Chapter 81: Chapter 81: He Is A Threat

"Elda is still alive." Grayson said to Elder Mai.

"What do you mean she’s still alive. She’s dead, I saw her corpse with my own eyes." Elder Mai responded.

"Perhaps not exactly alive. I am a reaper, guiding souls to the afterlife is my job. I have Elda’s soul with me and I believe I might be able to bring her back, but ithis is a method I’ve never tried before." Grayson added.

"Try it." Elder Mai said with no hesitation.

"Now? This isn’t tested yet. I have no idea how she would be affected by this," Grayson warned.

"You want to stay in the city? Then bring her back. I want to hear her side of the story." Elder Mai said.

’Do it Grayson, I’m already dead, what’s the worst that could happen?’ Elda said from within the cloud.

"Alright." Grayson said out loud then summoned 200,000 shadows.

’This is about how strong Axelia was after I left earth. Elda may not come back as powerful as she used to be, but her soul power should still be the same. Getting back to the Legendary realm should be easy for her. Besides, she is coming back from the dead, this should be enough.’ Grayson thought to himself.

"Merge." Grayson said out loud.

The 200,000 shadows then twisted and formed a gigantic, dark whirlpool. He then extracted Elda’s soul from his dark cloud and threw it at the center of the whirlpool.

An apocalyptic storm then began to brew as the shadows were absorbed into Elda’s soul in an attempt to merge with it. However, an unknown force repelled them from doing so. Lightning of different colors blanket the now pitch black sky.

Each lightning strike that rained down cracked the ground open a dozen meters wide. Lava flowed out of the cracks, luckily the graves remained undamaged. It was like the beginning of the end.

{Eyes of Samsara (Lv. 1). (Active)}

"Merge!" Grayson commanded.

His now scarlet eyes were glowing as if highlighting the tiniest of details.

’I see.’ Grayson thought to himself.

His aura of death then suddenly engulfed Elda’s soul. Immediately after, the shadows began to merge with her.

The tornado began to shrink, growing smaller and smaller. Eventually all the shadows successfully combined with Elda’s soul. The storm quickly disappeared. A being, unlike any shadow that came before, now stood staring at a floating grave.

Gen and Ravana, who had recently left, saw the colossal whirlpool and rushed back to the graveyard to see what was going on.

Upon arriving, they saw a dark, curvy figure staring at Elda’s grave. A pitch black staff, that seemed to have a mind of its own, was floating next to her.

At first glance, she looked like an ordinary person. However, her fangs and the occasional dark cloud rising from her body, made her stand out.

"I’m alive! That’s my grave right there. My corpse is rotting inside it, but here I am, standing...actually feeling alive." Elda began to say in a daze.

She couldn’t help but smile, revealing her fangs even more. She stared at her hands as she felt the power within her.

"HA, HAHA, HAHAHAHA...I feel amazing!" Elda said laughing maniacally.

An aura of death raged out of her as she embraced being alive once more.

"What’s this?" Elda asked out loud as she grabbed the floating black staff next to her.

Information about the staff and other worlds suddenly flooded her mind. She now had the knowledge and learning capacity of 200,000 shadows within her.

"You..." Elda said finally turning back to Grayson.

"You’re just like Dunamis-, no YOU’RE A-..." Elda began to say before being interrupted. Grayson raised his hand and Elda immediately stopped speaking.

"My, my head hurts. I feel a little under the weather right now. I need to rest." Elda suddenly said then went back into Grayson’s cloud.

"What’s wrong with her?" Elder Mai asked worriedly.

"Should be nothing. My shadows are highly compatible with exousia, but have no physical body. The Theós System is probably constructing a physical body for her right now." Grayson clarified.

"Was that Elda!" Ravana asked from a couple of meters behind.

"And was she naked?" Gen also asked standing next to Ravana.

"Is that all you can think about?" Ravana said with anger then smacked the back of Gen’s head.

"What are you doing back here?" Elder Mai asked with shock.

"The whole city saw that storm. It was hard to miss. We were still close by so we came to see what’s happening...so what happened here?" Ravana asked with a serious tone.

"What you saw was indeed Elda. I used an ancient technique to bring her back." Grayson lied confidently.

"I thought only skilled Heavenly Hosts are able to transfer their souls from one body to another. I do see some similarities, but that didn’t exactly feel like just Elda." Ravana said with suspicion in her voice.

"It isn’t a method you’re familiar with which is why her aura is a little different." Grayson said casually then began to walk towards the city.

"Okay...but what did she mean when she said you are like Dunamis?" Ravana raised another question. Grayson then continuedd to walk away as he said, "I have no obligation to answer that."

"WAIT...Can I-, may I please see her?" Ravana asked with slightly watery eyes.

"Not yet, she needs to rest for now. You’ll see her soon." Grayson said then warped back to the city.

"Wait, I’m not done-." Elder Mai tried to say, but Grayson had already left.

"Listen to me Ravana. Don’t ask him any more questions about this. I’m looking at you too Gen. Not another word. He is not your friend. He is not some savior. HE IS A THREAT! One that we should not involve ourselves with. Do you understand?" Elder Mai warned.

"Yes." Ravana and Gen answered in unison then looked at each other with puzzled faces. Although they were warned not to ask any questions, this just raised more questions in their minds.

’What kind of person is Grayson to have made even Elder Mai this worried?’ Ravana asked herself.

Back at The Bartender’s, Lilith and The Bartender were drowning themselves in alcohol.

"I mean...(BARP) I get I was still sleeping and was hangover or whatever, and there was...(BARP), there was no way I would have gotten up to go on some mission even if he begged me, but it still hurts you knooow.

He just decided to go off on his own with this Elda. Maybe if he had dragged me to go with them...(BAAARP), to go with them on the fAnCy mission, then maybe, just maybe, I would have liked this Elda enough to have saved her...but nooo..." Lilith said, now completely drunk.

"Elda was a money loving, alcoholic, party freak. However, her skills were evident, which goes without saying. She was incredibly passionate about her work. She has saved many hosts with the equipments she made. We owe her a great deal." The Bartender said then jugged down a barrel he was holding.

"Wooow...(BARP), she sounds wonderful." Lilith said as she swayed from left to right then finished the rest of her barrel.

"Hmm... You still look sober? We drank like this many barrels each of whatever is in there..." Lilith said holding up 6 fingers.

Grayson then suddenly appeared at The Bartender’s. The Bartender glared at Grayson then went back to drinking.

"Graaayyysooon, why did you leeeave me?" Lilith said lazily as she put the full weight of her body around Grayson’s shoulders.

"You said you wanted to stay." Grayson answered.

"Not today dummy, don’t you even remember?" Lilith asked.

"I’m confused." Grayson replied.

Azrael then suddenly came out of the dark cloud and examined the swaying Lilith.

"Lilith, how are you drunk?" Azrael asked puzzled.

"The Bartender puts his magic juices in the drinks...hahahaha." Lilith said laughing.

"This is a city full of hosts. Naturally, we would produce alcohol that can intoxicate a host’s body. However, I’ve never met a monster like Lilith who could jug down one of my special barrels in one gulp.

One glass is enough to get an Ordinary Host drunk, but still, even for a Legendary Host, to drink 6 barrels, that’s practically suicide." The Bartender said with a sigh.

"I’ll show you suicide, Cat Girl, Bring Me Another Barrel!" Lilith demanded aloud at a waitress who was nearby clearing a table. The grey cat girl gasped from the sudden call, nearly dropping a glass.

"I would like to try a barrel as well please." Azrael said walking towards the long bar.

"That voice...hey Azrael, you’re actually quite handsome beneath your armor." Lilith said catching up to Azrael

"It’s fine Charitoo, these are my personal guests. Please take care of their requests." The Bartender said to the grey cat girl.

He then turned to Grayson and said, "You know, these barrels aren’t cheap."

"Should be fine for just one night." Grayson said to The Bartender as he walked towards the long bar as well.

The Bartender then went to the back and came out with 8 barrels.

"Master, when will we go on our next mission? I’m itching for another fight." Azrael asked Grayson with a vabriant smile.

"I already have a mission in mind for you." Grayson replied.

"You guys better not ditch me this time." Lilith said in complaint.

"It was Master, I had no say in it." Azrael quickly defended himself.

The Bartender then placed 2 barrels before as they were chatting away.

"I know you can probably hold your drink like Lilith here, but these are a little stronger. So let’s start with just two barrels to be safe." The Bartender said as he poured a glass for everyone.

They each gulped down their glass with The Bartender.

"I’ve never tasted anything like this!" Grayson said in awe.

"What the fuck did I just drink? This tastes like shit. Is it supposed to burn you?" Azrael said with worry.

"So you’ve been holding back the good stuff from me aye?" Lilith said to The Bartender. "Mark my words, I’m going to get you drunk tonight." She added.

"JUG!" Lilith shouted.

Lilith and The Bartender then jugged their respective barrels.

"I guess it’s best to just get it over with." Azrael said then downed a barrel.

Grayson smiled at the current scene and jugged his barrel as well.

"Anything yet?" Lilith asked The Bartender.

The Bartender simply shrugged his shoulders in response. "I feel slightly light headed, it’s faint, but it’s something." Azrael said then proceeded to jug another barrel alongside everyone else.
