chloe deliberately spread rumors about it?’

"Clara Grant, don’t you have anything to say for yourself?"

While her mind was wandering, Cecilia Lee spoke up again, chin held high in arrogance. Seeing that Clara still hadn’t reacted, she decided to address her by name directly this time.

The previous remarks from the other girls had already set the students whispering among themselves. Now, hearing Cecilia Lee’s direct question, they all fell silent again, their eyes turning in unison toward Clara, waiting curiously for her reaction.

Clara’s gaze swept over each of their faces once more. Then, a slight smile touched her lips as she spoke.

"I do. I was just wondering, with all of you standing so close together... isn’t it getting a little crowded?"
